That's right folks, a Michael Jackson fashion line (http://www.catwalkqueen.tv/2008/06/psst_is_michael.html) is definitely in the pipeline. Ed Hardy's Christian Audigier confirmed the news yesterday, telling PEOPLE (http://offtherack.people.com/2008/06/24/michael-jackson-turns-clothing-designer/): "It's the merging of the King of Pop with the king of fashion. Something explosive is going to happen."

Erm... King of fashion? Got tickets, much?!

It's good to see Michael's making moves. I can't really say I personally like Audigier's designs, but I'd love to see what those two together could come up with. Should be very interesting.

I'm still excited they're making "bling gloves."

So with the sparkly gloves and gangsta hats officially on their way, where will such a collection be sold? Kitson... naturally. The boutique's loose-lipped owner, Fraser Ross, spoke of his decision to exclusively stock the forthcoming line.

"Michael Jackson is an international pop icon who has had a huge following throughout his career," he said. "I think people will think it's hip to wear his line. Through all his ups and downs people still love him. He still has a huge fan base."

.. sounds exciting. What`s up with the Ed Hardy/Michael Jackson Grand Opening in Vegas on 4th July?

So it wont be sold in Europe?

Well, I think what they're doing is just selling them in certain places like Kitson just to see how it goes. I'm sure if the line does well, they'll expand on the marketing.

I have always wished that Michael would come out with a mainstream urban directed clothing line. I think he has a very unique sense of style that honestly has a hidden meaning of resilience and honor hense the military garb. Add this soldier because I would definately support and rock a cool fashion line by the King of it all, Michael Jackson.

Virginia Beach Recording Studio Burns Down

A Virginia Beach, Va. recording studio, where songs for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Heavy D were produced, has burned down, fire officials said.
The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot said producer Teddy Riley's abandoned Future Records Recording Studios burned down Tuesday morning.

Riley has had financial and legal problems in recent years, owing about $1 million earlier this year. He also had defaulted on a loan against the studio.
Lawyers agreed in February to seek a buyer for the 3,300-square-foot studio and late last month, an auction was held to sell the building, but no one met the opening bid of $500,000, the Virginian-Pilot said.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, fire officials told the newspaper. (c) UPI

I really hope it is not limited to just that little shop in hollywood..

I mean what's good about it is that a lot of celebs shop there.. So celebs will end up wearing MJ's brand.. The downfall is the public really wont be wearing it..

Goes both ways..

I hope this is just a tester, and will be released all over.

I noticed that myself watching BET. I also noticed he was hanging with a small kid dressed similar to him at the BET Awards. OMG He is really over-imulating Michael Jackson! Part of me thinks it's great and positive however, considering he is such an apparantly huge product of the King of Pop and his success highlights his influences genius as well. That's mad props! So, I love Chris Brown for that.

No big mystery actually. The thing that is funny is that I have a hard time picturing Michael with any of Christian Audigier's clothes. The only thing that he puts out for men are tee shirts, hoodies, and board shorts.

I think Chris Brown is a good talented kid. He's no MJ but he's okay at what he does. His homages to Michael are kinda sweet, imo. People like Chris and Neyo, etc. are just keeping the MJ vibe alive fluffed up until..... :shifty: And I don't think his entire act is MJish. He does a bit of his own thing with the acrobatics and whatnot. I hate to see people bashing other artists for paying homage to Michael when it would be so easy for those artists to publicly disrespect him like other jerks. They should be commended and encouraged. If they think so highly of Michael to imitate him at every turn, the fans of those artists might think "Hmm...maybe this Michael Jackson person isn't so bad. Let's give him and his art a fair shake." It's kinda disheartening to hear people complain. No one is taking Michael's place. Not by a longshot. None of these people are a threat, imHo, so I don't get the need to be so harsh against them. It's like some folks have a vendetta against these artists and it can't possibly be that serious. They aren't hurting anyone or Michael, imo. Others may see differently and that's cool, but why so harsh. They're just trying to make a legal living and entertain. Why the personal attacks?

As for the clothing line,...don't forget us x-smalls, please. :worried:

People are gonna give their opinions. People on here constantly critisize Michael over various things, yet you don't see the same kind of almost verocious defense of him as you sometimes do for other artists. It seems like Michael's fans are almost made to feel guilty if they ever have anything less then flattering to say about anyone else. It's like the foul treatment Michael is made to suffer is used against fans in trying to voice a less then favorable opinion of another artist. The thing is, what's done to Michael isn't the same as what's done to other artists when we critic them. No one is hating on Chris Brown, or anyone else. We don't call him nasty, cruel names. Voicing an opinon on his artistic merit isn't "hating". If I called Chris Brown a name, like bone head or something, that would be hating. I just find it strange how Michael Jackson fans are made to feel bad for giving an opinion on another artists or acts abilities. If you're thinking it, you should be able to say it, as long as it's not out of line or uncalled for and mean.

Perhaps we just see the issue as a whole differently, then. It's okay to have an opinion against someone's art or talent, but I think sometimes ppl go too far and/or sometimes miss the bigger picture. We'll agree to disagree. :flowers:

Hopefully it can all kick off again with a clothing line, a brand new album and maybe even go as far as a tour! It all makes sense, if MJ wants success all over again that is. It sounds like hes taking the right track.

Thanks for the news, mello and DM.

I am EXCITED about the clothing line. I just hope the clothes are nice, cheap (LOL) and not tacky. I love Mike, but he be wearing some tacky clothes.

I am so sorry about T. Riely's studio being burned down. Wow..... That is really sad.

I have no idea why a certain poster likes to trash a 19 year old every chance she gets. I mean, who cares? You do not have to like the person, but give it a rest with the artist trashing. At least he is doing something positive in his life.

At least he is doing something positive in his life.

lol, why don't you just SAY MY NAME? It's so comical how you TRY to be subtle. You obviously lack skills in this area. If you've got a problem, just say so, don't hide behind sementics. I ain't gonna stop giving my opinion on other acts just because some people can't bear to read it. Just skip over my posts if they bother you so much.

Mike could have really done something more creative with his fashion ideas and history than to hand it over to some quick and tacky Hollywood marketing scheme.

As for the clothes being cheap, I really doubt it. If the clothes are surely being sold at Kitson, I wouldn't classify it as cheap, lol. Start saving up, guys! ;)

Michael's official clothing line in Japan contains very elegant suits and ties, etc. The new line is said to be more glitzy and so forth, it'll be interesting to see what comes out of it. Hopefully they will have a full MJ showcase like they do in Japan.

No it is not a video game mello.. lol!

I was saying that video gamers use the same tactic to find out when a game is coming out as I did to find out when the clothing is..

get what I'm saying??

There is a little simple tactic to get the date of the planned 'street market' date is..

It was just hinting to u guys on how to find out..

Awww, don't be negative. Let's see what it would look like. I am not familair with the designer all that much but maybe MJ can make the clothing line look great. Who knows?

LMAO @ "good and tight"...

With the little gut I got, it'll better be at least loose enough where it won't cut off my waist circulation. Got me wearing 31" pants, lol!

X17 revealed today that Michael Jackson and Christian Audigier will be launching a brand new clothing store in Las Vegas at the Treasure Island Hotel on July 4, 2008!

You know, the media keeps saying that Michael has announced that he is launching a clothing line. But Michael hasn't said anything, really. The only people that have been quoted is Audigier and the owner of Kitson. Michael hasn't said a word, yet everybody is claiming he said something.

Just amazing.

Please keep the attitudes in check. If you have a problem address it elsewhere the forum is not the place for it. The ignore button is a wonderful feature. Some of ya'll should seriously investigate how using it may make your lives more mod friendly

I have a feeling NOTHING is going to happen on July 4th. Well not what we might have been expecting.

I mean, since July 4th is right around the corner, we should have heard "something else" by now. There was a brief mention on one of the gossip sites and nothing else has been said. I find that a wee bit odd.
