I imagine that the big news will be the 3d hologram technology that has been discussed using old tour footage of Michael to try to create the impression that he is really there. In which case it would have to be done very well to not look to contrived and also do not know how many fans would feel about this ?

Cirque du Soleil is joining forces with the true entertainment legend Michael Jackson.

The magic of Cirque du Soleil and the genius of the King of Pop will be combined in the creation, development, and production of Michael Jackson projects based on the music and songs of Michael Jackson.
An arena-touring show is expected to debut in late Fall 2011 and a Las Vegas permanent show is expected to open in late 2012.
Special lifestyle projects, including a nightclub to open with the Las Vegas show, will also be developed.

I hope they come to New York during the holiday season of 2011. Wintuk, another Cirque Du Soleil show, gonna end its run at Madision Square Garden this year. Is it possible Cirque is going to replace Wintuk with The Legend Lives On in December 2011? I hope so.

Sorry guys, I live in NY.

I'm no big fan of the Sin City. But, I'll certainly make a trip there in 2012 to see the permanent show.

in the interview with the guy for cirque the other week they said tickets would go on sale on nov 3rd.not sure what shows were going on sale though as there were mixed comments. show starts in vegas in december 2011 and stays there for 2 months then it goes on a usa tour for 2 years.then after that will go on a world tour for 2 years.after that a permenant show will happen in vegas. that show will be different to the one that goes on tour.

from the article is seems the show on tour will be like the elvis show that does the rounds. live band with video footage of mj.so an mj show without mj. i was hoping for a cirque style show but it seems that will happen with the permenant vegas show and this one is basically a concert using video footage.which to me is so heartbreaking

If Michael ain't in it, I ain't interested...yeah i have to agree. if had been a typcial cirque show as i know them i might be more intrested. but the thought of a mj concert with the band and dancers and mj on a scree. to me is vomit inducing. its just another confimration of what has happened. and makes u realise this is all we now have.hurts like hell.

i can understand fans who never saw a concert liking the idea and wanting to go.but the emotions i have are totally fecked up on this. im glad its gonna be upwards of 4 years b4 this comes to europe. enough time to maybe decide one way or the other. one part of you is like its an mj event of course i should/want to go and i wold feel guilty for not going but then the other half is like why theres no mj. its all so horrible. kinda the same feeling i have towards a tribute concert

We are all free to agree or disagree, but let's agree there must be nicer ways to disagree. If this makes you sick, please take into account it is not the case for many of us.

And will just add the same thing we always say to those leaving horrible comments against Michael in any Michael-related article online. If you are not interested, why do you waste your time reading the info? Really, if this makes you feel like vomiting, you will surely feel way better without reading this

It is sad, but that's no reason to attempt to rip the enjoyment out of other fans hearts and minds, by saying things like this shouldn't happen. Tons of us have never gotten to see Michael perform live, if this is what some may think it is, then this might be that chance. Not to mention there's now a whole new generation of Michaelmaniacs, and I'm sure this will be something that will please our modern youth as well.

We are all free to agree or disagree,i guess not seeing as you are telling me not to comment in this thread

i guess u dont understand the terminology of the phrases im using.if u think its the same as someone attacking mj. its my opinion im not telling anyone else how to feel. same ole in threads like this. nothing but a bunch of drama queens who jump on anyone that isnt estatic about every little thing and has the audacity to voice their opinion.dont u find it sickening that mj is gone and all we have left is a big screen with footage of on it while there are dancers and musicans there in person on stage? does that make u happy cause it sure doesnt make me happy and thats what i ment by vomit inducing.because it comfirms the reality of the situation we are all now in.

It is sad, but that's no reason to attempt to rip the enjoyment out of other fans hearts and minds, by saying things like this shouldn't happen.no ones saying it shouldnt happen. just stating how horrible it is that it is happening because of the obvious reasons. every thread on here lately ends up the same:smilerolleyes: its a discussion board. not everyne has the same opinions/feelings so no need to act all defensive when not everyone is jumping up and down and is excited at the thought of this type of show happening because mj is gone.i have more intrest in seeing what type of show they create for the permenant residencey is vegas as that sounds more like a typcial cirque show. as i said i dont blame fans who never got the chance to see mj being excited at this idea but personally for me it just confirmed what has happened and where we are now at and were we will be for the rest of our lives. as i said by the time this comes to europe i might want to see it. but at this time everything is so fecked up that this is even happening. ie mj is gone!

http://communities.canada.com/montrealgazette/blogs/stageandpage/archive/2010/11/02/michael-jackson-cirque-du-soleil-show-news-tomorrow.aspx

There will be a Cirque du Soleil news announcement tomorrow about its upcoming Michael Jackson arena show. Jamie King, the director of the show, and Chantal Tremblay, director of creation, will be talking to the Canadian press via teleconference tomorrow afternoon. The show is expected to begin a North American tour in December, 2011.

It has already been reported that the title of the 90-minute Jackson show featuring 72 performers will be The Immortal World Tour and that its production costs will be in the $200 million range.

After The Beatles (LOVE), Elvis Presley (Viva ELVIS) and now, Jackson, who will be the next to be immortalized by the Cirque du Soleil?

Well, I can say this, it's been over a year since I promised to myself that I can never go to any concerts ever and never ever will get my first. Well...I'm recanting my statement and give this Immortal Tour a go for me, I can go for the Toronto show. This'll be my first concert to go to since my intentions for This Is It.

MAN! It's coming to Houston, TX (where I live) in February!!

The only problem is that I was planning to be in San Antonio,TX that weekend. Now I have some major decisions to make. I'm pretty sure I'll end up going to the Cirque du Soleil show though! This is exciting!

From Cirque du Soleil, a Michael Jackson-Themed Touring Show
By BEN SISARIO
1:05 p.m. | Updated

Cirque du Soleil and the estate of Michael Jackson announced plans on Wednesday for the first of two planned Jackson-themed shows, “The Immortal World Tour,” to open in Montreal next fall. Described in a statement as taking place “in a fantastical realm where we discover Michael’s inspirational Giving Tree — the wellspring of his creativity,” the show is to combine Jackson’s music and choreography with the signature acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil.

The director of the show is Jamie King, 38, a choreographer and stage director whose résumé includes recent tours by Britney Spears, Madonna, Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion, and who was a dancer in Jackson’s 1992 tour for his album “Dangerous.”

A tour of 27 cities will begin at the Bell Center in Montreal on Oct. 2, 2011, and run at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas from Dec. 3 to 11, before continuing on the road through June 2012. The show is to play at Madison Square Garden on April 3, 2012, and organizers say that more tour dates will be added. Tickets for all shows go on sale Saturday through cirquedusoleil.com and michaeljackson.com.

Mr. King spoke with Ben Sisario on Wednesday. These are excerpts from their conversation.

Q.The show is described as taking place in the realm of Michael Jackson’s “Giving Tree.” What does that mean?

A.Early on I was invited to go to Neverland, and in my research I talked to people who worked there while Michael was living there.

I decided, along with the estate and the family and Cirque, to make Neverland my environment for the show. Within Neverland Michael had all of these gigantic oak trees, and one in particular he called the Giving Tree. But it’s really just a metaphor for being inside Michael’s world, inside his mind.

Q.And what sorts of things do we discover inside his mind?

A.Everything Michael: Michael’s love of fairy tale, his love of magic and theatricality, his love of music, his love of animals, his love of showmanship. This is the place where he wrote many albums, many songs; he wrote poetry there. This was his peace, his serenity. The show is that world blown up bigger than life.

Q.You’re known for Britney Spears’s Circus tour, and other big concert tours with Madonna and Christina Aguilera. Can people expect this to be anything like a Britney Spears concert?

A.The only similarity is that we’re doing a rock ’n’ roll show. It’s a hybrid. It’s Cirque du Soleil meets Michael Jackson, the biggest pop-rock show of all time. So you get the theatricality and the spectacle and the esoteric environments that Cirque provides, along with this wonderful rock ’n’ roll world that Michael is really known for. He put on best rock ’n’ roll shows of all time.

Q.When you were approached by Cirque and the estate, what did they tell you they wanted for the show?

A.We collectively wanted same thing. From the beginning our intention was to make sure that the essence, the spirit, of Michael Jackson lived on in this show. What that means specifically is that his music is the soundtrack, and that his performance and choreography lives in the show. So everything you can think of that is Michael Jackson will be given to you in this show, with some surprises, of course.

Michael Jackson estate, Cirque du Soleil unveil plans for 'The Immortal World Tour'
November 3, 2010 | 11:34 am

So maybe "Michael Jackson's This Is It" wasn't quite it.

The Jackson estate and Cirque du Soleil announced plans Wednesday for a Jackson-themed touring production, "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour," that is set to open in Montreal in October. The arena tour, which combines the performer's choreography and music with the Quebecois acrobatic troupe's signature dance and aerial moves, will travel to 27 cities across North America and reach Los Angeles' Staples Center and Anaheim's Honda Center in January.

The production's writer-director, Jamie King, served as Madonna's creative director for the last dozen years, overseeing her 2008 "Sticky & Sweet" world tour. More crucial to his new effort, however, King previously worked with the King of Pop, serving as a backup dancer for Jackson for two years on his 1992-93 "Dangerous" world tour.

According to King, "The Immortal World Tour" combines the kind of pop spectacle Jackson was known for with the esoteric, theatrical qualities associated with Cirque du Soleil productions such as "O," "KÀ" and "Zumanity."

"From the moonwalk to the iconic choreography we've seen in 'Thriller' and 'Beat It' and 'Bad' -- all his mini-movies and music videos -- mix that with the world of Cirque," King said in an interview with The Times. "You shake it and can literally turn it on its head. Imagine taking the moonwalk to new levels, to new heights. Being able to do the moonwalk literally as if you're on the moon, all the way around the arena."

Unlike such Las Vegas-based Cirque du Soleil productions as "Love" (a joint venture between the troupe and the Beatles’ Apple Corps that re-imagines the Fab Four's music within circus-based artistry) and "Viva Elvis" (a Cirque show developed in conjunction with Elvis Presley Enterprises that launched this year), the initial idea with "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" was to "bring Michael to the fans" and create the feeling of his concerts in an arena setting, said John Branca, co-executor of the Jackson estate.

"Cirque has not done a show with Elvis or the Beatles or any other historic rock 'n' roll icon that has gone into arenas and toured North America or the world, so it was exciting to be able to do something that had not been done before," Branca said. "Ultimately, there will be a separate show residing permanently in Las Vegas. That show is a couple of years off."

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's music and dance combined with Cirque du Soleil's magic promises to be a "beautiful hybrid," the writer-director of "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour" said Wednesday.
"You can imagine those two worlds together," Jamie King said. "The show is huge."
Ticket sales started Wednesday for the first leg of the North American tour, which opens October 2 in Montreal, Canada.
Fans will hear Jackson music they've never heard before, unreleased songs recorded by the pop star in the years before his sudden death last year, King said.
"Expect surprises," King said. The show will "provide secrets and give things that people haven't necessarily heard or seen before."
"Michael was a great writer of poetry," he said, suggesting that Jackson's poems will be an element in the Cirque production.
But fans will also get "Michael Jackson as they knew Michael Jackson," King said.
"That means from his performance aspect, his energy that he gave on stage, and that will be reflected in not only the set and the costumes but in the lighting and the musicality of the show," he said. "The iconic choreography is extremely important. The Moonwalk, the 'Smooth Criminal' dance, 'Thriller,' 'Beat It.' "
King, who has directed many of the biggest world concert tours over the past decade, worked early in his career with Jackson on his 1992 "Dangerous" tour.
He's also gotten help from Jackie Jackson. Michael's oldest brother, who has also helped prepare an upcoming CD of unreleased songs, met with King to share insight about the pop star.
Designing a Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil production has "been a very natural process," King said.
"It makes so much sense for these two worlds to come together, because Michael was so into magic and fairy tale and everything that really Cirque is all about," he said. "He loved that innocence and childlike kind of creativity which Cirque provides."
The circus company, legendary for its creative and acrobatic performances, first talked to Jackson six years ago about the possibility of a Jackson-themed show, Cirque's president said when the agreement with his estate was announced in April. The estate and Cirque du Soleil are equal partners.
The show's tour visits nine Canadian and five U.S. cities in the last three months of 2011. Stops in 13 North American cities have been announced in the first half of 2012.
The MGM Mirage has signed on to host the Las Vegas, Nevada, residency starting in 2012. The hotel also will open a nightclub based on the Jackson show, the hotel said.

I'll wait until the show comes to Europe. I hope they will stop by in Finland, but if they don't I'll travel to UK to see it.

Cirque du Soleil’s chief Daniel Lamarre: "The first arena show will globally tour in North America for two years and then as it leaves to go onto Europe and the rest of the world."

Holy crap.. lol.. does this mean they will come over to Europe in 2014?!! Thats too loooooong!!!!!!!! Im also looking into possibilites to get my butt over to either Canada or USA in 2011 to catch the show. Just that the airfare is expensive and I dont know where Ill be in the years to come, impossible for me to go if I land a new job and stuff.. damn.. but at the same time, i cant wait til 2014 for this show.. LOL. Ive sent out several e-mails to friends already to see if anyone wanna join me :) Dont know what to do either..

Fans will hear Jackson music they've never heard before, unreleased songs recorded by the pop star in the years before his sudden death last year, King said.
"Expect surprises," King said. The show will "provide secrets and give things that people haven't necessarily heard or seen before."

Wow ..... this is simply amazing.
I saw the Alegria show, and I became fascinated by Cirque du Soleil.
I'm sure that Michael Jackson The Immortal Tour, will be wonderful. With all the information we have about the show makes me get excited to see the final result.
I just hope to come to my country, or will I have to go to the U.S. or Canada to see.

It sure is a lot of money - but I bet you it'll be worth every penny.

The show looks like it's going to be perfect. Something Michael himself would have liked to do. Magical, escapism, wonderment, magic, pyros, lots of special effects. EVERYTHING!

I expect it would be a great show and I cannot wait. It is good to have something Michael related to look forward to in 2011. Is anyone else going to the Las Vegas show?

Cirque Du Soleil to 'Immortal'-ize Michael Jackson's Neverland in new tour
By Ryan Pearson (CP) – 25 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Cirque du Soleil is taking Neverland Ranch on the road.
The first of the acrobatic troupe's two planned Michael Jackson shows will be set in a stylized version of the singer's famed Southern California home, according to Jamie King, writer and director of what Cirque is billing as "Michael Jackson, THE IMMORTAL World Tour."
"It is really about a central character or characters who get transported into this world of Neverland where they learn everything there is to know about Michael," said King, who has directed concert tours for Madonna, Rihanna and Celine Dion.
The tour will kick off in Montreal next October and hit 30 cities including Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Ont., Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Vancouver. Tickets will range from a base $50 to $250 for VIP seats.
John Branca, co-executor of Jackson's estate, said that depending on fan response, it could be extended beyond its planned end in the summer of 2012 and travel outside of North America.
Excerpts from Jackson's music videos and extended scenes from last year's "This Is It" documentary will be part of the 90-minute show, but no performer will represent Jackson specifically.
"Michael Jackson is throughout the entire show, but in no way am I going to use a stand-in," King said, adding that songs would include hits from "Thriller" to "Smooth Criminal," as well as new remixes like those made for Cirque's Beatles show, "Love."
"Immortal" will also feature as-yet-unreleased songs that Jackson had finished before his death last year, including some from an album that the singer's estate hopes will go on sale by Christmas, Branca said.
Concept art for the set prominently features a massive tree, which represents a favourite oak that sat outside Jackson's Neverland bedroom, King said. The singer nicknamed it the Giving Tree and had a perch built atop it where he wrote music and sometimes slept.
"It made sense that that would be the perfect environment for us to create this world of magic, fairy tale," King said. "Because Neverland for Michael Jackson was his kind of his peace and his serenity. ... So after going to Neverland and really experiencing and feeling the beauty and the energy that was there, I had no choice but to create an environment that reflected that."
King said he would begin auditions for about 60 dancers next week. Producers are hoping to hire dancers and musicians for the live band who have worked with Jackson, Branca said.
Jackson admired the Canadian troupe's work and had attended Cirque shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. "He was always captivated and a fan of what Cirque does," Branca said.
Cirque and the estate are also collaborating on a separate permanent production in Las Vegas in 2012 at a property owned by MGM Mirage Inc. They will each own 50 per cent of both projects and share equally in the cost of putting on the productions.
Cirque said "Immortal" would be its most expensive touring show ever, with a budget of $57 million. A select number of tickets are being sold to fan clubs of Michael Jackson and Cirque Du Soleil starting Wednesday.
The rest go on sale Saturday.

MJ's estate has handled the business affairs brilliantly. They have literally turned his image in a 180 degree direction (to the general public). This Cirque show will cement Jackson's legacy and will pick up where This Is It left off. With each project like this, the public will remember Jackson more as a genius musician rather than for his personal life.

If you take a step back and look at what has unfolded over the past 18 months, you will see what I'm talking about. The haters are forced to be silent, why? Because they just don't have the support they once had. Also, they see MJ's success in every direction. One week he's named the richest entertainer of the year, earning hundreds of millions of dollars, the next week Cirque Du Soleil (a highly respected concert company) announces it's creating a whole traveling tour centered around MJ's music. Next week they hear about the new album, and of course all the success that will follow all these projects. It just proves to the world (the non-fans) just how BIG Michael Jackson is. He's turning into an even more powerful brand, and even though many pundits predicted MJ could never shake his scandals, he is doing just the opposite...becoming bigger then any star in global history.

Something really opened my eyes. While I was in Florida last week, a TV special was on that ranked the Top 20 Worst Celebrity Plastic Surgeries. I remember seeing this same show 3 years ago (when MJ was alive) and it was brutally mean to him. So many insults, stabs about the allegations, talking about his disturbed life, etc... This time, it literally was a 180 turn. All the people didn't care anymore, the hosts of the show said "I can't really say anything as he has had so much success it doesn't feel right to comment on his surgeries", the comments were actually positive and they didn't diss MJ at all. In fact, everyone was going on how much they like him, calling him the King Of Pop, and a genius, legend, etc. It was just unreal to see how much everything has changed. I kinda had to smile, as I had always prayed for something like this. It just makes me sad that it had to happen this way...

I am in awe about what Cirque du Soleil is doing with this tour. Even if I had any doubts about going to America as soon as I read about them featuring the GIVING TREE I decided I need a ticket. Because this is a true TRIBUTE. The one we've been waiting for. Only someone who genuinely cares and pays attention to detail and want to give Michael what he truly deserves would think about centring the show around Neverland. I have no words. This is beyond amazing. I applaud Cirque and the Estate who are quietly doing their JOB and how brilliantly they are doing it! Michael was so right when he chose John Branca. I can only imagine what the two of them could do together if Michael was here. I was watching that ET clip on the previous page thinking what if it was a Cirque show WITH Michael on stage as well. It would have been fantastic... Sadly, it can't happen... But this show is doing Michael and his magic justice. I can't wait to see it! I was kind of nervous amidst all the talks about Michael in 3D etc, but I am not nervous anymore. I know they will do the right thing!

Definitely true. I remember years ago when being an MJ fan who were seen as some kind of abnormal freak. We had to watch documentaries that had him featured constantly making fun of him, the jibes, the riducule etc. People said that he would never be able to shake the allegations and that would be his legacy not his music. However as we have seen his music is his legacy and people actually regard him as the greatest entertainer to have ever lived. People seem him for his awe inspiring talent, not the scandals. Does it anger me that this should have been done whilst Michael wa alive, yes very much so, but as they say you never know what you have until its gone. Michael's legacy his dance and his music. I can't wait for this. I'm getting with all my old childhood friends who are MJ fans and we're going to go. I told them the prices and they were like "WHO CARES?!! This is once in a lifetime! We have to go!"

So it looks like I'll be there in Houston on February 10, 2012! There are still good seats left!

CAN'T WAIT... Only a little over a year away. :)

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS. i wish i could tell them how greatful we are that such a big reputation in entertainment can acknowledge MJ for MORE than just song and dance. to recognize his spirit in a way that will impress upon everybody....

Quite simply, he is the King.

very much agree

I wonder if they have a guestbook or something on their website. I'd like to thank them.

Thanks Gaz and everyone.

I'm happy but also have some mixed feelings about this.
But I must say....I'm glad the show is coming to my area next year.
This slot will also give me time to come to terms with it all.

Just watched a TV advert about the show and now I'm waiting
for a news spot about IMMORTAL coming up in minutes.

Cirque du Soleil

Jamie King is the director and writer of Cirque du Soleil and Michael Jackson's Immortal.
An Immortal commercial
Cirque du Soleil and Michael Jackson

Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil and Michael Jackson's Immortal.
The title itself is something otherworldly: Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour. It’s jarring, in a way, as Jackson was inevitably and tragically mortal.

But the title of this Cirque du Soleil production show is not a reference to Jackson’s human mortality. It is a title evoking his music, his peerless art of dance and his legacy of childlike spirit and passion. This production is, literally, Neverland brought to the stage, a place where performers gleefully dance and play music as homage to the late King of Pop.

“This is about the energy of Michael and his spirit of his life’s light,” says “Immortal” writer and director Jamie King, who himself is aglow with a creative resume that includes a dozen years as Madonna’s creative director, steering both the Sticky & Sweet and Confessions tours.

As the comprehensive news release announcing the show notes, King has choreographed, directed or otherwise creatively partnered with Rihanna, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Shakira, George Michael, Sir Elton John, Diana Ross, Jennifer Lopez and Ellen DeGeneres.

King was even a dancer on Jackson’s 1992-’93 Dangerous Tour.

Thus, in the care of King, Cirque and The Estate of Michael Jackson, the popular music legend is truly “immortal,” and his fanciful musical biography is bound for Las Vegas next year. First reported two weeks ago by my colleague Robin Leach on the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Weekly and Vegas DeLuxe Web sites, the show’s Las Vegas schedule was released officially on Wednesday. The tour stops at Mandalay Bay Events Center from Dec. 3-11, 2011. Tickets go on sale at noon Saturday at MandalayBay.com and Ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. Tickets are priced at $50, $80, $125, $175 and $250. (Members of the Michael Jackson Fan Club can purchase tickets now at MichaelJackson.com.)

The site is relevant in the long-term future of the Cirque-Jackson production. Mandalay Bay Theatre would be the logical venue to stage the production when it stops touring in 2012, as it has been announced that the show will be featured in an MGM Resorts hotel. “Disney’s The Lion King” leaves Mandalay Bay Theatre at the end of 2011, giving Cirque sufficient time to load the Jackson show into that space.

In discussing the arena show, the 38-year-old King exudes the excitement of a child. He was, in fact, a 12-year-old kid when he saw the Jacksons live during the Victory Tour, catching the show at Chicago’s Comiskey Park (King was raised in Wisconsin).

“I remember only that I was there, but I was a big fan. … There has not been one person who hasn’t been touched or inspired by Michael Jackson, his music or his showmanship,” King says. “For this show, you should expect the merging of the pop-rock spectacle from the ultimate showman, with pyro, live musicians and singers, fused with all that is Cirque. You’ll see a great live performance and the ‘wow’ factor of both those worlds.”

The stage will depict Neverland, a favorite Jackson “Peter Pan” reference point that, we all well remember, was the name of his estate and theme park. “The set will literally develop before your eyes, and you will see Neverland with Michael’s imagery on video.”

Don’t expect a sole Michael Jackson tribute artist to depict the show’s central figure, which would seem a needless effect considering all the technical wizardry and performance artistry the show promises. The show’s story centers on a Giving Tree, described as “the wellspring of (Jackson’s) creativity.”

Through this tree, you take what sounds for all the world like an “Alice in Wonderland,” through-the-looking-glass traipse through Jackson’s life story, filled with his hits dating to his days with the Jackson 5. There will be splashy, archival video, too, similar to the types of video panels used in the never-realized “This is It” stage show being rehearsed for 02 Arena in London at the time of Jackson’s death.

Musically, as in “Love” and “Viva Elvis,” the production team has full access to all of Jackson’s recorded material, even outtakes and unreleased songs. There will be mash-ups, manipulated tempos, live instrumentation among the 60-member cast, with Jackson’s disembodied, recorded voice singing and telling the entire story.

“This is not a cover show, or a lookalike show, but it’s definitely representing the spirit of Michael,” King says. “It’s a loose storyline, with the central characters transported into a portal that is Neverland, where they learn about his love of magic, music, unity, of one love and bringing people together.”

King halted when asked for his favorite Jackson album, citing “Dangerous” for its sentimental value (stemming from his performances on the world tour), and, not surprisingly, “Thriller.”

In a foreboding twist of fate, King was working on a show at 02 Arena when he heard Jackson had died. He’d just finished a rehearsal for Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet appearances there when word reached him in London.

“I was in my hotel room after being in rehearsal that day, and I spent most of the night up, trying to figure out how to react to Michael’s passing,” King says.

In the spring of this year, the young director was asked to be, well, the new King of pop.

“In the end, we will all feel inspired by his light and force,” King says, once more summoning the ethereal. “We will all take home a piece of Michael.”

I am so elated about michael's posthumous success. It's silencing the haters and confounds the critics.I can remember vividly in the week that MJ died all those branding experts saying his image was tarnished and he would never have the kind of legacy elvis and lennon have.Am sure they all have eggs on their faces now, they underestimated michaels appeal because of all the negative trash they threw at him, they didnt know that people just dont like/love mj because he was an entertainer,a lot of his fans love him because he has always been in our lives and to us he is a family member, that is why he has the most dedicated fans in the world and the haters would never understand this.

I would do my part in ensuring his legacy endures by supporting all the estate approved projects.I hope this cirque show would be their most succesful show, I want him to shame the haters.

that is so true... I bet a lot of them are stunned.. They all said there is no way his posthumonous would be as successful as Elvis's etc and that no one will be intersted. Mike has just made more money than all the entertainers dead and alive this year alone.. How long did it take Elvis to generate 1 billion dollars? Mike has surpassed that in over a year and a half. I love MJ and always will

Bad news, my mom told that she and my dad are broke, she told that I may never go for the AnimeNorth in May and when I told her about the tour, later she told me "Immortal Tour" or "AnimeNorth", that tored me up, she is officially pissed me off, because of this, I'm now getting very miserable, she'll regret telling me something I don't wanna hear, it's like she wants me miserable. I'm now in hell already.
