:lmao: I always used to hear that too!
 I don't think I'm gonna be able to explain this properly but I used to think it meant that it was an "inconvenience" to people. Like people would see ads about donating to charity and it annoyed people that they were being asked to help... or something
And I always heard "You've got FOOD hunger" and then thought to myself, oh good, he's clarifying WHAT hunger because it seemed obvious to me you could have different kinds of hunger. DUH! *scratches head*
:D I like hearing the explanations people come up with for misheard lyrics. I can't think of the song at the moment but there was one where I had come up with an explanation for the wrong lyric and when I found out the right lyrics it was about something totally different. I thought my version was better :ninja:

This thread is too funny. I laughed real hard and almost fell off my bed. ^__^
Well, as for Billie Jean, I used to misheard its lyrics like this: "Billie Jean that's my lover!" (OMG! ^_^) and "Who dance on the floor, in the ground." This made me keep wondering that how they could dance IN the ground.
P.S: I'm Asian and I just knew a little English at that time. ^_^

Haha, I used to hear "Billie Jean, is that my lover?" :D
I've only recently realised that in WBSS the line goes "they called her mouth a motor" and not "they called her my promoter"

I knew that I sung many of Michael's songs lyrics wrong, but I was just too lazy to check the correct ones :D
Billie Jean:
"she says I am the one, but the cheese is not my son". Still can't hear "kid" there
Another Part Of Me:
In the first verse I used to sing "this is our planet, you wanna bus"
Smooth Criminal:
"he came into your apartment, left the blasters on the carpet"
Thriller:
"and no one's gonna save you from the piece of thunderstrike" http://www.musicforums.ru/metalmusic/images/smiles/oooi.gif
The Girl is Mine
Michael sings..
"Because She's Mine
The Doggone Girl Is Mine
Don't Waste Your Time
Because The Doggone Girl Is Mine.."
Somehow I heard THE DARK GIRL IS MINE..
I thought it was so for a loooong time before I thought its kinda strange MJ would say that so I looked it up and realized my mistake.. LOL

in Beat it:
"don't you come around, CHIMP." I always imagined him scolding Bubbles.
In Remember The Time he's ad libing something in the very beginning.
Now I hear "I don't know, do you wanna channel me?" :D
In Smooth Criminal it's:
That He Struck You - A Crescendo Annie, but I hear That He Struck you with a shingle, Annie!
http://www.floridadisaster.org/mitigation/rcmp/HRG/images/roofs/shingle_loose_tab_large.jpg- because, obviously this song is about building materials that people could get hurt with! :tease:
My friend said she'd always thought that in "Rock With You" Michael sang "Relax, you're mine" instead of "Relax your mind". :)

i'm doubled up laughing here!!! more, more, more!
i guess my worst one is from IJCSLY, which has been mentioned here. "heaven's conneticain" was how i heard it, too. but basically, i look up something right away when i can't understand what he's saying.
this is an excerpt from an article i read last year:
This whole article about Jackson's voice can help explain why even Americans and Englishmen often do not understand Michael Jackson's words while listening to his songs. There is factually no such concept as "word" for Jackson while he sings a song. There are only sounds. He began to use voice not only to bring sense into the music, but to create music and new sounds. Yes, Michael Jackson sings music, not words.

I searched up the lyrics to Earth Song today and the thing I always sing is: "This crying Earth that we picture?" while it's "This crying Earth it's weeping shores?"
Not that it's funny or anything.

Well, it wouldn't have bothered me either, however, I don't think "screw the world" would sound appropriate for a song like "Cry". But other than that, I don't mind when Michael swears a little, e.g. in "This Time Around": this time around I'm taking no sh*t or in "Scream": stop f*cking with me:cheeky:

Great Mondegreens all...
(American writer Sylvia Wright coined the term in her essay "The Death of Lady Mondegreen," published in Harper's Magazine in November 1954.[3]
When I was a child, my mother used to read aloud to me from Percy's Reliques, and one of my favorite poems began, as I remember:
Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,Oh, where hae ye been?
They hae slain the Earl O' Moray,And Lady Mondegreen.
The actual fourth line is "And laid him on the green".
Wright explained the need for a new term: "The point about what I shall hereafter call mondegreens, since no one else has thought up a word for them, is that they are better than the original."

Misheard lyrics (or words to poetry) are called mondegreens, and that is what the whole thread is about...... its a daft word I know...the quotation is where it comes from ( and I thought that was fairly funny too ). That's all. (Apologises and reverses out of thread hastily.)

The Second Michael Song I Ever Heard Was Smooth Criminal, When He Started singing.....I didn't understand a sh*t. I'm not sure if this was mentioned before, but during Smooth Criminal, when he sings "Annie, are you okay?" I always hear "Annie, are you walking?"
Then there's during Man in the Mirror where he sings "And no message could have been any clearer." I always hear: "And no mustache could have been any clearer."

When I was a kid I thought the lyrics on Heal the World went like "Heal the World, make it a better place for you and for me and the entire UNIVERSE."
I think that would have been a bit too hard to achieve...
Up until now I always thought Michael sang "Like a stranger in Moscow, Lord I feel insane" on Stranger in Moscow when he actually sings "Like a stranger in Moscow, Lord have mercy".

This isn't from MJ but in Lady Gaga's song Poker face the chorus part sounds like shes saying "cutie pie, cutie pie" ... but its and I just found this out, its 'can't read my, can't read my'

Especially for me it's very difficult to understand what Michael says cause english is not my native language..... That's what I heard when I listened to the songs for the first time:
MORPHINE
Original:You talk survival(?).......You're just a rival
Μine:Your dog's on fire.........You're just a Rambo
Original: Demerol, Demerol, Oh God he's taking demerol
Mine: Debbie Rowe, Debbie Rowe, oh God he's taking Debbie Rowe
BILLIE JEAN
Original:But the kid is not my son
Mine:But the chin is not my son (I still can't hear kid....)
WHY YOU WANNA TRIP ON ME
Original:You got homeless people With no food to eat
Mine:You got homeless people with no friends to eat
Original:We've got streetwalkers Walkin in the darkness
Mine:We've got Stevie Wonders rockin in the darkness
DON'T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH
Original:Keep on with the force don't stop
Mine:Keep on with the pants stuffed
I know this is an older post, but I just randomly clicked through a couple of pages of this thread. Thanks for the original lyrics, I don't know the lyrics of most songs and also don't know all MJ songs (that'll probably change with time though, give me a few years ;) ), but with the originals being there, I didn't have to google them. Those are hilarious! With no friends to eat? That's so wrong, lol.
English is not my first language either, but with MJ it's particularly hard at times, in a lot of songs he is more beatboxing than singing, lol. With some of the new songs, even some native speakers on here heard weird things here and there, but for some reason I heard them right. Happens to me with other English songs as well, not just MJ. I guess that's because I usually try to listen really hard and pay a lot of attention with English not being my frist language. But I always love to read people's misheard lyrics, they are always hysterical.
