There is a certain website I'm not sure I am allowed to name, but I bought two FANTASTIC Blurays from there, a 1080p Bluray of Ghosts (ripped from the HDTV broadcast in Asia), and the full Munich concert, which is TRUE HD (we can confirm with sources that experimental 1080i cameras were used for the concert). They are obviously bootlegs, but EXTREMELY good quality. Personally, I find nothing wrong with buying them as long as you support the estate when there are official releases. Highly recommended, at least to see what Bluray is capable of, at least.

I see what you mean. I was pretty sure the Bluray was an upscale from 720p. It is the ZDF broadcast upscaled to 1080p. I do have a cable that runs from the computer to TV, however my computer is not fast enough to support the video at a decent speed. As for the audio, I have no idea what I was talking aboutwhen I mentioned HD audio. What I really meant was I could feed the audio from the disc straight to my home theater system. Thank you very much for the clarification. All in all, I think getting the Bluray is worth it when you get special features, chapters, etc. without having to deal with cables and such.

Yeah, we have 30th Anniversary MSG 2001 performance in 1080i HD. And those blu-rays you bought are for sure fan mades. There is no official stuff about that.

Two words my friend: low expectations!

If you lower your expectations and don't expect anything that good (or anything at all, while you're at it) that way you won't be disappointed when you either don't get the material you wanted or get a shitty release of that material.

If the Estate's posthumous projects have though us anything it's that we shouldn't expect anything good that would actually please the fans and NOT make them argue.

From where I see it, the Estate (so far) isn't about making sure we get what material we want and get it released the way WE want it, it's about releasing any half assed project that'll make them a few bucks

Agree with this. Although the estate has released a few things i like such as the This Is It blu-ray, when it comes to MJ his release's are pretty underwhelming. I have no expectations that the Bad Tour 88 will be released. If it is i'll be happy, but knowing the estate it will be Yokohoma 87 with zero extras.

I think the Moonwalker BluRay used a source that was not the best: the soundtrack is not that clean and at times sounds as if it pitches down in the first medley sequence (espceially when the Beat It segment ends).

If any special release of BAD is in the works and is to see the day of light, we shall have confirmation in due time.

But actually, regarding this kind of projects, the problem is to get the RIGHT sources (the archives have been a mess and people like Tohme didn't help).

Indiana Jones was officialy announced on blu-ray for the end of this year. release date was not set yet.

why i'm tell ing this? like i posted already the rumours about release of Indy started early last year. it was rumoured that the HD transfers have been done last fall and release is for late summer early fall 2012. and today they are finaly announced. Like i said it all starts with rumour. then you can assume year later it going to happen.
Some will say, but thats a big blockbuster. it was sure that it will come on blu one day. And Bad tour, we aren't even sure if it exist. in every rumour it's handful of truth ;)

From seeing snippets of The Wembley show and The Los Angeles Show, I would not mind which one is released. Both shows encompass Michael's brilliant talent and energy, he both sounds and looks brilliant in those shows, and on the Bad Tour in general. Realistically I believe theirs a chance the Wembley Show will be released as it has somewhat reached a pinnacle as one of the most long awaited Michael Jackson products to possibly hit the shelves, especially for the MJ Fandom.

It's only a wild guess, but I think we'll start hearing more about it this summer, which is when I suppose it'll be released too. Summer is the perfect time for such releases, especially if they (supposedly) come with a cinema release as well.

I don't care much for the HIStory tour (not much live singing and lack of energy like the Bad Tour). I would like to see a couple of Dangerous shows released though (Wembley and Munich) and I certainly would want a dozen Bad Tour shows to be released... Wembley, LA, NYC, Rome, Tokyo, Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Munich, Minneapolis.... :lol:

It would be easier for us to choose a concert if we had actually seen them all, but we haven't... The Estate should watch all the concerts and release the best one. I don't really care which concert is released, as long as it's the best performance Michael ever gave. And of course it has to include Dirty Diana, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man In The Mirror,... They should release one concert + behind the scenes for the general public, and also a boxset with like 5 concerts for the fans. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for more than one concert, but I can only buy it if they release it... And I hope they'll release it on Blu-Ray, Michael in high definition!

If done right and advertised properly, I truly believe the Bad Tour could actually sell more than This Is It! I hope that for once, fans will have nothing to complain about. They better not make the colors look bad or something. lol After all the controversy, we really need something to bring the fans back together, and the Bad Tour could be it.

I don't think the last show is good choice. DD is missing and from the snippets i've seen, he looks tired and his voice wasn't that good either. the early 88 shows are better choice. he is full of energy.
Also the first and last shows are mostly not the best ones. the first is not in routine and many mistakes happen.

I absolutely agree, I believe vocals wise, Michael was on top form during the First Leg of the Bad Tour, however the setlist and dancing improved immensely during the second leg. It was pretty unusual to do a Tour supporting Bad, and only perform two songs from the album itself! (First Leg.) DD, SC TWYMMF are all brilliant during the Bad Tour!

I love your idea of a Boxset containing a concert from each year, however I'd be pleasantly surprised if the Estate actually do that. I think its more likely they'll release the one concert from Wembley, and then maybe Backstage footage as extras.

Wembley has a bigger chance to be released, but LA and a few other Bad concerts are def material that's worth releasing too and I strongly believe that at some point in the future, we'll get to see LA and other concerts as well.

dvd is so 2008. as the HD war was over, the dvd was one step ahead of becoming the format that has ruled like the vhs did in the 90s and been replaced.
And the prices of standalone bblu-ray players have droped to the dvd players. also blu-ray drives did long ago. so i don't understand some who still don't have. if you don't have HD tv ok, but if you have HDTV and still watch dvds is like .... ok, let say wrong.

Bad 25 Logo should not look dull with black and gray colours. It should look a loot like the classic BAD one, for people to notice right away.

The negativity comes from the result of what the estate has done this far to MJ's legacy. They've done a poor job.

I'm not giving them more chances, but I will of course support the concert release, etc. I can't wait!

Personal Note: I don't really like the logo either. However, it would not take much to turn my opinion around either. Some color properly placeed would do me in quite nicel. I must say, with this prototype (as I hope it is) I am interested further in what the final look like. And I do like that they are not waiting until the final product to just unleash it, but we are seeing a progression. It builds excitement. Just the thought of the possibilities makes me giddy. :lol:

To be very honest, it looks bad as in not good. They could've done it so much better. Why black and GRAY? The gray style looks shit. The logo looks like some kids dolls logo thingy.

I would prefer the logo to be in red, simply because it's so classic MJ and that's what stands out...But the actual FONT is still clearly recognizably MJ...so I'm just looking forward to the material :D

Ugh. I don't like the logo. I agree with Pentum. I do NOT like the gray outline around everything. It is unattractive. I don't care if anyone does not care for the opinion. Graphics for anything is VERY important. Companies spend huge budgets to come up with branding and to make a mark that connects with people. I just don't understand what is going on; and, I am not going to apologize for feeling this way either. :(

And please, don't come to me about being negative, everyone has their own opinion and are allowed to express it on the board.

I also think it looks better on the gray background. But if you look at the pic of that black shirt you posted for instance, I do think that the red outline makes it look a bit cartoonish.

I think probably we kinda forced the hand of the MJ Estate to come out with the logo when Marc posted the trademark info/ picture and I edited the colors. The cat was out of the bag and they had to send the official one out.
