Woop woop it's been a while since we've heard from him, so this is gonna be great.

I want to thank Mr. Walgreen for accepting the MJJC invite for a Q&A. My questions for him, and it's a long list...

1. Were you ever a fan of Michael Jackson’s? Please elaborate.

2. Did the trial change your opinion of Michael Jackson, and if so was it for the better or worse?

3. From the beginning, even prior to the trial, were you confident that you had a strong case against the defense?

4. At any point prior to the trial, did the Prosecution team ever entertain the thought that this was more than Manslaughter, bordering perhaps on Murder?

5. You may have heard the various conspiracy theories surrounding Michael’s death. Certain Jackson family members to this day maintain that Murray was a hit-man, and the person/persons really responsible for his death are still at large. What do you make of these?

6. During the trial were you ever thrown off guard by some of the claims made by the Defense? Or was everything as anticipated?

7. Whose decision was it to show death photos of Michael and why were two shown as opposed to one? I believe just the hospital photo would’ve been sufficient evidence. So what was the reason for the 2nd photo - the autopsy photo - which shocked and saddened many of us?

8. Did Michael’s family ever object to these photos being shown?

9. This may sound funny, but your extreme thoroughness and confidence made it clear that you’ve prepared your socks-off for this case! On the nights of the trial, on average how many hours of sleep did you get?

10. From all the cases you’ve handled, how would you rate this in terms of being an easy win for the prosecution or a difficult/complicated case?

11. What did you make of the publicity and media circus surrounding the case? Was it a hindrance at times or do you think it was a positive, and that all trials should be shown live?

12. Now that some months have passed since the trial, and considering all the actions of Conrad Murray to date from the time he worked for Michael to the last update from jail, where he complained about weight loss, what is your impression of him?

13. What was your impression of the Defense attorneys? Do you think they did the best they could with the evidence available or they were weak in their presentation?

14. Years down the line, what are 3 things that you’ll remember first and most, when reflecting on this case?

15. The Jackson family waived off their rights to restitution because of their private lawsuit against AEG, where a win guarantees them millions of dollars in compensation. When this was first announced, were you surprised by the family’s actions? What did you make of it?

16. Do you think it was a wise move on the part of the family to waive off their rights to restitution?

17. What are your plans for the future, we heard recently that you have applied for the post of L.A. County Superior Court Judge, but beyond that do you have any plans such as getting into politics?

18. Are you aware that fans in general were awed by you, and have becomes fans of you? Fact proved by the many YouTube videos dedicated to you, which you should check out if you haven’t already J

Mr. Walgren, when did you first realize that this case might be a bit different from others
you have tried?

How close were you to a decision to charge a higher offense?

How did you educate yourself so well on the medical details in this case?

Can you say who, in your opinion, was the prosecution witness who was
the most effective?

What were your impressions of Judge Pastor's sentencing statement?

GREAT NEWS!!!

... My questions (aka variation of proposals) will be posted soon

Thank him for agreeing to do this. We love him forever more.

Edit: Wow...so many great questions already. Great job everyone.

Here are the only ones I have:

1) Now that the family has dropped restitution, is there ANYTHING in California law, that would prevent Conrad Murray from profiting off MJ's death? Did you try to dissuade the family from dropping restitution? Were the consequences explained to them?

2) Now that we've gone through the trial, I truly believe the case was strong enough for murder 2. If you have to redo it all again, would you still go with Manslaughter? Why?

3) Why do you feel, the family is suing AEG civilly, when it is clear from your arguments & testimonies, Conrad Murray ALONE, was responsible?

Oh, fascinating!

*off to the thinking corner for the moment*

_______________________________________________

1.
Mr. Walgren- were you personally aware of (while in action) Dr. White's "scumbag" moment/outburst- or where you informed later?

2.
How much of a debate ensued over the inclusion of the autopsy pictures of Mr. Jackson- was the decision to include these pictures immediately shared by all involved- and what were the pros and cons weighed in regards a possible decision?

3.
What kind of (if more so) emotional impact did the presence of the Jackson family have on you personally?

4.
What are your thoughts on the dropped restitution?

5.
What were you personal thoughts on the daily media avalanche, the visible fan support- and how do your personal experiences differ from the impressions that the public saw via a TV set? Now that you probably had time to catch up- do you feel the media reported on the same trial in which you successfully prosecuted Conrad Murray- do you feel that media reports were accurately mirroring the daily ongoings in the trial?

6.
Do you have any further thoughts to share with us regarding Mr. Murray's amazing ability to keep mum in a courtroom vs. the "amazing revelations" of the aired documentary? (I hesitate calling it that)

7.
And lastly- while it was Conrad Murray on trial- has your personal outlook on the person Michael Jackson changed in any way after successfully prosecuting Conrad Murray? What happens to your thoughts and emotions when an MJ song comes on and you realize that somehow you now are connected yourself- as a prosecutor?

8.
Can you share some of your thoughts that you personally had on 6/25/2009 when the world learned of Mr. Jackson's death?

And of course- thank you, Mr. Walgreen, for your professionalism and dedication under the scrutiny of the entire world watching on. Thank you.

Rhilo u ask some goodies there, many of which I was thinking myself. :) First let me thank Mr. Walgren for taking the time to answer questions by the fans and MJJC for another Q & A. These are great...never stop! :D

1. When you first heard that Murray did a documentary about himself and Michael what was your first thoughts?

2. After you seen the documentary or specific clips of it did u know right away this would hurt Murray and that it would benefit your case?

3. What did u make of the defense making a big deal out of the mistakes LA County Coroner Investigator Elissa Fleak made especially on not taking a pic of the Propofol bottle in the IV bag. Did you ever think that was something major that could affect your case?

4. Why weren't any family members of Michael's called on the stand?

5. Do you believe MJ was an addict?

6. Why wasn't Arnold Klein called to testify?

7. Knowing that Murray will get out soon and clearly has no kind of remorse about what he has done do you believe that Involuntary Manslaughter was the right charge here, still?

8. Would you ever consider doing a book about the Murray case?

Um not sure what else to ask?...=/

His thought of dropping restitution was the first question to come to my mind and there it is asked already.

The main question which I have for Mr.Walgren is:
Whom was it decided by to demonstrate that photo of naked Michael's body to the whole world but not only to the jury..?

Thank you very much for the good job and for being unprejudiced and human.
I'm sure everyone who knew Michael could sign under your closing words at the end of this trial proccess.
Please accept my deep and sincere respect to you.

Few questions for starters:

LA Times wrote the following:
"Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley on Tuesday said his office would fight to have Dr. Conrad Murray serve his four-year sentence in a state prison, rather than county jail.

Under a new state law, defendants convicted of certain nonviolent crimes will spend their terms in county jail instead of the overcrowded state prison system. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told The Times that officials were still trying to determine the exact details of his incarceration. But under state law, nonviolent felons in California serve 50% of their sentences.

Cooley, however, said his office is considering an appeal that would ask the judge to send Murray to prison and serve more of his sentence.

Cooley is a strong critic of the new state law. He expressed concern that Murray could actually spend less than two years in county jail because of overcrowding at that facility."

My question is, is office (Cooley) still looking into appeal for sending Murray in to state prison?

What was your first thought when you saw Murray's document?

Obviously you were extremely well prepared for the trial, but was there any time that you were struggling with all the medical questions/issues that were brought up during the trial.

What did you think of Nicole A reply when she was asked about her "instrument"?

Did you at least sometimes feel pity for Murray's lawyers Mr Chernoff and Mr Flannagan for their lack of preparation for the trial and poor presentation in the court?

Do you think sequestering jury would have made any difference one way or the other?

LMAT
12-04-2012, 11:15 AM
Mr. Walgren: While I will always be grateful for your and Ms. Brazil's prosecution of Murray, I continue to take issue with the open court release of Mr. Jackson's autopsy photo. Was there any recognition or discussion of the horrendous media response that would most certainly occur? Did your team consider limiting that most personal and private photo to the jurors only? The DAs office must have been aware of what occured during Mr. Jackson's life in regards to sensationalism and gross unfairness by the media; were you made aware of the gross misuse of that photo during and after the trial? Are you aware that social media was used to harrass Mr. Jackson's children using that picture of their father?

I'll be posting the questions emailed or tweeted to me here as well

-------------------------

First of all, it's so exciting that he agreed to do this! This will be a great Q&A
so thank you all for organizing this! Since English is not my first language my
questions might need a little fine-tuning in the grammar department :-) Some might
have been asked already but I will still include them:

MJ related:

- When you asked Dr Rogers about Vitiligo and Michaels Pepsi incident some fans felt
you cleared up some misconceptions about him that weren't even directly related to
the case. Was that intentional on your part? Since many people still thought Michael
lied about his Vitiligo did you think this would change some Jury members opinion
about him?

- What did you think about the Jackson family dropping the restitution?

- Were you an MJ fan before you got involved in this case? Did your research change
your mind about him in any way?

- Dr Shafer was already so generous to do a Q&A and he praised your dedication and
brilliance. Can you tell us a bit about your work with Dr Shafer? How did you find
him and how much time did you invest "behind the scenes" to get educated about the
science?

- Personally I never really understood why the defense tried so hard to paint
Michael as an addict, since in my opinion this would make Murray even more guilty
than he already is. Can you share some personal thoughts about this?

- Can you elaborate a bit on "tab-handle-gate"? How was the whole thing planned
initially? Did you intend all along to bring out the slit IV bag at the end and why
did you decide to not use it right from the start?

Others:

- At the press conference you couldn't answer the question which case in your career
was the most difficult one. Have you thought about it? Which case was the most
challenging and why?

- Many were impressed by the amount of preparation you did for this case. You
generally seem to be so dedicated to your job, is this the kind of career you always
imagined for yourself?

Again, thank you so much for doing this!

--------------------------------------------

most important question: why they just investigated CM (just in one direction), when obviously more ppl were involved - why they IGNORED all the other signs, that there was much more behind MJ`s death? Just to get a trial they could win easy & quick?

----------------------------------------------

My question for Walgren is: "Why did you seek Manslaughter charges, rather than Murder 2?" Thanks!

----------------------------------------------

my questions to Mr. Walgren: . Did the trial change your opinion of Michael Jackson? Have you ever believed the rumors about him ?

Firstly I'd like to thank you Mr Walgren for the superb job you did at trial.

My question is

Was there never a possibility that extra charges could have been added to that of manslaughter against Murray?
I am thinking specifically of his having lied to first the paramedics and then the doctors in that he never mentioned Michael had been given Propofol. My feeling is that Murray hoped all traces of the drug would have disappeared from Michael's system before his death was pronounced. Surely there must be something from that alone from which he could have been charged with. Add on the fact of the time which elapsed before he called 911 - 'failing to seek medical help'.

That's great that he accepted ^^
English is not my first language too but I'll try to correct the question in the best of my ability.
Anyway, I think that It will be corrected again, right? *_*
I don't know if this question is already posted but I'll write it down ^^

Mr. Walgren Have you ever thought to not win the case? Was there a time when things were more difficult and complicated to face?

Sorry for my English, I'm embarassed

Just a question, What did Rodgers said about his vitiligo and the Pepsi accident.

Well ... my first question that rose into my mind the moment I read this thread, was: Mr Walgren, will you marry me? :-D I am very conscious that it is a real must to postpone this question to another meeting, so I become serious in this issue and leave here just two questions that I would deeply appeciate Mr Walgren's answers.

Sir, you were in charge with MJ's death case, how come at none of the steps in building up a case, you did not find any argument for issuing another conviction for Murray? How come, you and your team did not dig deeper the surface of what was obvious and officially known by the whole world?

And secondly, there were lots of awqward mistakes during the trial, concerning the exhibits you revealed ... eg, the date appeared in the authopsy photo or the spelling of MJ's name at the beginning of the trial on a paper ... I do not have any idea about your legislation down there, I live in another corner of the world, in a small European country, but ... this kind of discrepancies are not allowed in court as evidence. I suppose you are aware about the explosion of conspiracies around MJ's death and this kind of discrepancies were another evidence for certain groups to sentence that was not a real trial. So, my question is: is this kind of mistakes allowed in an official trial?

Thank you, Mr Walgren!. I always have a bow for you in my heart!

Just a question, What did Rodgers said about his vitiligo and the Pepsi accident.

Hi Shelly - I have talked to you in a looong time.

Anyway, the answer to your question is right here. Dr. Rogers discusses the vitiligo at 1:35 and he talks briefly about the burn starting at 3:23... he does not get into detail about either though.

I'm recording the questions I get

---------------------------

Hello Mr. Waldren, how much did the case with Conrad Murray and all the
media pressure around it, affect your personal life? Was there any moment
in the case that you weren´t sure if you´ll win it or lose it?

---------------------------------------------------------

I heard that California's prisons were overcrowded. If they weren't would
Murray have gotten more time?

Why did it take two years for trial to happen?

Why was it delayed so much back in 2011?

------------------------------------------

Hi, MJJCommunity Staff
Thank you for this opportunity. My questions are:
1) the verdict:We, the jury in the above-entitled action, find
the defendant, Conrad Robert Murray, guilty of the crime of involuntary manslaughter,
in violation of Penal Code Section 192 Sub-Section B; alleged victim, Michael
Joseph Jackson, alleged date of June 25th, 2009, as charged in count 1 of the
information, this 7th day of November, 2011, foreperson juror ID No. 145, seat
no. 3.......
My question
is:

When the
jury reaches a verdict, a claim or accusation is no longer “alleged”, so why in
the Dr. Conrad Murray Trial, the verdict declared “Alleged Victim Michael
Joseph Jackson” and “Alleged date June 25, 2009” ?

2)
I noticed
one day during the trial, you named Murray as Doctor then Mr Flanagan objected
that there were no proves about him to be actually a doctor.... Can you clarify
this objection, please?3) Did you call for Involuntary manslaughter because you
feared a second
degree murder accusation will end with a not guilty sentence for insufficient
evidences?
4) We all noticed the presence of
toys and puppets in the court room... It was very odd for us! Is it common to
see such kind of things in a serious place like that? 5) Can you please clarify for
us the mistery about Michael Jackson name? I mean that
all the fans know that the birth name of MJ is Michael JOE Jackson. Suddenly in
2009 we started to read Michael Joseph Jackson in very important papers like
death certificate…. I know that aliases are
legally accepted “for business papers only”….. so, please, can you explain how
the middle name Joseph can be acceptable in a death certificate while it isn't
the birth name?

Thank you!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to know what, if anything, Walgren learned about MJ that surprised him or changed his previous perception of MJ.

Also: What is Walgren's take on LaToya's murder conspiracy theory and did they ever think of investigating that?

Also: How has the hi profile MJ case changed his career & did he see any of the FB pages/twit accounts made by fans.

Wow! I’m so excited about this Q & A!

My questions for Mr. Walgren are how hard was it for him to learn all of the medical and scientific aspects of the evidence presented and how many out of court hours he would estimate he worked on getting up to speed?

Can he give us the back story of how he discovered the IV tubing was tampered with and altered and how did he find Dr. Shafer and Dr. Steinberg?

Please convey to him my utter amazement and adoration for the outstanding job he did in prosecuting the Murray case. He is the best prosecuting attorney I have ever seen even on TV. His passion and concern for justice on MJ’s behalf deeply touched my heart. I will always appreciate and love him for his hard work and attention to detail. I also think Mr. Walgren is brilliant and a force of nature in the courtroom.

WOW, there some COOL questions asked already so I can't add any NEW ones if I don't wanna repeat any but I just want to ask Mr. Walgren:

Why he went with the 'manslaughter' charge? Did he think he didn't have 'enough' evidence for 'Murder 2' or was the 'manslaughter' charge a SAVE way to at least 'lock' him up if only for 4 years?

oh, one just popped in my mind...

How was your 'impression' of Conrad Murray?

Something has been bothering me too, since we're on the subject...

Did you 'think' that Murray just 'acted' negligent' or did you 'suspect' any other 'foul play' ?

There is this 'thought' that would NOT leave me alone that he is just a 'scape goat' and that the REAL killers are still at large :bugeyed

This is so great that we get a chance to ask these questions.

My question is this (and it's a sensitive subject for some):

Was there much debate or anquish behind the scenes in deciding to show the autopsy and hospital photos as exhibits during the trial? I know you must have anticipated how hard that would be for a lot of people to see, and also how the media, etc. would portray and use those photos. Most people totally understand why they had to be shown though. It forces people to understand what he looked like and to accept that he really is gone and that is the end result of how Murray treated him.

Also, the same sort of question regarding the recorded voice of Michael while he was sedated that was played in court. Was there debate and/or doubt about airing that to the public and media? I think it was a smart move, because it showed that Conrad Murray was probably holding it for further use in the future if things didn't go his way (as Judge Pastor so eloquently put it).

Thanks!

Congrats ivy and mjjc on getting this q and a with walgren.

I like the questions asked already (except the one about putting forward latoya's conspiracy theories to him for comment). Esp like the question as to whether the autopsy photos should have been released to the public and not just used within the courtroom. Also, questions re not making this case murder 2 and are there any regrets in the da's office in not going with that charge.

I would like to ask walgren - if murray took the stand and assuming he would speak the truth what would be the top 3 questions you would want to have answers to?

Were there other recordings by mj on murray's phone that weren't used in the courtroom? Has murray's iphone been returned to him and have all recordings of mj been erased on it? Judge pastor made clear what he thought murray's intentions were when he recorded mj, what are your thoughts on why those recordings were made?

Will you marry me? :give_flowers:
My current boyfriend says that I'm easy to run (I think we were comparing cars and women that time), meaning I'm not complicated, demanding person and don't ask much.
I'm rather quiet person, meaning I won't be screaming to your ears, you'll have your peace, I just like to watch you.
Every time you have a trial,I would be in the court room watching you putting bad people behind the bars and clapping to your brilliance.
I'm not bad looking, you are not bad looking, we would make lovely couple, but enough about me, its about you http://werfectlyponderful.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/loving-self-first-madly-in-love-smiley-face-150x150.jpg

...

I have similar sentiments toward Dr. Shafer (he just makes my nerdmeter tick of a little bit more), so I can assure you to understand the overall sentiment. And that smilie is just sheer awesomeness on a Friday.:rofl:

love is magical

Are you laughing at my sincere proposal?
I'm pouring my little heart out in my letter for dear David, writing it made my heart jumping, ears humming, mouth dry, eyes blind to think that David might read my little heartfelt letter.

Not to mention, I have spent awful lot of time trying to compose what I feel about him, especially for not being native english speaker:-)

I'm laughing because your proposal is so cute... :girl_in_love:

It brought a smile to my face. I'm confident it'll bring a smile to David's face too. :D

Hi all! :)I am grateful to this forum for the opportunity to leave questions for Mr. Walgren.

Mr. Walgren in court you were a true professional and I veryu what you have done everything possible to justice.
I sincerely thank you for it.
For me, left open several questions the answers to which I believed would be found in the judicial process and the result will be a little different.
Therefore, I will be grateful if you answer my questions.
(I beg to forgive me for my horrible english .....)

1. Why is this criminal case was originally considered and investigated as manslaughter if there was evidence of intentional second-degree murder?
2. Have you considered a version that Dr. Murray was hired by the other party in order to Michael in a deranged state (under the influence of propofol and other drugs) has signed legal documents whose existence he did not know or did not want to sign them? For example, a contract for 50 concerts, hiring Branca and much more.
3. Why were investigated only the actions of Murray and have not been studied in detail the actions of people that surrounded Michael lately? Were you familiar with the evidence of purposeful threats Randy Phillips in relation to Michael, as well as the humiliation of Michael as a person?
4. Have you considered fraud Randy Phillips who voluntarily increased the number of concerts from 10 to 50, which resulted in Michael's depression, weight loss and insomnia?
5. You admitted the possibility that Michael's bodyguards may be involved? And you have seen evidence that the bodyguards are not represented by Michael lately?
6. Have you investigated the reason why Dr. Murray was unhappy and angry that that Ortega has sent Michael home from rehearsals due to poor health? And what do you think whose interests are represented by Murray if he did not care about the health of Michael?
7. Have you compared the threat of Randy Phillips with the criminal actions of Dr. Murray?
8. Do you think the U.S. there is selective justice?
9. Are you ready to help Mrs. Katherine Jackson in the fight against AEG? And she asked you for help or advice about what to do?

recording questions I received

-----------------------------------

Please explain why the California State Seal shown on TV prior to each day's
broadcast had 32 stars and not 31.

Why on the autopsy report was there no mention of the burn scars on the alleged
victim's head?

Why did the autopsy photo show a large scar below the knee on the right leg of the
alleged victim and could this be from 2005?

Why did the 911 caller not identify the alleged victim on the phone by name?

Why was the 911 call made from the Beverly Hills Hotel?

Why did Conrad Murray not stand when the verdict was read?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hi! I know quite a few people may be asking this question, but I really want to
know: DID MR WALGREN EVER CONSIDER THE INVOLVEMENT/GUILT OF OTHER PEOPLE IN WHAT
EVENTUALLY LED TO MICHAEL JACKSON'S TRAGIC DEATH, AT LEAST, DID HE EVER REFLECT ON
IT AS A HUMAN BEING IF NOT AS A PROSECUTOR? Thank you.
Also I'd like to express respect and the appreciation of the great work Mr Walgren
did together with his colleague Miss Brazil.

------------------------------------------------------

Hello DDA David Walgren. How long will Conrad be in jail? do you truely believe in
your heart Conrad should be in jail sense MJ was the one who literally paid Conrad
to give him propofol to sleep?

-------------------------------------

Hi guys,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this great opportunity. I'm the founder of an Italian website
dedicated to Michael and the following are the questions I would like to ask DDA
Walgren.

- According to California's Penal Code, an unintentional
killing caused by extremely reckless behavior is an implied malice 2nd degree
murder. Since that definition fitted Murray's crime (you underlined during the trial
his EXTREME recklessness that led to Michael's death), why did you choose to charge
him
with involountary maunslaugther, knowing that Michael Jackson's family and all
his fan community wanted the charge of 2nd degree murder?
- What's the thing you found out in this case that shocked you the most?
- Is there anything in this case that you still feel unsolved, as if it were a
puzzle to which we do not have all the pieces?

- Was there ever the intention to call the eldest son of
Michael Jackson as a witness during the trial?

- On the basis of your experience as a prosecutor, why did
Conrad Murray record Michael Jackson on his iPhone after giving him drugs?

- In the aisle of the 9th floor at the court, I was in front
of the woman who would have had to testify when Dr. White changed his opinion
the very last days of the trial after considering what she elaborated. She was
visibly very nervous and overwrought. In the middle of that morning session,
Mr. Flanagan came to her, he told her something and then she went away. Do you
know why Murray's defense team decided not to call her to the stand anymore?

Thank you again!

----------------------------------------------------

- Before you work on this case, were you a Michael Jackson's fan? or What was your
opinion on MJ before you work on this case? After the trial, does your opinion on
Michael Jackson change?

- Why did you show the picture of MJ on the gurney and and the naked picture? What
was your purpose?

- Do you know that there are two pages on facebook dedicated to you? Did you ever
read them? What do you think of them?!

- Do you know that there are lots of videos dedicated to you? Did you ever watch
them? What do you think of them?!

-----------------------------------------

Do you regret not charging Conrad Murray with a more serious charge? A
couple of years in jail is a very light sentance.

-------------------------------------------

I am curious as to why it was necessary to show the world the autopsy
photo of Michael, and why not just show it to the judge and the jury.
The world did not need to see that. And how is that not a HIPPA violation?
Thanks

-------------------------------------------------

What was his reaction about the case when he first heard it? What did he think about how the media portray MJ? Do he think MJ got a fair Judgement on his private life? Does he think he got the right portrayal of the man MJ by. what he learned from Tom Mess? What does he think Tom Messerau? Do he think that the world treated MJ wrong and not like an human bein? What is his interpretations of MJ? And to thank him :D

Is Mr Walgren aware of this fan page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/192519967426920/408329875845927/#!/pages/David-Walgren-Is-Hot/285080531502001

I'd like to know if he interviewed the children and if they told him anything we didn't hear in court about Murray and the days leading up to Michael’s death.

What law school did he graduate from and what are his future plans? Do they include politics?

What did Mr. Walgren think of the Arial banners and fans with signs who showed up in court every day also the fan reaction after the verdict and the standing ovation in the hall for him and Ms. Brazil?

Is there anything more he wanted to present about Murray that wasn’t allowed to come in as evidence?

Does Mr. Walgren think Nicole Alverez had more of a role in helping Murray than was presented in court?

Mr. Walgren, I was wondering if you have the experience now, months later, of people recognizing you
as the man who prosecuted Murray? ...not just legal peers but everyday folks. Do you still hear thanks?

Did you research Murray's life and Mr. Jackson's life before trial?

Personally, I know you were prosecuting Murray but it also felt as though you were defending Mr. Jackson.
Did you ever feel that way?

It was my understanding that Dr. Klein was not a witness because the judge did not want the jury confused.
Why were his records allowed into evidence? ...without Dr. Klein's testimony, my impression was that the demerol issue
was confusing anyway and opened up speculation, assumptions and the defense strategy of pointing the finger at
the deceased as an addict.

I would like to ask Mr Walgren what he thinks of the sentence that CM received given that he could be released after only 2 years?

14-04-2012, 07:32 AM
During the trial Dr White was sitting behind defence team, watching, taking notes and helping defence attorneys during medical questions. He was moving around so often that you had to ask the judge to order him to stay put.
Do you think it was purposely staged to try confuse prosecutor during witness examination?
I couldn't help noticing that the same tactics were not used by prosecutor.

Nicole Alvarez, Conrad Murray's girlfriend got caught telling a lie during trial. Why wasn't she charged for perjury, obstruction of justice or contempt of court?

Following the verdict, Murray’s lawyer Michael Flanagan said his side has grounds for an appeal, although he declined to elaborate on exactly what those grounds might be.
Do you know or are you allowed to say (speculate) what those grounds might be?

Lastly, I want to congratulate Ms Brazil and yourself for Clay award. Well deserved.

You and Mrs. Brazil have also seen together with the defense-attorneys of Dr. Murray the 100 hour rehearsal- footage from "This Is It". What was your impression when you saw Michael Jackson in so many hours of rehaersal-footage where he rehearses and was in interaction with his staff? Do you think that the public gets to see at some point material from these rehearsels in addition to what was published in the film "This Is It"?

Thank you in advance to David for doing the interview. I admired the work he put in during the case. I feel without him Michael would not have got justice.

1. Was there ever a point during the trial when you thought you might lose, or were you always confident you would win?

2. Were you concerned about the reaction a "not guilty" verdict would provoke amongst the fan community?

3. How much did you know about Michael and his life prior to taking on the case and meeting the Jackson family?

4.Did you find it difficult to get to grips with all of the scientific aspects of the case?

5. How were you feeling prior to the verdict being read out?

6. Did it surprise you to find out that most of the fan community has such great admiration for you?

As others have stated.....

Please ask a question about those photos.....were they really necessary???

MichaelPureSoul
15-04-2012, 12:41 AM
1. Why couldn't the pictures of Michael's body be only showed to the jury in court and not on live TV to avoid the massive reproduction of them all over the internet and the disrespect that many are using them for?

2. Why weren't more people investigated in order to find the owners of the unifentified fingerprints on the syringe and on the saline bag?

3. We were left with the idea that it was never proved how the amount of propofol was administered to Michael, it was not clear that there was a drip because part of the drip system was missing and the bottle was never fotographed inside the bag. Wasn't this a mistake on behalf of the people who lead the investigation?

4. Alberto Alvarez testimony was flawed by the different drawings he did of what he saw. Why was there such change in his part of the story as time went by before the trial?

5. Don't you consider that Miss Fleak did a bad job in her investigation by not examining other parts of the house immediately and leaving such important findings like the drip stand and the saline bag, as well as other things on her first day?

6. Why would any investigator leave out such an important part of their findings and not report them immediately but just few weeks before going to trial? (Miss Fleak and her report on the drip system)

7. Didn't you find that the security personnel seemed to be very reserved when answering questions and specifically Mr. Muhammad was very vague and could not recall many things from that day?

8. Why was there no clear understanding of how and why Michael had such high level of Lorazepam in his blood? I find that the trial did not offer an explanation of why Michael would have so much of it when it's clear that it's dangerous to mix that with propofol.

9. Why wasn't there a full analysis (test) done to determine the levels of lorazepam in the urine at time of death?

Mr. Walgren, thank you for your excellent work in defending Michael Jackson...

1. During the trial when you were speaking to the jury about Michael's plans for the future and how his children were left to grow up without their father, you appeared to be sincerely affected by that. Did this make you think about your own children or did you try to remain emotionally uninvolved?

2. Do you have any aspirations for political office?

MIST
15-04-2012, 07:27 AM
Mr Wahlgren I want to say thank you.

What do you think about that tv stations sent the documentary with murray over the world?
And claimed people needed to know about it

Speechlessgirl27
15-04-2012, 07:43 AM
1. Do you think if MJ was a white celebrity, even of lesser stature, would the charge have been 2nd degree?

2. Do you think that because there is a segment of the public that believes MJ was guilty of the charges he was acquitted of, the public (and eventually, the jury) would be more sympathetic to a manslaughter charge than 2nd degree?

3. Murray’s actions (negligence, taping Michael under the influence, etc.) showed a pattern of disregard for Michael’s life with only ONE of his actions leading to death. Why only “one” charge for Murray?

4. You were aware that by the time Murray would be convicted, he would only serve 2 out of 4 maximum years. Isn’t it futile to petition that Murray serve all 4 years when he would have gotten a heavier sentence with a 2nd degree conviction?

5. Why was it necessary to show a picture of MJ on a gurney and an autopsy photo in open court for a manslaughter trial? Isn’t this usually done during murder trials? WHY was Michael not given the dignity of having the photos shown only to the Judge and jury?

6. You said that what happened on 6/25 was an experiment. Murray admitted to administering propofol for the better part of 2 months. He also admitted to routinely taking calls while Michael was “under” in his documentary. Why not get his phone records for the past two months before Michael died and more testimony from staff about Murray’s “habits” during those months to establish that it was an experiment EVERY NIGHT for TWO MONTHS? This, the purchases of propofol, the implicit contract of Murray’s employment… would this not establish INTENT to do the act and thus 2nd degree?

7. Speaking of Murray’s implicit employment….if the prosecution/defense portrayed Murray less as a doctor and more of a pusher of propofol (the true purpose of him being there), would this garner a 2nd degree murder charge?

8. Again with implicit employment….why was it not asked in open court who was paying/reimbursing Murray for his purchases relating to propofol? Do you think ONLY Murray is responsible?

9. What would Murray have to do to Michael for his actions to fall under 2nd degree murder?

The defense spent the better part of a day going over Dr. Klein’s files and Michael receiving Demerol in the hopes of portraying Michael as a Demerol addict. On the cross, would it not save time to simply ask how Demerol could have killed Michael if there was no Demerol in his body the day he died? Wouldn’t that get focus off of Michael being a possible addict quicker than spending a whole day talking about Michael being a possible addict in open court?

Lastly (LOL!), about the Jackson parents’ rejection of restitution:

1. Is it true that restitution is used to make the plantiff "whole" because it’s based on lost earnings or what you "had" while damages are based on wrongful death? If so….it WAS CORRECT to reject it?

2. Is it true that if they accepted restitution, it would decrease the potential award won in the civil suit?

3. Michael was supposedly guaranteed $30M from the AEG deal which included the 50 shows yet, his estate ended up paying AEG, I think, over $30M. Can you shed some light on this?

Some questions from me;

Do you think Dr. Waldman was coached by the defence to be as hostile and unhelpful as possible when it came to you questioning him?

When watching "This Is It" what were your thoughts on Michael performance wise?

Were you ever a fan of Michael's or the Jackson 5's music prior to getting the case?

How much did you know about the 2005 trial and what were are thoughts on it?

What was your initial reaction or thoughts when you first heard that Michael had passed away?

Were there any moments during the trial where something shocked you?

Do you think the defence's tendency to sometimes be abrupt to witnesses affected the jury's impression of them?

Was it difficult for you to keep your composure when questioning people such as Dr. Waldman and Dr. White?

What did you think of Nicole Alvarez and her testimony?

I think that's it lol, many thanks to David for doing this!!

- If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?

------------------------------------------------------

1. Did Dave Walgren want to follow up with Randy Phillips when Phillips said,
under oath, that no he couldn't recall having a meeting separate and apart from the
"riot act" meeting of June 18 or 19, with Dr. Murray? Murray, in his documentary,
said Phillips took him aside saying Michael was broke, would be out on the street
selling pencils if the tour didn't go forward, Michael didn't have a dime and would
lose everything he had, Michael had to do the show and Murray had to see that
Michael was ready. Murray said Phillips' attitude at this side meeting was nasty
and threatening. Under oath, Phillips said he didn't recall such a meeting with
Murray, and said that he and Ortega left the "riot act" meeting together, so he
didn't think it happened. (In this one aspect of Murray's documentary, I actually
believed Murray, that there was such a side meeting.) Didn't Walgren want to go
after Phillips on the stand about this if for no other reason than to show Murray
would do "anything" to get Michael ready for the tour?

2. About Klein's records getting into evidence; who certified these to be a true
and correct copy of Klein's records? Klein wasn't permitted to testify, so how did
these records get in? Klein sent his bills for Michael to an accounting firm,
Crowe, Horwath, attention of Michael Kane (Crowe Horwath was AEG's accountant, so
seems like AEG knew Michael was seeing Klein). Michael Kane is listed in the TII
credits as Michael Jackson's business manager. So I would like to know who
certified Klein's medical records introduced into evidence (where all the
speculation about the 50 demerol shots came from) if Klein didn't testify. Was it
someone from Klein's office, or this "business manager" Michael Kane, from AEG's
accounting firm? It seems to me that permitting those records in as evidence
without Klein himself testifying was a big accommodation to the defense.

3. Has thought been given to moving Murray to another state where prisons are not
so crowded so that he can serve his full term? If not, why not?

---------------------------------------------------------------

The police investigation revealed Michael may not have been breathing for up
to an hour and a half before paramedics arrived. Also, during the trial, and
if I remember right you said twice, that Doctor Shafer´s analysis weren´t
based on a midday estimated time of death. AR shows over the lower back,
several perimortem (at or around the time of death) abrasions and also
comments that the scene photographs show beads on the bed. All fans know
these beads, cause we saw Michael with this necklace several times.

So my question is: Does the above mean that Murray moved Michael´s body in
that point ? And knowing he stopped breathing, then waited an hour and half
(aprox.) to call for help? If possible, could you please clarify it or give
us your opinion?

And my last question is about the hair samples taken on August 2009. The
results of the toxicology testing were not released in the trial, Could you
please let us know the reasons?

recording questions I got

------------------------------

Did you learn anything about Michael Jackson that did not come out in the trial that fans probably don't know and would appreciate learning, and that you're comfortable sharing?

------------------------------------------------

1) I think many people have asked this question, but it was a much debated
topic (and very painful, too): I understand that it was important to show
autopsy and hospital photos to jurors, but why show them on camera during a
live TV? Were you aware of all the hype that would came out? And that the
media would used them to ridicule MJ again? In light of what happened, if
you find you in the same situation today, would you allow the cameras to
show those photos to the world, again?

2) What was your perception of Michael (if you had one) before working on
the case? How the knowledge of facts has changed, if this is the case, your
opinion of him as a person?

3) After the trial Flanagan argued Murray's position would changed if Judge
Pastor had allowed the defense to bring in MJ's financial records and Arnie
Klein to testify. Your thoughts about that?

4) Why the Jackson family didn't want the restitution from Murray?

5) It was said that Michael was like a train running towards
self-destruction. I would ask if you, too, regardless of Murray's
responsibility, feels that Michael could not be helped by anything or
anyone and that, as someone wrote, "was responsible for what happened to
him". I would like to know your personal opinion on the matter.

6) When did you feel / realize that the trial would ended with the
conviction of Conrad Murray?

7) Are you aware of the importance of this conviction in regard to all
other possible future cases of abuse in the administration of drugs to
patients perpetrated by doctors?

8) How have you perceived Michael Jackson, the man, not only the artist?

9) During the collection of evidence have you had some trouble, and if so,
what kind of trouble?

10) Despite the evidence brought at the trial, despite the verdict of
guilty, some people still think that Murray has been wrongfully convicted
and that he is kind of fall guy for acts perpetrated by others (including
the victim). What would you say to these people?

11) Before the trial I was wondering why Murray was charged with
Manslaughter and not Second degree murder, which seemed more appropriate to
this case. The trial has confirmed in full what you said in your opening
statement, from violations of standards of care to the lies that Murray
told until his first statement to the police. Why haven't you decided to
change the charge, given that in California it can be upgraded during the
trial? (
http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/in-california-can-a-involuntary-manslaughter-charg-403352.html)

12) Did you really wanted to have MJ's children to testify, as reported by
some media?

----------------------

Whats the most intriguing case, in history, that you yourself would have liked to have taken on?

Here are my questions for the amazing DDA Walgren

1. Can you explain the decision to only charge Conrad Murray with manslaughter? Was a higher charge every explored?
2. There were reports that Murray left the Carolwood home during the night of June 25th, and came back to find Michael in distress... Are you aware of these reports, and if so, were they investigated?
3. Were you concerned about the numerous television and print interview, by some of Michael's family, friends and employees, who talked in great detail, about past drug use. Did they present a challenge for you in the prosecution case?
4. What were you thoughts about the Conrad Murray documentary , and the comments made by Murray and his attorneys?
5. What was your reaction to the Jackson's family decision not to go ahead with restitution?
6. Do you think, if they had proceed they would have been granted restitution?
7. Does the lack of a restitution judgement, pave the way for Murray to profit from his crime?
8. Were you aware of the intense amount of admiration and support, you were receiving from the Michael Jackson Fan Community, and that it continues to this day?

OMG, my dreams come true! Thanks my favorite MJJC, thanks Ivy for this possibility to ask the most cutey man I've saw last year about Michael and the trial!

First of all I'd like to thank mister Walgren for all he and ms. Brazil have done together to serve justice for Michael. You did a great job and my admiration is really huge. English is not my native language so i want to sorry for grammar. I join to questions about autopsy photo (nevertheless I heard what he said about it on TV) and about his thoughts of family denial the restitution. I have some more questions.

1) Why did you make a decision to become a Judge?
2) Being prosecutor how often did you obtain a death penalty for defendants?
3) Did you ever met DA of Santa Barbara Thomas Sneddon, maybe you used to work together and if yes what do you think about him?

About Murray Trial:
1) In his police interview Murray told about bad reaction of benzos and propophol. A bit later he told that he didn't know what happened with Michael and why did he die, he told it in UCLA and to detectives. But if he knew about bad reaction than wasn't it a prove that he lied to docs and cops? It was a big contradiction in his story. Why didn't you use this his own words against him to prove all his lying?
2) While Dr. White testimony I had a feeling that you almost were out of your temper because of his answers. Was it your spontaneous emotions or such way of cross-examination was your intentional line?
3) Why Ms. Brazil examined all Murray's ladies? Why it wasn't you?
4) What do you think is it realistic that more than a ten deviations and violations of Standarts of Care were just a criminal negligence and nothing more than this? Watching and learning Murray during this two years, his behaviour, his words, his lying and his offensive docu, don't you think he could have an intent to kill Michael?

Based on Dr. Shafer’s modeling and expertise how long does Mr. Walgren believe that MJ was actually dead before Dr. Murray bothered to check on him?

Did Mr. Walgren find the testimony of Dr. Waldman (The “addiction expert”) as hilarious as MJ’s fans did? Your cross examination of this paid witness was awesome and very entertaining. You are a master!

Does Mr. Walgren agree with many of MJ’s fans who feel Dr. White bears an uncanny resemblance to the fictional character Penguin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) in the Batman Series?

Has Mr. Walgren been able to find out any additional information on Gabriela Mellon Ornellas? Can he share any information with us?

Please tell Dr. Shafer he is a god in the MJ community world-wide along with yourself.

What was Mr. Walgren’s impression of Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and MJ’s bodyguards?

Did Mr. Walgren consider calling the Nanny Grace, Karen Faye and Michael Bush? Why were they not called along with the dancers?

How did Mr. Walgren find Dr. Alan Steinberg? I love him!!!

What was his impression of Cheryl Lynn Lee? Why does he think she was so nervous?

Is Judge Pastor aware how much MJ’s fans love him and also Ms. Brazil? Will you please tell them?

Why was not all the video surveillance tape down loaded from the night Michael was murdered?

Is my David still involved with this case, ie, Murray's appeal? If he is , would he be able to answer to any of our legal questions?
Anyone, Ivy?

Walgren will not be getting all the questions, he'll be answering a limited number of them. So I and MJJC staff will select the questions. He already told me that there might be some questions he can't answer or provide details. We'll do our best to select the appropriate questions and hope to get answers.

My plan is to send the most common questions and have non-trial / non-legal questions there as well.

id like to ask why he didnt contridict the medics testimony of saying they found mj on the bed when infact the medics reports made on the day said they found him on the floor. reports said the medics made the same mistake in the prelim and were put straight then by the prosecutors. why didnt the prosecutors do the same during the actual trial as the medics wrong testimony helped the defence case of calling alberto a liar. it was frustrating to see the D.A not put the medics right.

ive got another question aswell that bugged me for a while after the case but now i cant remember it!!

Question:

Beeing prosecutor you are working with serious crimes and felony such as murders, mobstery, child abuse, sexual abuse. Feeling regrets and pain for victims could raise many personal emotions towards defendant like hatred, disgust, dislike. Is it hard to deal with? What helps you to be sober-minded, move on with your work and make a good judgement?

First and for most: Thank You so much for doing such an incredible job in last years case!
I would support you in all your developing endeavors (maybe political) if i were a citizen of california.

My Q:
What is your opinion on the 1993 & 2003-2005 cases, about the then prosecution/accusers/media and on how this monumental pressure had an effect on Mr. Jackson & his future health?
Could you please elaborate in (a little) extended way?

Thank you so much again!
And best wishes for your future!

What was the court atsmosphere like when
Dr White and Dr Alan Steinberg appeared in court?
Was in the cards for a showdown for their face-to-face encounter?
Do you think the jury was better served by Steinberg's findings as
Dr White's was outdated

What are your initial thoughts when Katherine Jackson drop the resitution?
Is the AEG suit the first thing that comes to mind,
What do you think of the suit,
Has she got anything on AEG,
What are the odds stacking up,
Do you think she should drop it?

Are they still within the statue of limitiations to file a civil suit againt Conrat Murray after completing his sentencing time, if not what can the family do to stop
Conrat from profiting from his MJ experience and the trial.

Can the estate, KJ & MJ3 file an injuction to stop him from publishing and making anything public on his MJ experience and the trial?

Would you twitter us when & whereabout you make your debut appearance as a judge,
Does Michael Pastor have any impact or inspire you in any way shape and form
in your decision ?

Did your opinion on Michael Jackson change after prosecuting Conrad Murray?

What were your initial thoughts when you heard that Michael Jackson had died? -

Did the thought of you prosecuting the man responsible for his death ever come to you mind?

Where u hesistant to take up this case - due to the heavyily biased media coverage?

What was your reaction when you got to know that the Jackson's didn't want Murray to pay any restitution?

What did this trial, and what happened to Michael teach you personally? Apart from not putting blind faith in any doctor?

Do you agree with Conrad Murray's claims that the media bias worked against him? Or do you think the bias hurt Michael more?

Did you expect Judge Pastor's reaction when Murray was sentenced?

Where you prepared to counter rumors/speculation/accusations made by Conrad Murray's defense team and certain other ''well known'' individuals about Michael's state of mind/demeanor in his final months?

After having gotten to know Conrad Murray would you feel comfortable if he was your doctor? (leaving the Michael Jackson aspect out of it, but purely judging on his character)

What do you think of recent claims made by Murray about having diarrhea in jail?

Do you personally agree with the picture that's been painted by the media about who Michael Jackson was? - Or do you think certain aspects are simply twisted, left out?

Since we've already heard Ms Brazil's thoughts about ''the instrument'' coment, what did u think when Ms Alvarez referred to herself as an ''instrument''?

Did you ever have to contact/reach out to Murray's legal wife Blanche Murray? If so why?

What where your thoughts on Conrad Murray's defense team?

Where you -at times- surprised by what seemed like the sheer incompetence displayed by his legal team?

Personal questions:

Apart from being overwhelmed and flattered what did you think of the the adulation and love you received from Michael Jackson fans worldwide?

Did you expect such a thing to happen?

Did you google your name?/Watch the numerous Youtube videos dedicated to you?

What prompted you to study law?

Apart from wanting to become a judge, woould you ever consider standing on the other side? And switching roles? I.E. Becoming a defense attorney?

How old are you exactly?

Would you want to trade places with a well known celebrity or do you think the sacrifices such as loss of privacy are too much of burden to bear?

I love you Mr. Walgren from the bottom of my heart

Question:

As DDA and great lawyer how would you assess the actions of the prosecutors towards Michael in the Arvizo case as well as in the Chandler case (I'm talking about DA Sneddon and his team)? It is known that there is friendly relations between one of the prosecutors (Ron Zonen), witness (Louise Palanker) and Arvizo brothers.

Some questions from my friend who isn't a member :)

What is the process for people at your office receiving cases? Are they chosen by going on what experience they have or is it a random selection?

Was is difficult to build a case against Victor Paleologus without any scientific or DNA evidence against him?

How did you feel when fans would applaud you and blow kisses?

Did you ever think about opening your own private law firm?

What would you say are the best and worst things about your job?

Have you ever looked at the Facebook group called "David Walgren Is Hot"?

If you weren't a lawyer what would your second choice of job be?

How tall are you?

Do you find it strange being adored by so many women?

*Edit* Some from another friend

Will we be seeing you on tv again any time soon?

Do you read your fanmail?

Are you surprised at how popular you have become since the trial? (Especially with women)

Would you ever visit the UK if you had the opportunity to work here?

How does it feel to be seen as a hero?

Will you marry me? (lol)

recording questions I got

ask him how he heard MJ had died and how did he feel?!

----------------------

in expressing my deepest gratitude for the professionalism, tenacity, passion and
respect shown during the trial of Conrad Murray I ask you:
1) because it was not given weight to the statement made by Randy Phillips on the
timeline of when he got the news of Jackson's death, clearly at odds with the
statements from other witnesses?
2) how can a crime scene are missing recordings of the cameras?
3) for 40 nights of propofol administered to a patient without any proper equipment
and a bedroom is synonymous with intent to murder for you?

Good question, i'd like to know the answer too. As far as I know Walgren had a deal with Paleologus that the defendant brings forth a confession and Walgren doesn't ask for death penalty.

I think it's totally unnecessary to bring up the whole child molestation nonsense.

My friend lawyer who is not a member of MJJC wants to know. And first - it's not nonsense, it's the certain fact of so-called justice that MJ had to deal with. Second - admins and Walgren decided by themselves is it unnecessary or not.

Dont if im to late but i remembered a question.

why did you not object to kliens medical records being used. even though the defence couldnt call him. shouldnt you have tried to stop all mentions of klien as not objecting to the medical records allowed the defence a diversation tactic where they could make unfounded allegations without comeback. in hindsight do you think you made a mistake in not objecting to the records being entered as evidence

Here's a few things I've been wondering and would be happy to have answered

1. why didn't they charge Murray with other charges except involuntary manslaughter? they did claim in the court that he tried to hide evidence and proved also that he lied to the doctors and other medical personnel, so why not charge him with charges that have to do with tampering with evidence such?

2. Does he think Klien is connected to Michael's death?

Please also let him know how greatful I am for the hard work he and Deborah brazil did during the trial. they treated Michael with the respect and it really showed that they were taking it very seriously.
