If it's a from a youtube video, go to gifsoup.com.
Enter the link and mark the 10 sec part you want for your gif.

There's other programs like photoshop cs3 but I haven't tried them yet.

Hope it helps.

How do you create a gif from a video ?

I use Quicktime to open the video and save it has a image sequence. Then I use Gif fun, to create the gif from the folder of images that was created with Quicktime.

Hi everyone, thx for answering so fast. Sorry for not being specific enough, the video in question is a AVI Video File which i watch with Windows Media Player.

No problem, just open your avi in Quicktime, and export as image sequence.

I use gifsoup as well. I think there might be a way to remove the logo to if you are like a paid member or something?

Photoshop is great, although I just downloaded the 30 day free trial...it will come out in the same size and quality as the video you imported (if you don't want it to be you can make it lower quality / smaller).

Very easy to do as well, just open the MP4 file, select from where you want it to start / finish, "Save for web & devices" and you're done.
