Slippery When Wet was the first album I bought!

Loved them for ages but haven't enjoyed anything for years, they've gone too country / MOR for me.

They have to be one of the nicest guys in rock thought, JBJ always comes across as so genuine when you see him and he has an amazing voice.

Best Bon Jovi songs:

Wanted Dead or Alive
Blaze Of Glory
Always
Livin' On A Prayer
You Give Love A Bad Name
Keep The Faith

Bon Jovi Snags Kopple For Documentary

Bon Jovi has commissioned Academy Award-winning director Barbara Kopple to make a documentary about the band, which she's started working on as the New Jersey rockers prepare for a U.S. tour to promote their latest album, "Lost Highway."

"We just realized that (over) all the years, we really didn't document enough stuff," guitarist Ritchie Sambora explained today (Feb. 13) in a conference call with reporters. "Musically we documented things pretty well; we put out a box set (2004's "100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong") a few years ago, but we look at other bands, contemporaries like U2, even Tom Petty and Aerosmith, and they had cameras rolling all the time. We didn't have a lot of footage like that going on."

Sambora says Bon Jovi has charged Kopple -- whose work includes the Oscar-winning "Harlan County, USA" and the Dixie Chicks' "Shut Up & Sing" -- to "capture the story about our success and the anomaly of our success, and then some of the trials and tribulations and stories and back stories."

The documentary will include both new and some archival material, including interviews and performance footage, but there's no title or tentative release date yet. "We're conceptualizing it at this point," Sambora said. "It's a work in progress ... I don't think it's gonna rear it's head for awhile."

Bon Jovi will certainly give Kopple plenty of material to work with. After rehearsals in DeKalb, Ill., the group hits the road Feb. 18 in Omaha, Neb., and promises a mix of hits and "Lost Highway" material, as well as "a lot of media, a lot of visuals," according to keyboardist David Bryan. "There's some pretty amazing screens, and the stage is just awesome."

After wrapping on May 1 in Atlanta, Bon Jovi begins a European tour on May 22 in Gelsinkirchen, Germany. There will be another leg of the tour after that, but keyboardist David Bryan said, "we don't have July figured out yet."

Richie Sambora Arrested on Suspected DUI

Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 48-year-old guitarist was arrested just before 11 p.m. Tuesday after an officer noticed his black Hummer weaving in traffic lanes, said Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jason Kravetz.

Sambora was given field sobriety tests and arrested without incident. He was booked at the Laguna Beach jail and released at 4 a.m., Kravetz said Wednesday.

"He was very cooperative with all the staff," Kravetz said.

A woman and two girls were passengers in the car, said Kravetz, who declined to release their names.

Sambora was given notice to appear in court May 7 on one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, Kravetz said.

Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for Bon Jovi, had no comment.

Sambora is a founding member of Bon Jovi. The band's last album, "Lost Highway," was released in 2007.

Bon Jovi Blasts Online Concert Scalpers

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is furious tickets for his band's free concert in New York this weekend are being sold for huge profit on the internet.

The 60,000 tickets for the gig in Central Park were handed out to fans at no cost, but thousands have made their way onto online auction sites - selling for up to $1,000.

And the singer is fuming about the city's lack of response, after mayor Michael Bloomberg refused to enforce strict guidelines prohibiting third party sales on Wednesday.

Bon Jovi writes on the band's website: "We have always had the best interest of the fans at heart, and repeatedly... tried to educate (sponsor) MLB (Major League Baseball) and New York City about the fairest and easiest distribution of tickets.

"As I said before, 'No good deed goes unpunished.' There are reports in the media about tickets being scalped for... the free concert. I for one am not surprised, but our organization is sorely disappointed."

The posting was subsequently removed within hours without explanation.

A spokesperson for Bon Jovi has denounced the ticket-sellers as "lowlifes," adding: "It's a bad enough thing to suck money out of paid concerts. It takes unmitigated chutzpah to scalp free tickets."

Bon Jovi's Soul Keep On Rocking Towards Title

Jon Bon Jovi's next stop on the road has nothing to do with his band's tour. Fresh off a free concert in Central Park, Bon Jovi is taking a break.

The rocker's Arena Football League team keeps on going. Up ahead for the Philadelphia Soul — the San Jose Sabercats in the ArenaBowl XXII in New Orleans. Bon Jovi will be there, but he'll leave his guitar and his greatest hits behind.

"I'm going there as the owner of the Soul," Bon Jovi said on Tuesday.

Jon Bon Jovi was set to meet with the Soul and the coaching staff before the band's final concert Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The team planned to present Bon Jovi with the National Conference trophy.

"It's really rewarding," he said by phone hours before the final show. "We're proud of the whole organization. We've built a team of character. Coach (Bret) Munsey has been everything that we've hoped for. Fingers crossed, one more to go."

The Soul won their first nine games and the Eastern Division title, and beat the Cleveland Gladiators 70-35 on Saturday to advance to their first title game. San Jose has won three of the last six ArenaBowl's and is looking to become the first repeat champions in 12 years. The Soul defeated San Jose 58-57 back in April.

They get at least a night to celebrate with their famous boss.

"Then they can go back and get to work," Bon Jovi said.

Sure, San Jose has all the titles, but it doesn't have the worldwide recognition that Bon Jovi gives the Soul on every tour stop. He wears the Soul jersey at packed arenas around the globe and even dedicated a tune to the band at Saturday night's free concert in front of 60,000 fans on the park's Great Lawn.

While the concert started hours after the Soul won the conference title, Bon Jovi was too jittery to watch. He caught a replay of league MVP Matt D'Orazio leading the Soul to victory after the concert was finished.

"It was impossible for me to consider watching it live," he said. "I would have been too caught up in it. So I shut off the phones and the computer and television, closed the doors and just concentrated on playing Central Park that night."

Bon Jovi then performed at Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday as part of its "Lost Highway" tour.

"I feel like a prize fighter answering that bell for the 15th round and I've got to go to the Garden," he said.

One arena the band likely won't play again is the Spectrum in Philadelphia. The Spectrum, once home to title-winning 76ers and Flyers teams, will close in 2009 and be demolished to make way for an entertainment development. Bon Jovi, whose band played there 14 times, called the arena's closing a "sad day."

"It's a dark day in Philadelphia," he said. "It's a great piece of history. Some of my favorite (memories), some of my greatest, both as the owner of the Soul, as a performer, and even as a concert goer (were there)."

Bon Jovi planned a short vacation before heading to New Orleans. Bon Jovi — who has become as much of a philanthropist as he has a rock star — once donated $1 million to Oprah's Angel Network to help aid in relief of victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Serving as the face of his band, his football team and his charitable foundation tires Bon Jovi, but he has no plan to give up any of his jobs. He wants to own an NFL team one day, though he has no plans of selling the Soul.

"It's been a lot of fun, it really has," he said. "We're really made an impression now in Philadelphia and the league. We're certainly one of, if not the premier team in the league. We're the team that's best known."

As for Tuesday's tour finale? It's not curtains on the band yet. Bon Jovi said the band plans to keep on rocking for as long as the fans are belting out all the songs, filling stadiums and buying the music.

"I don't envision myself necessarily living out of a suitcase at 64 like (Mick) Jagger, but (the Rolling Stones) are the benchmark," he said. "When they decide to call it a day, then the rest of us can look at our calendars and decide how to take it. As long as we're having No. 1 albums and you can't get a ticket to the show, why should I quit?"

I've always thought they were kind of a joke w/ their corny lyrics and cliched 'anthems' and 'power ballads.' John has also always had something of a cowboy fetish, funny for someone from New Jersey. It's no coincidence that the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame hasn't inducted such a trite, cliched band.

Hmm...a little harsh me thinks.

Bon Jovi are amazing!!! I saw them live on their have a nice day tour in 2006. It's funny because we were only talking about it the other day, that next time they tour we will go and see them

I love the songs of Bon Jovi. I'm not a big fan, but someone here knows if they will release a new album and tour?

I have not heard nor read anything about this for the press.

Hmm. Bon Jovi. There's pretty much good songs by Bon Jovi. I've heard It's My Life like million times, sometimes hating and sometimes loving it but still never getting bored of it! And of course there's much more, Everyday is one of my favourites to name one. ;)
