Do you ever wonder why insteading of letting things be as they may people get ugly when they feel threatened or don't get their way?

The breathing thing...the umbilical chord provides everything the babies need, doesn't it? Food and oxygen.

But this has gotten me wondering something. If we were able to keep the umbilical chord functioning on babies and use it to supply them with food and oxygen just like it had in the womb, could we "breathe" underwater with this adaptation?

Also, MichaelsGuardianAngel, when you mentioned how easily humans can get killed, I wonder how we can live through some terrible things. We are so fragile, yet so durable too sometimes.

Isn't it amazing that our body can heal itself. Broken bones mend, cuts heal...incredible really.

Yes a pharmacy did that to me once a couple years ago when I had bronchitis and needed an inhaler to breath, I was pissed but I was so sick I didn't feel like telling anyone off :mello:

Everyone has gifts of some kind, some just use theirs more than others. We can learn something from a brilliant inventor but whose to say someone that works on a farm isn't just as brilliant and creative in their own way. You just have to have an openmind and be open to learning new things from anyone, from the person in a highrise building to a vendor selling stuff on a street corner. Absorb life. :)Anyway, we'd be a boring world if we all came from the same mold.:)

I guess it's good genes...and good environment...and having people to encourage you to train and use your talent and sometimes even to RECOGNIZE your talent. I think a lot of people are very talented but it goes to waste because it is not recognized early on or they are not given opportunities to train.

Lorraine...that NEVER ceases to amaze me...I see it at the hospital ALL the time. Some people think they are the ONLY ones at the ward and they don't care if there is a kid dying...if they think their kid needs to get some juice NOW, they will terrorize you about it without considering the kid who is dying and lettin teh nurses and doctors do their work...amazing really...

Do you ever wonder how babies grow from tiny cells into a perfect human being with everything where it's supposed to be? And how you can get something so amazing out of two not even visible "parts" from two human beings! I know how it all happens but it never ceases to amaze me anyhow.

Yes :wub: although it's not always the way sometimes things arent where they are meant to be or an extra finger of toe is there, I had a Nephew born with his intestines on the outside they worked wonders to get him well but then he died from cot death anyways :(

Oh Gastroschisis...yeah that must be hard on the mom to go through that...I've never seen or taken care of babies with that, but we learned about it at school...And yeah cot death is horrible and so scary! That was what I was most scared of when I was a nanny...that the baby dies of that. I always kept checking in on him when he was sleeping and if he slept longer than usual I'd freak out and go see that he is alright and poke him to see he's alive. And now as a nurse...I'd probably buy like a monitor or something for my own baby, just to be sure! :lol: My aunt died of cot death when she was 3 months old...:(

Well hair epecially yeah, because it's fascinating how something like that can come out of our body. :lol:

Hmm haven't really given it much thought as I'm not sure it's an accurate prediction most of the time.

Yes and no...Did you know that allergies are more common among city kids than among kids that live in farms, because th kids at farms are exposed to dirt and hey and germs and stuff from early age on and most city kids aren't so they get less allergies. its actually a moth larvae it lives inside
the bean where the egg was laid
the moth lays it egg in the flower of
the plant and the egg gets incorporated
inside the seed. Then the larvae eats out the
inside of the bean and lives in there.
