I started this thread on MJNO, and thought I would revive it on here.

So what do you prefer?

If you ask me, I'd say Bucharest 1992. It's much more powerful and the dance moves are better in my opinion.

I prefer the Bad Tour over The Dangerous overall, but in this case I have to say "Bucharest" was the better show. The dancing was better, more creative sets, better lighting, better energy from the crowd-just pretty much everything except for the "Human Nature" performance was better at the "Bucharest" show.

...pretty much everything except for the "Human Nature" performance was better at the "Bucharest" show.

It's amazing too see how many rate and comment a concert, performance (or whatever) based on the Human Nature performance and in general. But it's also nice, as HN is the first thing I watch on a concert, too see the different moves each time.

I do it myself!

I love the Bucharest concert, it's just a perfect show. The stage, the costumes, the dance moves, the setlist is all perfect. I watch the Bucharest show alot more than the Yokohama one.

All this talk of Bucharest is making me want to watch the concert now: 'goes to get Bucharest dvd'

Bucharest 92 because of thw whole show...had bucharest been competeing with a Bad tour concert from the 88 leg then the BAd tour would have won hands down!

The gold leotard was awful, I'll give you that.
I just watched both, Yokohama is def better in the sense that it's a LIVE show, he's actually singing, but performance and energy conerned Bucharest wins for me.

If I recall, wasn't the girl he picked for 'Shes Out Of My Life' in the Bad tour here not interesting at all? I mean, she seemed excited but it was like, I'm-winning-a-free-prize-at-a-game-show excited. I was like HELLO.

This is a tough one, I think I'm going with Yokohama. Bucharest is great too.

i know we all love the bad tour but i mean seriously yokohama was boring in comparison to bucharest. just because bucharest wasnt all live that makes the yokohama show better? lol. wrong! the better show all around from staging, lighting, performance wise, and crowd interacton is def bucharest. it runs circles around yokohoma. i mean compare the entrances of each show lol. yes yokohoma was all live, and a great show. but bucharest has the better setlist, better tricks and better costumes and a better crowd and michaels energy was on fire! and his performing was just breath-taking and that moonwalk on billie jean was sumthin vicious!

Frankyboy5
16-11-2008, 08:02 AM
BUCHAREST DANGEROUS TOUR 1992 FTW!!! :)

Bad Tour 1987 concerts weren't very good when compared to second leg. I tend to look at Billie Jean performances especially, and he often improves performances as it goes from one leg to another. He only started the hopping move (backup yells "Hoo! Hoo!") in the second leg.

But I actually like the HIStory Tour Second Leg most of all, because even though it was lipsynched, his dancing was so amazing during the second leg. In the first leg he had the flu and was too aggressive with moves and often ended up doing "sticky" moonwalks. Best HIStory Tour would be Gothenburg!!!

Yokohama = 100% amazing live vocals, and Mike was BAD :]
Bucharest= His vocals weren't in great shape as in for example London or Munich, but compared to Yokohama the dancing were bettr. I voted for Yokohama.

As much as I dig Bad tour as a whole including the Yokohama show, I gotta go with the Bucharest show. IMO, he was fantastic in both, but Bucharest had the crowd reaction. Crowd is a big part of any show. Plus, I feel like the Man In The Mirror finale...alone could make me choose Bucharest over Yokohama, easily.

I think pple are missing the whole point of the thread. its not about the bad tour vs the dangerous tour. its about 2 particular shows from each tour. Yokohoma was a great show but bucharest is better. IT had the better setlist, the crowd was booming, the lighting was better, the dancing was better. the entrance killed it. i mean seriously just cuz yokohoma was apart of the tour that shook the earth doesnt mean it was a better show lol, but to each its own

I agree. It's not about Dangerous vs Bad Tour 'cause in that case i'd say "Bad" all the way, but when you compare these two particular shows, there's just no competition as far as i'm concerned. The Bucharest show absolutely blows Yokohama away. Yokohama was pretty boring compared to the Bucharest show actually. Bucharest was just a much more entertaining show and held my attention the entire time. I never felt bored, not even once like I did during a few times when I was watching Yokohama. The crowd was dead as hell too lol, which didn't help. Yeah i'm all for live singing, but all things considered, it was just not better than the Dangerous performance. No way. I'm glad it's winning!

Bucharest for the win! lol

If I had to go w/ one, I'd go w/ the yokohama, because I love the singing, but only by a tad; plus he looked a lot more "normal" during the bad tour... IMO

Whats wrong with his looks in dangerous?

If I must ...I say YOKOHAMA.
Raw vocals, dance, sexiness.:naughty:

Bucharest was also GREAT but the show was more meant for general audience, meaning under 12 too.

I love Bucharest. That said, I voted Yokohama for the raw talent, energy and live singing sans the dazzling sets and special effects.

The Dangerous Tour was more amazing than any other show seen before, and probably better than HIStory Tour.

Bucharest by a mile.

Yokohama may be 100% live and his vocals are tons better, but Bucharest is just overall a better show. The set list is better, the dancing is better, the lighting is better, the costumes are better.

The only way in which Yokohama is better is the vocals, and to me...all that I listed above more than makes up for the lack of quality in the vocals, or the lack of live singing.

Definitely Yokohama. The simpler stage set-up, not too many gimmicks and as far as I know, sang completely live.

I think that Bad is the better concert - cause Michael was in a great shape. He didnīt even needed more than 5 or 6 seconds to change another costume and go back on stage. The first time Iīve seen Bad in Yokohama on DVD, I was like: wft????? How can he be so quickly??? :)

I say Bucharest. DVD version is great but the unedited version is better. Yokohama concert is a great show but I wanna see the second leg concert. Wembey 1988 would be nice.

It's good but Michael did much better performances on different concerts on the HIStory Tour. The Brunei concert had so much energy

The obsession of live vocals is strange to me.

I mean, yes they are important, but they don't make the show for me. Especially when it comes to Michael Jackson.

1992 gets my vote.

Bucharest all the way. I became fan after watching Billie Jean in Bucharest DVD version. I agree about Yokohama live singing, but Bucharest overall WAY better show and dancing. Pure power and magic of Michael Jackson. I think History tour would be at bottom of my list of favourite tours. Almost all show playback. Some shows Michael was sick and tired. Lack of energy compared to Dangerous tour.

To be honest i never really considered the 1987 leg of the Bad tour to be true Bad tour concerts. I look at it as more of a warm up to the true Bad tour shows in 88/89

Yokohama. Michael's singing was better and he had more energy. I want to see Bad Tour 88 concert too because they are even better.

Personally Bucharest in 1992, but only because I'm terribly biased in favour of the Dangerous era (first one I remember properly) and watched that more times than Yokohama 87. Bucharest has a certain familiarity from the Dangerous songs - the concert has a totally different feel than the Bad Tour because of those tracks, which I love.

Yokohama all the way! The performance is electrifying, the audio is great(!) and the setlist is amazing once you learn to appreciate the older stuff. I think it's safe to say that a Bad Tour '88 show would've won this poll if such a concert was available to us, but - unfortunately - that's not the case.

Bucharest '92 is a fantastic show, but I really hate the audio mix on that concert. Whoever edited the audio for the DVD should go kill themselves. I know it's a bit harsh, but come on! A Michael Jackson concert release deserves more than this low-res, noisy sound mix.

We have BBC verson as well :)

The BBC version doesn't suffer from the same over-editing as the DVD version, but the audio is still terrible in my opinion. Up until WDAN, the instrumentation drowns in a mix of crowd noise and Michael's distant-sounding voice. It's as far from clean as it gets, at least for a pro recording.
