The first time i ever saw Michael was 1992 and i was 4 years old at the time. I remember i was spending the night over my Grandmothers house and my Aunt came in with this video tape called ''Michael Jackson's Moonwalker'' and she told me that i have to check out this movie because it's amazing, now at the time i didn't have any interest in watching the video because like i said i was 4 years old at the time so i was more interested in playing with my Power Ranger toys. But my Aunt kept on and on at me to watch the video and i though ''Ok fine, i'll watch about 5 minutes of it just to humor her'', so i put the tape in and i saw the intro with just Michael's legs walking onto the screen and him doing that spinning thing and doing the toe stand i just couldn't switch the TV off. I was hooked right then and there and that whole montage of his music video's at the start of the movie i thought was just incredible amd the whole Speed Demon part i thought was really cool. The one thing that really blew me away though was the whole Smooth Criminal bit in the movie, i thought that it was really amazing and i remember watching the bit when Michael did ''The Lean'' and shouting out really loud ''How did he do that?'' and i also loved the song The Moon is Walking which is played at the end credits and i remember singing that song in School and people looking at me really confused looks on their faces as if to say ''What the hell is he singing''. Then for my birthday my parents bought me the BAD album and the BAD album is really the first album that i ever owned and i remember making my own Michael Jackson music videos with my fathers video camera. I would get a white hat and wrap black tape around it and i'd get a white shirt and tie a bit of blue cloth around the arm and i remember ''dancing'' infront of the camera thinking that i was Michael Jackson. Michael is really the person who introduced me to music and what i mean by that is that Michael made me check out other artists and other styles of music and it's because of Michael that music is and always will be a big part of my life and i thank him for that

So that was my story of how i became a Michael Jackson fan. What's your story on here about how you became a fan?

I become a fan in 1996, I was 10 yrs old, my mom introduced me to michael's music. I fell in love with his music when I heard Rock with you.

In 1997, I was taken from my father. I was put in a foster home, hearing michael's misuc was the only thing keeping me going. My foster family always insulted michael and the rest of his family. They never did that around me because they knew how mad I'd get if I did hear their harsh words.

In 2004, I met a girl named Celesta, The nice thing about having her around was that if she heard anything bad about Michael, she would always stick up for me, she'd say, "would you say that if kelly was here?!?"

will be contiued...

Well, it was last year, and it was about 2 weeks before Halloween, so my step dad put on "Thriller". I had seen "Thriller" before, and it never affected me, but this time my step dad asked my mom if she wanted him to put on more stuff. He did, and we watched videos/short films, things with Michael Jackson, for about 4-6 hours. I couldn't get enough. I loved it!

I became a fan last year when i seen Jermaine Jackson on Celeb BB and saw how much of a cool nice guy he was. Jermaine mentioned 'Man in the Mirror' and it was played on CBB the next day and i remember how cool a song it was.

So, I looked MJ up on utube and found a vid of him performing 'Smooth Criminal' during the History tour and became a fan from there.

But i'm only 16 and didn't grow up during 'Michaelmania' and people my age don't realise how great MJ is and how much he has inspired the people that they watch.

The first time I remember liking MJ music was about 4-5 years old (im 23 now). I had my old record player back then and always used to play his records. I always used to like watching Moon Walker when I was younger too. There was a short break for about 3 years where I never listened to his music as I was playing in rock bands, but started listening to MJ music everyday again.

My father always used to play MJ albums when I was younger and I used to go to sleep with it on lol.

Actually I first took an interest in Michael when the "Living With Michael Jackson" documentary came out. I fell in love with his personality and was fascinated by the way he seemed to be such a kind, good person, and by his way of relating to the world in general. At that time, though (2003), I was only 11, and no one in my family was a fan of Michael, so I kind of forgot about him for a while. It was sometime in Nov/Dec. 2007 that I happened to come across the video for "You Are Not Alone" on youtube, and since then, I've become a huge fan, bought many albums, DVDs, etc. I drive all my family crazy by playing his music all the time lol. :) I know I am a new fan compared with most of you on this site, but I also know without a doubt that Michael will be a part of my life forever because of how much he means to me and inspires me.

Well, to be honest, I've been a fan of Michael Jackson's music since I was a toddler. My mom was a huge fan in the 80s, and I inherited "Off The Wall," "Thriller," and "Bad" on Vinyl from her.

I sort of lost interest in his music around 1994-95, when I started becoming interested in other bands/artists, but I became a fan again when I was a senior in high school and Invincible came out.

Picture it...

1988..

I was 3 years old....

I was walking in a local store with my mom. I passed the little video section on the middle of the isle. I see this cover that just drawed me in.. The guy with the cool outfit, the hat, doing this cool pose, and cool design in background.. it had the rainbow, a cool looking plane etc.. THE MOONWALKER VHS cover..

http://i21.ebayimg.com/03/c/00/c1/a0/7d_8.JPG

I turned to my mom..

Me: Mom who is that?
Mom:That's Michael jackson he's a singer...... Do you want it?
Me: Ya

I don't remember the 1st time I watched it, I was too much in a zone.. I remember the 2nd time very much.. We invited our neighbors Unis, Sam, and there mother (my moms friend) we all sat around the living room..

I all ready knew that I LOVED Michael. So After every little cool expression, vocal move, EVERYTHING. I kept looking over at other peoples reaction.. I was in AWE..

From then I was HOOKED. I fell in love and became a dance fanatic.. wanting to be JUST like Michael.. I used to go around put socks on my hand for glove.. Or I would break open tapes and rap the film around my arm to have the Bad/Dirty Diana glove.. Put pants on my head sometimes to be the ears. (Rabbit from Speed Demon).. Tore so many shirts..

All ready within 1988-89 I was the Michael Jackson kid.. Still to this day, those who have not seen me since then they first ask me.. "Do you still like Michael Jackson?" "Do you still dance like him?"..

In 1990, I moved to another country, my VHS was not compatable..

But on my 6th Bday my dad took me to a Michael Jackson store in Libya and I picked which ever cover I liked most.. There were at least 50 different tapes. I watched it.. This is when I was introduced to some Dangerous era stuff.. had some other older stuff, plus some videos from Dangerous.. There in Libya, I would lock myself in the living room learn the choergraphy to the videos. then get family to pay to watch me perform.. (A minnie concert).. It would be 1 dollar cover charge.. sometimes people would sneak and watch me from around the corner, and I would get so angry.. I would push them out, or tell them you owe me a dollar..
............................

Well those are the first steps of my MJ fandom.. I still study dance in a deep level.. Try to perfect it.. Love Michaels music.. Just everything..

well ya, I guess this is a good part to stop @..

I don't think I can make it into a story...I've been a fan for as long as I can remember.
My dad was a big fan, and he had posters and stuff so MJ was always a part of my life, there was no particular turning point in which I could way I BECAME a fan, in fact, I think I was born one.
My mum loves Billie Jean and she says she listened to it all the time when she was expecting me so...there ya go. ^_^

I am a fan since the Bad album came out my brother got a copy of it but I took it over from him and my dad bought me a poster at that time and my 2 older brothers were at his concert and got me a t-shirt so I guess someone was telling me something . Even since then I collected so much on Michael even if I didnt have the money for an MJ CD I would have to get it no mater what. I also became memebers of MJ Fan Clubs (it was all magazines that we relied on those days). I met loads of friend through Michael and I am still doing so and I am delighted taht he came into my life. To this day I have never turned back.

I've been a fan for about 5-6 years now. It started when my brother was playing that Vice City Grand Theft Auto game around 2002. I heard Billie Jean playing and I really liked it. I didn't know who sang it (yes, I must've been living under a rock) but I heard it again when I saw a commercial for the Living With Michael Jackson special. So of course I ended up watching it and I fell in love with Michael's personality, his creativity... everything about him. Ever since then I've been a huge fan of his.

^^ ur story reminds me of something..

My best friend and I loved MJ.. and this one guy never understood it.. We always told him, that NO1 can really hate MJ's music, it's people just not giving it time etc..

well a day or two pass, he walks up to me.. "Ya that song on Grand Theft Auto.. I like it, it's pretty cool but that's the ONLY song I like.." he starts to try to sing parts of billie jean.. Then he remembers 'beat it', then he's like.. "ya that one two.. But those are the only two."

then I just say.. "because those are the ONLY two you heard.. You're a fan and you just don't know it." lol

The short version:

I saw a documentary with the new Bad video at the end of the documentary in 1987 just when Bad was coming out. I LOVED the video, loved the song....next day at school EEEEEVERYONE was talking about the video....My parents bought me the Bad album, I LOVED the music...then saw the other videos (The Way You Make Me Feel), etc....and the rest is "HIStory"...

That's the story in a "nutshell".

it's quite astounding that i'm a Michael Jackson fan. My parents never ever listened to music not to mention owning cd's  I was the first in my family to buy a cd :ermm: Anyway, I went into a music store with my best friend in 2001. And there was this Greatest hits album of him. Course I heard of him, so I was curious. And I shouted through the whole store that this was really cool, coz my friend was in the other corner and I had the headphones on. She was quite embarrassed  That's how I became a Fan I guess, coz I bought that CD and a while after, Invincible was released... and then I bought Bad and off the wall and all the other cds...

Well it was nearly ten years ago now. I was about 8 or 9 and we were moving house. I was helping my parents pack away their record collections and came across Thriller. I know Michael Jackson was the huge star, all though I also know he wasn't well liked at the time, so I was curious to hear his music. I put the record on a fell in love from the opening snare hits of Wanna Be Startin' Something. Been a fan ever since.

Lets see...
I asked my mom how I became a Micheal Jackson fan. I asked because I couldn't remember because I was 1 years old when I became a fan. Well on one of my trips to Disneyland (my family goes every year)Captain EO had opened as a new ride attraction. My family went to take me to see it, and that was the first time I ever saw MJ. She said that she saw sparkles in my eyes when he was on screen. When Moonwalker came out in 1988 my brother and I watched it for the first time, and him and i became obsessed with MJ. Well around 1997 I stopped listening to MJ, and got into metal bands, gothic music etc. But I will say when people made fun of MJ it hurt deep inside, but I never told them to shut up. Well in 2005 I started listening him again, but of last year I became obsessed again and he is not going anywhere.

HI I'm new here and a new fan as well, thank to Youtube LOL. I know, it's really predictable LOL. My story is a bit long, I'll try to cut it short though.

I was used to MJ's music since I was a kid. Actually who wasnt lol, cos in the beginning of 90s, MJ's music and videos were all the craze in my country. IF you didnt have the History tape (which contains all his best videos, and sadly, was usually a bootleg. Mine is an Asian country where pirated disks and CDs, DVDs,... have been around for long long time now) in ur house, u werent cool. So I still remember watching Thriller, beat it, Bad, Smooth Criminal, TDCAU,... for hours on ends when I was a kid.

But then I grew up and for some reason, which I guess was the 93 trial case, Mike just disappeared from ppl's radar in my country. I was too little to care about that, so gradually I lost interest in Michael as well. What's worse is that several years later, I kind of turned into a hater due to the media coverage in my country (yes the media's the same everywhere mind you). The press always published the most shocking stories about how ugly Michael had become and how weird he was. And I thought "OMG he's wacky. He want to become white,he's crazy, he even molested a child, blah blah blah,...". At that time I intended to never listen to him again, and sadly at that time I've already forgot how amazing he was. I was like "Ok, he claims himself king, but what did he do to deserve it?I dont care. And he's a criminal" For about 10 years, I never listened to any of his songs, he was just a crazy, ugly self-proclaimed KOP to me during that time.

But for some magical reason, several months ago, a certain event led me to come and watch his Thriller again (I guess it's Fillipino rendition LOL). And I found it just as amazing as I remember as a kid. I was mesmerized all over again. And before I knew it I'd watched Beat it, Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, TWYMMF, BOW, Bad, TDCAU,HTW,WATW,... and would find and watch other videos I hadnt watched before. And then Dirty Diana, Give in to me,man in the mirror, Stranger in Moscow, Human Nature, WBSS,... just blew me away as well. I thought "OMG, I never thought this guy's music could be this good".

I literally became obssessed and then I googled him, wikied him to find out what was there to be discovered. The more I learnt, the more I watched, the more I'm amazed. Especially the videos about the Bad Tour. I've never seen anything like that. But for me to become a fan, I'm still a little bit uncertain about the trial case. And I decided to find out for myself. I googled and then visited his fan pages, and came to a wonderful site, MJJNO. There I learnt about the conspiracy against him, about his amazing qualities as a person, his amazing talent, and how badly the world has treated him. I felt really ashamed of myself to ever think bad about him. And from that time, I officially became a MJ fan, or in the words of my friends and family, a MJ fanatic LOL. I just cant get enough of him, MJ-related stuffs are about 90% of what I searched for on the net, and mind you, I'm an Internet fanatic as well LOL.
That's my story, and sorry cos it's a bit too long LOL.

On a side note, the media's really bad in my country, and most of the ppl here dont think positive about him as a person, but when it comes to his music, all cant resist. My friends, who are not usually into Western music, told me "Ooh he's wacky, but his music is insanely good." I think it's not so bad, isnt it.

Thank for listening and I rest my case LOL. I hope to have a good time here.

It was just in last year. My sister had borrowed Thriller from the local library and I guess she copied it into our computer. I don't remember much about that time anymore, but I have a clear memory about the album laying on the computer desktop. :D That's pretty much all I remember.
In some point I started to listen Thriller and I fell in love with it. I whatched MJ's videos on youtube too. That period continued for a month, I'd say. After that I purchased OTW, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous from web shops. Dangerous was kind of a shock to me, as it was so different from the other ones, but I've learnt to like it too.
Now that's about it. Currently I'm trying to learn the Thriller routine.

I love J5 too, but I don't care so much about the works of The Jacksons. But my sis' borrowed The Jacksons album now, and we'll see, if I'll become The Jacksons fan too. :DD

hmmm...ill add my story....if you can really call it that.

It was around 1992. I don't know what I saw that made me become a fan. I just knew his name back then. I dont know how. My parents didn't care for him much really, so it wasn't from them.

I liked the chipmunks stuff, and there was this video of them I wanted that had them singing tunes of all the different decades from the 50's on up. And the 80's decade was all about Michael Jackson, obviously. So I saw little video snippets of Beat It and Smooth Criminal with Alvin dressed up like Michael added into the videos. Weird.....I know, but thats what I remember. After that was Free Willie, and I may have saw the music video for that as well, so that may have been the start. I also remember making my dad stop at at certain station because I saw the Bucharest concert.

But then I saw Moonwalker.....and that kind of did it in for me. So, that was the true start.

But see, with me, I stopped being a fan around my pre-teen years. I was just interested in different music. I wanted to listen to what everybody else was listening to, and at the time, MJ wasn't it. (Ahhhh, peer pressure.....its a powerful thing)

So literally 6-7mos. ago, I caught the tail end of "The Jacksons: An American Dream" on VH1 and saw the actor impersonating the Motown 25 performance. Well....this prompted me to look on YT and see the original that I knew was better. Then, I kept seeing other MV's that I hadn't seen in years. This all made me remember my childhood and watching countless MJ vids. So I decided to raid iTunes and go hog wild on MJ music I did not have. (I didn't have the CD's as a kid)

But there was also a specific song that I can say that made me want to become a fan of his music again. It was all thanks to thanks to "I Can't Help It" and also "Stranger In Moscow" that drew me back to loving his music again.

Tah Dahhhhhhh! Now I'm as happy as ever!

I didn't even know of him until the trial started lol. I think it was during 2004 when I saw him walking to court, and I thought to myself, wow this guy looks cool (unlike other people). I was 14 at that time. Then I asked my mom about him, and discovered she was a fan. Then I started buying all his videos and cds, found out what a sweet and amazing person he really is! I don't care what people say Michael Jackson is the best!!!! I just hope that he releases more music and makes more videos so we can experience his magic once again.

My mother was always listening to the Jackson 5 when I was little and she told me if I liked that little boy (she would show me the picture of the Jackson 5 on a album cover, but don't remember the name of it) I would just look at her at say, "Ewww no". I was just around 5 or so at the time. My aunt that passed away also loved Michael and I remember she invited me one time to her house to show me how to dance. She had "Off The Wall" on and she would show me some steps that she liked. I would ask her who that was and she said that is Michael from the Jackson 5 and I would be like oh okay. A few years after that in the early 1983 I would hear Billie Jean and I would ask my friend who that was and she would look at me as though I were dumb and say," You are joking, you don't know who that is? That is Michael Jackson." I would then ask if it was a boy or girl and she started laughing at me and said, " Boy you are crazy it's a man."

In May 1983 when Motown 25 came on my mother told me she wanted me to watch the show with her and I was like why? She told me she wanted me to watch the Jackson 5 perform and tell me about them. So I did and when I first laid eyes on Michael I was like mesmerized. I couldn't believe this was the Michael Jackson my parents, friends and aunt had told me about. I was in love and for a 10 year old that was something we just didn't think about back in the day. When he preformed "Billie Jean" on that HIStoric night I turned myself into a fan. It will be 25 years in May when I became a fan. All thanks to my parents, friends, and aunt who introduced me to the man Michael Jackson. :punk::cool:

Wow! I feel like I've been sitting in the theater for hours while everybody else came in around the middle or the end of the movie! My fandom started waaaaay back in 1968!. I had found a picture of the Jackson 5 in a Jet magazine (one inch square and in black and white) and I taped it up to my wall. Later, there was the big beautiful color photo of the whole family from Ebony magazine that I somehow ripped off and had managed to tape to my wall. I had not yet got the "mania" but then the advertisements for the Jackson 5 appearing on the Ed Sullivan show and OMG! We would hear the music coming from the TV and everybody in the house would about break their necks getting to the TV just to get a glimpse of them and watch the commercial. (Kinda like those of you who waited for Thriller to come on MTV). After seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show, I was hooked and it has been
a life-long obsession with me. At one point, at the age of 18, I thought I would let it go but
then I realized that neither the Jacksons nor Michael was going away and my obsession was not diminishing so I decided that as long as the Jacksons were around, I would be an avid fan!

Ticie,

The story of how I became an MJ fan is pretty long and boring, but I'll post it anyway

My first memory of anything MJ was in 92. I saw a picture of him in the newspaper and I was studying it because I was sure he was a girl, despite mum telling me that he was a guy (don't shoot me  When you're a young kid, you kind of associate long hair with girls, and short hair with boys and Michael had long hair). We didn't really have any MJ cd's in the house. I was living with my uncle at that time, and all his music collection consisted of was Elvis and the Beatles. I was a huge fan of Elvis, not because I liked his music, but because he was all I ever knew, as my uncle was a big fan of his and wouldn't stop listening to him. But I didn't really know who Michael Jackson was. I knew of his name, I knew he was famous, but I didn't really know why.

Ok now fast forward to 1996. Michael Jackson came to Australia for his history tour. I remember seeing news clips of his trip over here but I didn't really care. He was all over tv, on the news, in the newspapers, and I was just like "What's so great about him?". So anyway, when Michael did the concert here, they broadcasted it on television (I don't think it was live though, it was broadcasted like a year later to promote the Blood on the Dancefloor cd). One of my mum's friends was a big fan of Michael Jackson, and asked my mother to record the concert for him because he couldn't. So my mum recorded the concert. The next day everyone was talking about the concert and how cool Michael Jackson was. Out of curiosity, I just sat down and watched the tape, just to figure out what all the fuss was about... and I couldn't believe my eyes! It was like I was living under a rock  I was like "OMG! OMG! this guy is amazing!!!" I just kept rewinding it over and over again, as soon as he started dancing, I would have my finger on the rewind button just in case I missed something the first time I watched it. Then my mother gave the tape to the guy and told him that I really liked the concert. He said he would make a copy of the tape and then give it back to me, but I never saw it again. I was devestated. So I started searching for the concert in all the music shops I could find. After I couldn't find it, I kinda gave up and just brought a VHS tape called "history - greatest hits." After watching the video hundreds of times, I quickly saved up my pocket money and bought History, Blood on the Dancefloor and Off the Wall. Michaelmania had begun, and no one in my family were prepared for it! It was like discovering a whole new world, one I didn't even know existed. I used to go in my room, put Michael's music up full blast, and try to imitate him. Because I couldn't find many MJ posters in the stores, I used to draw them and put them up on my walls. I was obsessed! I started collected things because they had a little connection to MJ... Fedora hats, gloves... I even bought Janet's album, not because I liked her music, but because she was Michael's sister! But my love for MJ didn't last long.

Once my friends lost interest in him, I did too, and I started getting into other singers like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys  And I'll admit, I'm ashamed to admit it, but I will. I did think he was weird and strange and freaky and all that stuff. When he dangled Blanket over a balcony, I thought "Why in the world was I a fan of this man! He's a freak!". But when I saw the Living with Michael Jackson documentary, even though everyone was saying he was a freak the next day, I thought he was really nice. I thought he was a nice person, he saved that boys life, you could tell he really cared for children, so I wondered what everyone's problem was. Even though, I still thought he was kind of freaky, at least I understood him a little better after seeing that documentary. And then I saw "Private home movies" and thought, "not only is this guy nice, he's so normal too." I remember talking to my friend the next day about it, and she said that he just looked like fun, like you would have a blast hanging out with him.

And then the charges came out... I wasn't really a fan at this point, but I knew it was all for money. So I decided to investigate further. I came across this fan site called MJHQ.com and I think that was the real turning point for me. Just talking to the other fans, and seeing how everyone was saying that Michael is so misunderstood and people portray him as being something he's not. That's when I realised that there was so much more to the story then what the news reports were showing. Like the mother of the accuser and the kids all having a history of lying in court and them going after money from other celebrities and hiring a lawyer before going to the police and all of that stuff. Then I kept coming back to get updates on the trial, and while I was there I would download concerts and performances, talked to other fans about Michael and his music, and I became a fan. It was inevitable. I bought all his albums and dvds and I've been a fan ever since. That was around 2004 and it's 2008 now, so I've been a fan for around 4 years, and that's excluding the time that I liked him in the 90's. So I've kind of gone in and out of liking him since around '97, so yeah, 11 years  Before I was like "I can't believe I liked him!" and now it's like "I can't believe I hated him!"

So yeah, that's the story of how I became fan. I know it's so long and boring... I hope someone found it interesting

Well my big sister was a huge fan when she was younger and about 5-4 years ago I just decided to listen what's this 'Michael Jackson' like.
I listened to Invincible, BOTD and some Greatest Hits collections and it was Earth Song remix from BOTD that made me fan.
I just fell in love with that song and because it's the first song I really listened I have a special connection with Earth Song ^_^
So that was the start..
I'm happy that my sister was also a fan because now I can find her 'fan stuff' like t-shirts and pictures of Michael (and Janet) and I can take them to my own use

I remember in spring 2005 when I just had started comprehensive school I joined to MJJForum.. So I have been fan for about 4 years now ^_^
I know that's not very much but I'm glad it happened anyway.

I've just become a fan 2 weeks ago. I was watching American Idol Season 7 and there was this contestant, David Cook singing Billie Jean. Aside from the fact that Cook sang the song very well vocally and performance-wise, what really caught my attention was the quality of the SONG itself, which was enough to make me rewatch the performance on youtube.

So I started reading the youtube comments and oh hey - it's a Michael Jackson song! (Amazingly enough, I never knew any Michael songs but Heal the World up till now.) So I clicked on the original video of Billie Jean in the 'Related Videos' section on the side and thought - ok, this song is good.

But the video alone wasn't quite enough the catch my attention fully, until of course - I clicked on a LIVE performance of Billie Jean. Now that sure made me sit up in my seat. I swear the energy and excitement of the dance, music and performance came through so clearly even on a fuzzy youtube video.

And so just through one Billie Jean live performance on youtube, Michael Jackson converted me into a fan. The next chance I could, I went out hunting down Michael CDs. It's just 2 weeks later and I've been reading all the fan boards and possess Thriller 25, Bad, Dangerous and Invincible, which is all that I can find for now.

Interestingly enough, though, I didn't even know about Thriller 25, but got converted through youtube. So I believe Michael Jackson, who has quite the presence on youtube, can and is still gaining new fans through that medium. And I'm from the generation who listens to Rihanna and Beyonce and Usher on Top 40 radio, but the quality of Michael's music really shines through immediately.

It's also interesting how the tabloid nonsense has really slanted perspectives of him, too. My parents never played much music in the house, so even though I grew up in the 90's I never heard Michael's music, nor really knew how big he was. So when I finally became old enough to read the papers and the news by myself, the tabloid stuff about 'dangling babies' and the molestation trial came along - by which time I just casually glanced at it and thought - eh - "messed up guy".

Of course, now, after reading through all the fanboards and concrete facts, I don't think so anymore. But it just shows how much the media slants everything, and my eyes weren't opened till I heard the MUSIC.

And that is how I became a Michael Jackson fan.

I was 2 years old, my mom was in nursing school and my brother was a year older. I was the usual busy body always breaking things and getting n2 trouble which would take my mom away 4rm her studies. So one day she was flipping thru the channels and this was the day the bucharest show aired on HBO. as soon as she hit HBO thats when Mike jumped at what seemed like a billion feet in the air 2 me and landed on that stage with thos sparks of rain behind me. She (my mother) Said i froze and stared and the tv, and plopped myself right down there and watched the whole thing for 2hrs straight. So of course she got her studying done and she also taped it. (i still have the tape..its 16 yrs old lol) so whenever she needed 2 study she popped n that tape and i was mesmerized each time sittin there. Her sorority sister was also a huge mj fan. she gave me moonwalker when i was about 3yrs old..haha i use 2 refer 2 spike as mr bunny dancin wit michael lol

I became a fan when Black or White was released. I was about 8 or so when I saw the short film on television at a friend's house. And of course it was love at first sight although I knew absolutely nothing about MJ. My friend had to tell me his name.

On a side not - I'm happy to see I'm not the only one here who has a 16 year old vhs copy of the Bucharest concert!

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. My mother was always a fan playing Jackson 5 albums and the Thriller album. I knew who he was and I knew a lot of his songs, but I never took the time to actually listen and appreciate Michael's talent. It wasn't that I didn't like him, but I just simply didn't care. Then one day the Smooth Criminal video was on tv and he simply amazed me... and to this day I'm still at this stage of amazement, lol.

Hey, today is my "official" 39th anniversary of becoming a Jackson fan. I was a fan before then but I recall it was the last day of school in 1969 and I was waking down to the park when I saw my younger cousin who was on her way home. She had a TCB magazine (the one featuring the Jackson 5). She showed it to me and I was moonstruck! She gave me that magazine and I still have parts of it in my original J5 scrapbook along with loads and loads of magazines and memorabilia I have been collecting over the past 39+ years!:punk:

Woah, I'd freakin love to see your collection.. have any pics?

Ilsa, I love your story!!!

I became a fan around the dangerous era. My mom and my brothers listened to Michael Jackson. My mom had the video Moonwalker and when I was little.. I was about 10 years old.. I'd watch that moonwalker video. I just loved the story and the movie with MJ. I thought he was SO cute. Then when Dangerous came out I remember watching the Oprah interview with MJ LIVE.... and I remember being very excited and my whole family sat there in the living room and watched it. We recorded it on tape, and I still have the original tape. Also.. just all the promotion during the Dangerous era is when I became a fan. The superbowl I remember, and the LIVE HBO concert I remember.

I also remember that when the allegations came out I didn't believe a word because when I became a fan I was also a fan of the Humanitarian Michael Jackson. I loved the song HEAL THE WORLD, and I love the MAN IN THE MIRROR video especially. Those songs just touched me when I was little. So the allegations, I thought were lies. And well turns out.. they WERE LIES. lol... anyways, that's how I became a fan.. Since Dangerous my fandom just grew, and grew, and grew. It wasn't untill 1996-1999 is when I became REALLY OBSESSED... but I still am in a way, just not as much as then....

On the other hand, I am extremly excited for Michael's new album. I just can't wait!
later I will tell you how my friend became a fan, cuz people love her story.

Nice reading everyone's first experiences.

Honestly, I became interested in Michael officially in around December of 2003, when I saw the LWMJ doc (yeah I know, unfortunately, but let's not focus on the negative). There was nothing else good on TV, and so I remember just sitting there, watching MJ on tv, looking cute, being nice, climbing that tree. He had this amazing aurora emerging from him that I couldn't explain, and after in ended, I was just like :o lol and actually, thinking back on that day... I could've been one of those who would think, 'wow that was strange' or 'god somethings errie with him' but nope. I saw a completely sane, wonderful, kind, cute MJ. I even wrote an entry in a journal about him  :giggle:

So yeah, after that, I was completely interested, making sure to find anything and everything about him, and watched whatever that was on tv about him. Lovely, lovely... (I was completely oblivious that he was going through that trial during the time, but I guess that was because the case was pending or whatever)and they had this video marathon with all of MJ on there and that was the icing on the cake for me. He really got me; dancing, singing, omg man lol!

So fast foward, and here I am, at this fansite, sharing my thoughts with thousands of others that love and admire the KOP.

I know this is a much older thread, but I enjoyed the stories, and I wanted to add my own. :)

I became a fan of Michael's in 1991 at the age of four. My cousin Ashley, who is a few years older than myself, and I would always hang out in her room and listen to music when I went to her house. One day she put in the "Dangerous" cassette, and I was hooked!! Then I seen a picture of Michael, and I fell in love. MJ was my first crush. I have a home video of Ashley and I dancing in her room to "Black or White" and "Who Is It". I cherish that video so much.

"Bad" was the first MJ cassette I owned, then eventually my parents bought the "Dangerous" cassette for me. I can still clearly remember walking into the music store, and my parents telling me that they were going to buy "Dangerous" for me. I was so happy. :D

I can also remember my parents allowing me to stay up and watch the World premiere of "Black or White" on FOX.

I lived in a neighborhood where there were not many children my age to play with, so I sometimes felt rather lonely, and I had to find ways to entertain myself. Michael was always the solution. I'd stay in my room all day listening to his music, fantasizing about being in one of his videos...etc. Michael and his music gave me such a fun childhood. I really miss the 90's.

I was a little kid...I was born in the upcoming "Bad" era so those are the earliest memories (I know I was very young...but I think I even remember when he stopped by Arsenio Hall lol) and guess what???

I watched the Moonwalker VHS EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
I was surrounded by Michael Jackson fans, I remember having the Bad album on cassette, and just always watching his videos as a young girl. Being a Michael Jackson fan was mandatory in our household and it still is. Omg I thought he was sooo freaking cute, I never wanted anyone to know so everytime he was on TV I'd either run away or sit with my lips sealed because I didnt want anyone to know I was so attracted to him, he was the first pretty boy I was ever attracted to, I loved his eyes, his eyebrows, his hair, and I loved his smile soooo much. I also loved when he would pout his lips...I felt so naughty being attracted to him lol.

I remember I was so excited to sing "We Are The World" for kindergarten graduation, I was like "OMG I love this song, were gonna sing Michael Jackson!!!" and then we didnt because the other kids had difficulty learning the song.

Watching Michael's videos premier on TV was a huge event in our house.

It was a long time before I admitted how much I loved him...but I used to get so angry anytime someone said something mean, or imitated Michael and I'm still that way today. I hated the "Badder" segment of Moonwalker because anytime someone imitated MJ it bugged the hell out of me. I even remember one time my cousin played a mean trick on me and told me Michael died...I wanted to punch his lights out so bad because he almost made me cry, I also remember when La Toya was saying those bad things about him...I was like "What a mean girl, how could she say those things about her own brother??"
I was so jealous when he married Lisa Marie..at first I didnt know why but when I got older I felt like no woman was good enough for him.

I was and still am a very protective fan of Michael....and I'm damn proud of it:wub::wub::wub::wub: I'm proud that a new generation of MJ fans has emerged into my family, my little niece sleeps with Michael Jackson picture under her pillow and she calls him "her twin" lol and ny 1 year old nephew goes around the house crotch grabbing and dancing to "Thriller" he know exactly what part to throw his hands in the air lol.

I said how I became a fan in my very first post :) (which I don't know if somebody read it... I think who came in the thread immediately left thinkin "tl;dr" )

Sorry for this very long post, but I really feel like I have to share my thoughts somehow… This is only my personal opinion; it may be different from yours…

I’m ashamed to confess that I became a Michael Jackson fan only after his sad death … I feel miserable for that … My only excuse is that when I quitted watching cartoons all day long (around 2003) and started to realize what music is about, the music channels barely showed Michael’s outstanding videos (they considered them too ‘old’ I think) and seeing him on news channels with trials, gossips and made-up stories couldn’t make me understand how a big artist, performer and human being he was …

Of course, after he passed away all the TV channels started to show him all day long and realized how a big loss to music this was … Why couldn’t they realize how an extraordinary talented man he was while he was still living (I’m mainly talking about the last years, in my point of view)? He would’ve been happier if the media posted this kind of stuff instead of all the lies and gossips which made him so sad… Why did he had to endure all those nasty accusations, all those made-up stories and all those awful lies when his only wish was to make the world a better place? Is this what a pure, innocent and loving soul deserves? Why did most of the world (excluding earlier fans whom I admire, but including me) started to appreciate the artist, the performer and the man Michael Jackson at the level he deserved only after his death? And another thing that bugs me… Why do people realize how important something or someone was to them only after they lose it/him/her?

And I think I have the answer… Sad but true…
“If they say –
Why, why, tell ‘em that is human nature”…

I just can’t stop listening to his songs, saving pictures of him, making wallpapers and avatars and downloading his vids… I even started writing in a notebook all his songs that I love and I’ve made drawings which have to do with the song next to the lyrics! But I feel awful that I wasn’t there for him as a fan while he was alive and sometimes I feel my excuse isn’t good enough …

These days I kept on thinkin’: “Better sooner than later… But better late than never…” Am I right? Am I worthy of being a part of this forum?

I really think that Michael watches us from heaven… He’s gone to really walk on the moon … Rest in peace, Michael!

P.S.: I’m kinda new around here… I hope that this is the right forum…

I became a MJ Stan at the tender age of 5 (in 1995), when my parents had this MJ Laser Disc with all of his with all of his videos on it I think this was released along with the HIStory album..ever since the first time I saw it, He immediately became my favorite artist!

how did i become an MJ fan? simple. i was born.

seriously...i was born in 1980, the perfect time to grow up watching MJ's rise to superstardom. some of my earliest music memories are of my parents playing the Triumph and Destiny albums (yes, albums...those big, black 12-inch or so round things with grooves in them that play music when you put them in that thing with the handle that has a needle on the end). i clearly remember my brother and i as little kids dancing around the house to Jacksons music. we watched every single MJ video and performance and documentary and anything else MJ-related so many times, it was ridiculous. every time there was an MJ weekend on MTV, we watched it. i've seen The Making of Thriller so many times, i didn't even need to buy the video. i had the whole thing memorized. the Bad era is practically the focal point of my childhood. my parents took us to see him on the Bad Tour in Atlanta in 1988. i still have my ticket stub. and i remember seeing Captain EO at Epcot Center at Disneyworld. ah, the 80's...what a great time to be alive. :)

i'm so glad i was born at that time because i have SO many memories based around MJ's music and videos and TV appearances. his music really was the soundtrack of my childhood. his passing caused such a deep, hurtful sadness in my soul that people who aren't fans or are only casual fans could never understand.

anyway, that's my story. glad to be here. :)

You know I am not exactly sure how I became a fan of Michael's in the first place. I have like 2 different theories of how I became one. I either became a fan on January 5th 1980. I was just a day old and American Bandstand was playing Michael's one song Rock With You. And people there were all dancing to it. Or I became a fan by watching those Jackson 5 cartoons that I was so in love with when I was 4 years old. I remember Michael was my number 1 favorite character on those cartoons. It really doesn't matter to me of how I became a Michael Jackson fan. I am just extremely glad that I am one. And I will stay one until the end of eternity and beyond that.

It was December 2003 and my mum got me the Number Ones DVD for Christmas. I was thinking :S What has she got me this for?

That very thought makes me LAUGH MY ASSS OFF :|

However, I put it in and only watched Billie Jean and You Rock My World as they were the only two I knew. WHAT A DUMBASS :|

About 9 months later I came home from school and decided to watch it. So then I watched some of the songs, then next all of the songs. Next thing I knew I was watching it everyday after school.......then I started to try and learn the moonwalk. I was obsessed with the songs and even more obsessed with the dancing. Its had me hooked since, only Michael Jackson has that power!

While that made me quite a fan, it really blew up when I saw the Bucharest show. The Billie Jean performance from that concert had me hooked for life. It had become an obsession almost.

Funny thing is, I got the Bucharest concert for my birthday. Which was June 13th 2005. . . . . little did I know what would appear on the news later that day! 'Michael Jackson verdict imminent' Ill never forget that. I cant believe it happened on my birthday!

It actually makes me really sad to think about how I became a fan, all I had ever wanted was to see him live. There was a long period of time where I didnt even think it would happen! But we were so close, and Michael was so ready.

Just like me! I'll never forget the very first time I successfully tied my own shoe, the cartoon's opening was playing in the background, "...easy as 1, 2, 3!"

As for how I became a fan of Michael himself: growing up, my oldest brother had his cds, and my other brothers would always sing and dance to his songs. You name it, they would dance to it (and I would try to imitate). This in itself is a miracle, because not a single other artist can get my brothers or myself to even attempt to dance  When the Scream video came out, I was 7, and loved to pretend I was Janet and one of my brothers was Michael.

My obsession grew through the years, and has never died down. I love everything about the man.

Desired.

I became a fan in the mid/late 90's, because my mother is a fan, and she would play his music all the time while I was growing up. I would also watch those music channels like "VH1 Soul" that plays videos 24/7 and they would always play Michael on there.

I'll never forget when i became a fan.

It was 1991 and it was Novemeber. Fox was premiring Black or White and My mom wanted me to watch it. I was only 8 so i wasnt that interested but i decided to anyways. it was the best decision of my life! I was glued to Michael. The video was amazing and his voice was so beautiful! After that i was sold. I learned more about him and got more of his music. the 1st album i ever owned was Dangerous and it was right after it was released. I would listen to Michael's music everyday. my mom worked late nights at a countary club in a trailer park and after school i would go to a babysitters near by and then go to my mom's work just up the street. there was a stereo set up and i would listen to the dangerouis album so many times i think everyone was sick of it lol but i didnt care.

I remmeber after becomming a fan i would always watch every single one of Michael's video premires on tv and when i could watch him on MTV all day when i was anywhere near a tv set that had cable. When i was go to my baby sitters eather after school or im the summer they had Michael's moonwalker video game and i would play that as much as i could or just watch. eather way it was Michael and i was happy.

I remmeber in the 5th grade i discovered in one of the many schools i went to they had a Michael Jackson book in the libary. i checked it out so much that i even knew where it was every single time i did! i read it front to back everytime and i loved it!

I never ever believed anything written about him even as a kid. i didnt want to and i knew he wouldnt want me to. so i didnt. i woudl always get so angry when anyone said anything mean about michael or made fun of him even just on tv. It was hard being a fan bc everyone was so rude when it came to him. But i did the best i could and still till this say i try not to let it all get to me even after michael's passing but its hard not to when ppl who are supposed to care about you continue to trash him.

Since i became a fan i dreamed about meeting him and seeing him perform in concert. sadly i never got the chance to do eather. I know Im not the only one who hasnt and i know how painful that is. I will always miss him and i will always love him from the bottom of my heart. He is my forever king.

I became a fan when I was 12 years old. I think it was 1997 when one day my cousin gave me a tape (literally, a tape, a casette, that is) with a man wearing cool black jacket and black pants with pieces of metal decorations on. I was like "who is this", and she screamed out his name to me. she was already a fan then. And then she played the tape and I just began to rock with the first beat of the first song on that record - "the way you make me feel" I just couldn't stop listening to the song and moving my ass with the beat. and when he gave me that "GO ON GIRL, OW!!" I was like...crazy...and I kept listening, one song after another, and when the beat of Smooth Criminal Gradually faded out, I took out the cassette, turned it around to side A, and play it all over again. Then a few days later, I saw the video of rember the time on TV, I was blown away: the dance, the costume, the story, his image, his voice, the music. it was just perfect! I've never seen a video like that. then I was like "Why the hell isn't that song on the tape I heard a few days ago?" That's when I decided to rob my Dad of some money and ran to the store to get DANGEROUS. and then HISTORY, and then OFF THE WALL and THRILLER, and MJ posters, pictures, videotapes, VCDs, DVDs, and....and... and I became a JACKSONHOLIC...

how did i become an MJ fan? simple. i was born.

seriously...i was born in 1980, the perfect time to grow up watching MJ's rise to superstardom. some of my earliest music memories are of my parents playing the Triumph and Destiny albums (yes, albums...those big, black 12-inch or so round things with grooves in them that play music when you put them in that thing with the handle that has a needle on the end). i clearly remember my brother and i as little kids dancing around the house to Jacksons music. we watched every single MJ video and performance and documentary and anything else MJ-related so many times, it was ridiculous. every time there was an MJ weekend on MTV, we watched it. i've seen The Making of Thriller so many times, i didn't even need to buy the video. i had the whole thing memorized. the Bad era is practically the focal point of my childhood. my parents took us to see him on the Bad Tour in Atlanta in 1988. i still have my ticket stub. and i remember seeing Captain EO at Epcot Center at Disneyworld. ah, the 80's...what a great time to be alive. :)

i'm so glad i was born at that time because i have SO many memories based around MJ's music and videos and TV appearances. his music really was the soundtrack of my childhood. his passing caused such a deep, hurtful sadness in my soul that people who aren't fans or are only casual fans could never understand.

anyway, that's my story. glad to be here. :)

wow thts a cool story you were so lucky to be born at that time i would give anything to be born during of before the 80s when mj was massive!
i was born in 1993 which is ok but i was only a kid so i didnt really grow up with him but actually i became a proper fan last yr unfortunately when he died i remember waking up and seeing on this morning show that michael jackson had died. i had tears in my eyes and i was thinking bout it all day at school. then i was on holidays so i was fixed to the t.v watching everything then they played the 30th anniversary show i watched billie jean and i was hooked he blew me away ive never seen anyone like michael in my life his talent still amazes me and ive watched him a gazzilion times!

I was 5, the album BAD just came out, and I remember an audio cassette, white with a yellow label we listened all the time! my cousin who lived in a flat upstairs got it from her dad, my uncle, who was an MJ fan.. then we soon watched the Moonwalker when it got out on VHS, I remember how we cried on that scene when he was kicked in the stomach.
we loved him instantly, and ever since..

Well, it was 1992 (I was 10 years old) and my country was barely out of communism. We haven't had experienced any major events in the entertainment area, when Michael stopped by in October (on the now famous Dangerous World Tour - Live in Bucharest). There was extensive coverage of Michael's visit here, everybody looked excited that such a superstar came to Romania. I was living close to the stadium where the concert took place and I remember hearing the fans calling Michael's name starting with the very morning of the concert, until late at night. You can imagine that, as a little girl, I was really impressed with this. Me and the kids living in my building joined the name chanting from afar that day. The enthusiasm continued even after Michael left. I started begging my mom to buy me his music, t-shirts, pins, anything that got to do with him. Later, when Michael returned with his HIStory tour, I was on the stadium singing along and chanting his name. It was an extraordinary experience and I'll always be proud that I got to see him live!
And from then on my story will continue forever...

wenty one years ago I was born with cerebal palsy. The horrible stories are not lingering in my head, as I was too young, but getting to an age of nine, I noticed that something wasn't right. It was that I couldn't play on swings, play football or anything like that, but to help me was my very close friends.
It was hitting me at night time one night time as the normal routine was happening, you know, eating supper, then reading a book, then going to sleep. One night time we couldn't find a book to read, someone put the radio on about eight o'clock, you know about that time I used to think what a rare life I had, still listening to the radio, a song came on, it went a bit like this: 'another day has gone, I'm still all alone, how could this be, that you're not here with me.?' I asked quite quickly who is this? My carer said isn't it Michael Jackson, I said 'yes, but what is it called?' before the carer could say anything I heard the four words 'you are not alone', at that second I became a big fan. The carer that was here for eight years but has now gone, but I'm being helped by Michael to get over it. The carer said 'I've got the video', my mind went blank, I didn't know what he looked like and was he saving lives on the video, like he did mine? I borrowed it the next day and he looked so caring and innocent, and from there on I've been calling him my Dad, because my Dad left my Mum and when I was only young, this is creepy listen, when Michael was only five years old, he couldn't play football or go on swings, and he had got a Dad, but his Dad used to beat him up. There are so many comparisons that I can't think of them all right now.
Years ago I had a carer called Helen, we used to play babyish games because Mum couldn't play with me when I was young. In the end Mum got worried because I was fifteen gong on sixteen and we kept playing these games, but that's because I didn't get a childhood, like Michael didn't. She went two years ago, again, like the carer that went after eight years, Michael helped me, but for this carer it was a song called 'have you seen my childhood?'
Now I will get to where I was going in this story. I've got a better life but not a normal life. I get hurt from my hands hitting my head from the involuntary body movements I have, I have medicine three times a day, and every time I go into hospital I wear a T-shirt because I've seen Michael visiting hospitals, so when I wear a T-shirt with him on it, it's like he's with me.
I'm not joking, but you can forget this part if you don't believe me, last year I had to go into hospital for a big back operation and they had their own radio station, which I don't think you can request any songs, but on the morning of the operation, what came on the radio? 'another day has gone, I'm still all alone, how could this be. that you're not here with me?'. That's right it was 'you are not alone', obviously by Michael Jackson. It took fourteen days to get over the operation, but as you can guess, it wasn't only the family and careers that helped me get over it, it was like Michael in spirit. No more songs came on, except for the one that Mum did request.
Unlike 'you are not alone', that was a year ago, but 5 years ago something disgusting and disrespectful happened to Michael, he was accused of child molestation. If I could have been in that courtroom I would have, but because I can't get on a plane because I cannot sit in a plane seat, they will not let a chair on board, which I find disgusting and bias, anyway I would have had to pay two carers. But I know that Michael believes in all of his fans that were supporting him through the awful trial. So don't you get it? I eat, drink and breathe for Michael. So if it wasn't for Michael's song, 'you are not alone', I wonder if i would still be eating or drinking, or in a corner of a room rocking back and forward, or hey, I've got to be truthful, I might not even be here. Thanks to Michael, I feel that I can conquer anything, because Michael loves his fans, if you don't believe me about him being a lifesaver, do go on the internet, there is a website that has a story about a woman, he saved her life, and she became a fan, the same way I became a fan.

December 25th in 1991, around 8 or 9 pm :P

I was 8 and My big bro (13) was a fan at the time, and he was talking all day about this movie he have to tape at night: "Monwalker by MJ"

I remember I was like: "Michael Jackson? ok, let's see what's he has to offer" or something like that.

The minute I saw him singing Man in the Mirror I couldn't believe my eyes!! and my ears!!
That was love at first sight  My brother taped that video supposedly for himself but I couldn't stop watching it, thank God we were on holidays!

My earliest really clear memory of Michael today is of seeing the Earth Song song and video on TV, when I would've been eight (if I'd seen it straight away, in late '95). I'm not sure why my memory doesn't go back further than that - I was born in the late '80s, so perhaps I was born a bit too late to see much of the Dangerous campaign or something. Or maybe I did see videos like BOW or WYBT or Beat It, Billie Jean or Thriller, but just wasn't interested enough in music to remember it clearly until the mid-'90s. Who knows.

Anyway, shortly after first getting the internet at home in August 2000, I eventually ordered HIStory in January 2001 from Amazon, when I was 13/14. I played it loads, and in the years between '01 to '09, became a general 'fan' of his - he was one of many, rather than the artist I undisputedly listened to most. I followed everything that was going on with Invincible, like the singles campaign, but didn't buy it, and also watched LWMJ and contributed to an internet discussion at the time, agreeing with those who said that MJ was hardly as bad as he had been presented. I kept checking on his progress throughout the trial and on the rumoured upcoming album for years afterwards, and like so many people, was massively shocked by his sudden death.

Since then, there's been a massive resurgence in my interest in Michael. Maybe I took him almost for granted beforehand, or just had other interests in my life in earlier periods, but still, I had no idea whatsoever about the extent of his supposed health/money problems during his later life. Anyway, I eventually joined the MaxJax forum in December '09, and joined this forum recently. So there you go.

An angel descended from the heavens and bestowed upon the Earth a video that would change the face of videos and set the trend for music videos of the future. That video featured Michallah and Janhova Christson dancing and singing in unison. That video would later be called "Scream". It was then I accepted Michallah into my heart as my Lord and Savior.

It's very simple really.
As a kid growing up, that's who we heard on the radio, the record shops,
and our own homes, the Jackson 5.
Naturally one can't help but be drawn to them....to him.
And I've followed his career ever since. :)

I remember like it was today. I was watching TV with my brothers when I saw commercial launch of Thriller was going to happen on Sunday on television in Brazil.
When I saw the video images my first reaction was fear. I can not remember if I knew Michael before this day.
Sunday came and I had class in the morning. My father would have me go to sleep because it was late and he would not let me see Thriller, because seemed as much terror for a child. I did everything I could to stay and watch the short film.
I Remember - I, my parents and brothers watched the short film together. I was a little scared, but then I found myself trying to emulate some dance moves to Thriller.
When the presenters just announced that the end would reprise the short film, course I wanna see again. Only this time I was not sitting, but in front of the TV trying to imitate the moves of Michael and the zombies.
When I was going to sleep I heard my father telling my mother: "Will they have nightmares at night?"
I do not remember having nightmares, but the next day my father bought VHS tape (I am the time of the VHS, lol) and I left ready to record "Thriller" at the first opportunity I had.
