How do you put video files onto DVD?

Does anybody know how to put mpg video files onto a DVD so it is watchable through the DVD player? Do I need a special program and what type of DVD discs do I need? I currently have DVD-R discs.:huh:

theres lots of software avaliable to put video files on dvd, thats just one..:)
