Nicholas Tse gets One Inch Closer!

Nicholas Tse's fans have been waiting for his new album for a long time. Busy in making the popular TV series Proud of Twins and a few films, he only released one Mandarin album Listen Up and one Cantonese best selection Huang in the year 2004. Now finally comes the long-awaited One Inch Closer!

His previous songs made a strong impression of rock n roll, or a sense of heavy music. This time, he hopes to change his performing style to get closer to his fans, said Tse. In “One Inch Closer”, released July 05, many photos from Tse’s daily life are enclosed, depicting scenes such as Tse playing with animals, cooking dessert, eating and napping, to provide a refreshingly different image of the pop star to his fans.

While Tse is considered to be one of the most promising pop stars of his generation, it is his off-screen escapades that have garnered the most attention. He’s kept the press busy ever since setting foot in HK as a singer in 1996. In addition, his on-and-off-again relationships with Faye Wong and Cecilia Cheung have been prime water-cooler chatter.

Tse said he hoped to get rid of his public image of being a bad-tempered and wild boy and become a good man. In addition to his new Canto-pop album, Tse will issue a Mandarin album in August with the same new image.

However, the songs in “One Inch Closer” do not see many major changes in style. Fans can still get a feeling of heavy rock n roll from “Wolf”, one of the songs from the album.

Another hit from the album, titled "Traffic Jam", compares road condition with a loving relationship. Lyricist Wyman Wong aptly describes a failed relationship by using "Traffic Jam" as analogy. This is perhaps even more relevant to Nicholas Tse who is a car-lover. Composed by talented musician Endy Chow, the song brings Nicholas away from the rock and up-tempo songs which he seems to favor for a while, and offers fans a refreshing tune.

I love all opera. Anna Netrebko is wonderful, she combines beauty, a fantastic voice, discipline and great actress&#39; skills. This is a great recording from this year&#39;s Salzburg festival.

Apart from that, I listen to all kinds of classical music like Debussy and different violin concertos.

Plus all of Coldplay, U2, REM, Alanis Morrissette, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Xavier Naidoo, The Red Hot Chillie Peppers and some more. Everything depends on my mood.

My album of the day is a new one: Queen + Paul Rodgers "Return Of The Champions".

This is a great 2 disc live album. It features many of Queens greatest songs, as well as hits from Rodgers days with the bands Free and Bad Company. Paul does a great job on the Queen vocals as well...IMO his shining moments are "Boheiman Rhapsody", "The Show Must Go On", & "Tie Your Mother Down".

Also, Brian May does a touching tribute to Freddie, and his mother (who was in attendance during the concert recording) to the song "Love Of My Life".

Queen fans young and old should get this album. :)

I love all the tracks, my favourites being "My Name Is Prince", "Sexy MF", "Morning Papers", "7" and "3 Chains O&#39; Gold". I regard this album as Prince&#39;s last good album. I didn&#39;t like much of his music released after that. Rainbow Children and Musicology have come close to the quality of his late 70s/1980s/early 90s music, but is still a long way off. IMHO Prince hasn&#39;t made a really good album since the love symbol album.
