Oh they reading this? Well then I would ask to please leave his demo's and/or unreleased complete songs untouched as is for this Bad25 CD and other CDs in the future too. :) We wanna hear it the way he left them. And a DVD/BLU-Ray of a Bad Tour concert that isn't from 87 would be awesome. Cause I would like to see him perform Smooth Criminal, The way you make me feel, Dirty Diana and Man in the mirror. Thx

Please release something of studio sessions :) I'm dying to see Michael recording songs like MITM and Earth Song!

If I had three wishes for BAD25, they would be:
* if the Bad concert video is released, my wish is there would be as little cuts as possible. Michael's dancing is so breathtaking that it does not need the crazy switching of the views several times a second. I can enjoy the dancing and choreography much more when the takes are longer.
* no shots of the audience in the middle of songs
* cinema release would be...   (lost for words) :D
...aaaahh, no wish left for unlimited number of wishes...

I'd like to personally request as much demos and outtakes as possible on this, along with studio footage of course (which is a must, in my opinion). :D

My wishlist about 25 Bad anniversary
- Bad Album 2xCD edition (First disk as Special edition, Second with Demos and Unreleased songs [not 2 or 4 - full album, cause Michael recorded much of songs for the album])
- Bad Tour Live in Concert CD (With concert from second leg, maybe mixed locations, don't care, i wish it will include live sang Smooth Criminal and The Way You Make Me Feel)
- Bad Tour 1988 (any concert from 1988 or 1989) live at Blu-ray with rehearsal and preparation as bonus material
- Maybe some documentary about "How album was recorded" includes Michael in studio
- Bad Tour in cinema as TII was - will be awesome. Many people will open Michael for themselfs anew.
So, Sony, WE WANT UNRELEASED SONGS AND DEMOS, BAD TOUR LIVE AT BLU-RAY, other stuff are additional for me.

I want a decent job, with outtakes and demos (all untouched, please) and if is possible a second leg concert in DVD/BLURAY.
I like the shots of the audience in the permances . As long as it isnt over done. its shows the exitement and gives a view of what it was like to be there. Michael was very big on recording and showing his fans respose that made him so happy :) I think the released APOM was too much audience shots.
BAD Tour concert in the Ciniema would be awesome ..:wild:
I think it would be a huge sell. Even the general public would be interested in that.

Sorry to let you people down who wish for that to happen, but it just ain't gonna happen.

Yeah 2 theatrical releases within a 2 year span....? Not likely.
I think a TV special is more than likely.

A TV special would be great. I think it'd be an effective marketing tool. It'd remind people how magical BAD tour really was.
When Dangerous was first shown on TV, it's a hysteria. Didn't it give HBO one of their highest rating?

It would be great if they released two Bad Tours on DVD. I think any unreleased music on the CD maybe songs we have heard before like the Spanish version of I Just Cant Stop Loving You and Streetwalker. Remember that a BAD Special edition CD was released in 2001 so some of the extra material on that CD maybe used.

i was just watching a documentary ,in which michael wearing a red sweater and starts talking about music and stuff.
he said he did a song called "buffalo bill" and called it a hit...
therefore i think they should release it
so if the estate are reading this my wish list is
-bad album, keep the original songs ,the 2cd 6 unreleased songs and 3 remixes (including buffalo bill)
-bad tour 88 or 89 (LA or wembley ,both would be awesome) accesible price for just music lovers and casual fans
- a deluxe bad tour 88 or 89 on blu ray/HD (LA n Wembley )for hard core fans (like me), extra footage, behind the scene footage, making of footage, mj in the studio as bonus material ,and a poster
and i think it'll help if they released bad tour on theaters they will attract more people and i'm sure a lot of them will buy the dvd and the album afterwards...just like this is it. it if movies like lion king, bambi were on theaters. why can't michael jackson magical bad tour can't ?
-t-shirts, bad tour merchandise would be nice too ,but my priorities are the bad tour and unreleased songs (at least 5 songs please)

My wishlist for Bad 25:
#1. The Bad Tour 88 in Wembley in high quality on DVD and Blu Ray. It would be a double disk and on the second disk would feature behind the scenes and rehersals, similiar to the TII DVD. Also included would be a documentary and the pepsi adds MJ did back in the day in high quality. This is by far what i want most. To be honest i want this more then any other thing MJ related ever.
#2. The Bad 25 album to include all the original songs aswell as two or three of his absolute best unreleased tracks from that era. And if the songs are good enough perhaps even release them as singles to promote the album? Also included would be 5 or 6 remix tracks from other world famous artists. Also a few demos of the songs that did make it on the album. This would be a two disk, one disk being the original album and the second disk being outtakes, remixes and album demos.
The album will be similiar packaging to that of Thriller 25 with two variations. One variation would be having the Bad 25 tour DVD included but without all the extras (behind the scenes, rehersals, documentary and pepsi adds) and the other just the two disk album itself. The tour DVD will be released seperately aswell but with all the extras. There will also be a Blu Ray release of the Bad Tour perhaps with even more features.

As bonus material on Blu-ray, I would like all of the ads he made for Pepsi during the Bad era, all of his appearances and performances on award shows, footage of him recording in the studio and interviews from the Bad era. And if they have cute and fun home videos from the Bad era, I wouldn't mind either!
On the CD, I'd like it if they would put back the intro of I Just Can't Stop Loving You, and I want to keep "Streetwalker", "Fly Away" and "Todo Me Amor Eres Tu", and of course I want lots of unreleased material (untouched if possible). No interviews on the CD (unless it's Michael speaking). And no remixes unless they find a way to make them better than the original songs (and that's unlikely). I hope they will keep the original picture of Michael on the cover, since it's such a classic.
And I would just like to say that I would be willing to pay a high price for a deluxe Bad tour boxset, with more than one concert! Of course we need at least one concert from the second leg because of the new songs he performed, but I'd love to see others, like the one with the black shirt in Tokyo (the set list was not as good as the second leg, but the performance was still sooo amazing!)
And most of all, I want to see that famous kiss with Tatiana!

Well, never say never!!
Haha, nice pun! I don't think its likely that the Bad Tour would be released in cinemas, mainly due to the stage of box office grosses on Concert Movies in recent times. Before This Is It their most Concert movies did poorly at the box office, a recent example would be the Glee 3D concert movie. Last year Glee was pratically a worldwide phenomenon, but still did poorly at the box office only just making a few million dollars over budget! (Unfortunately :() Of course their have been some exceptions, the Biebs Never Say Never which did moderately worldwide and very well in America. But considering Justins fanbase, their would be extra tickets provably on parental supervision. While the majority of MJ fans seem to be mature teenager-adults. That veins said, the budget for a Bad Tour theatrical release would be next to nothing, Sony would probably spend more on promotion.

OK Jacob why be in a thread full of people hoping for something new from the estate? We are fan's we want things that Michael has left us and that the Estate is capable of releasing to us. So SUE US if we like to hope for these things.
I hope for a release this year as well, I'm no different to you, or anybody in here.
It's okay to have a dream, it's okay to hope for things to happen.
The only thing I'm saying is that, if you look at it from a realistic standpoint, you would know that something aren't gonna come true.
Which being a cinema release.

We will get the new album and possible DVD/BluRay but it's a shame the marketing campaign won't stretch to the UK. There was no promotion in the UK for T25 and it looks like it'll be the same for B25. Shame. What's the point of celebrating a landmark album if nobody knows it's released? T25 did ok but it could have done more. Why didn't the estate secure a promotion with Pepsi for the UK market?

"Dorian, if you stay tuned, you will find about the Pepsi updates at the right moment!"
Wow, didn't expect that!
I think it's fair to say our little funny country doesn't usually get much stuff like that...

@MJJLatvia: The crowd on Queen's shows are very involved into the whole show, the crowd has their part in the shows. Radio Gaga, We Will Rock You, Love Of My Life, Another One Bites The Dust, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, the many call and responses, etc.
Freddie and the band wanted to involve the audience into the show, they wanted them to be a huge part of the concert, to sing along and clap on songs (that were wrote just for that) like Radio Gaga or We Will Rock You.
Audience shots in their performances are very important since they were huge crowds who were very involved in the show. Nobody wants to see nothing but Freddie singing and "throwing his c*nt around the stage" (in his own words) and Roger Taylor banging his drums for whole minutes and stuff like that. That stuff is great, but the audience is the main attraction on songs like We Will Rock You, Radio Gaga, and the others I mentioned. Not to mention that the crowd shots from their concerts are showing the audience as a whole (most of the time) rather than individuals who scream and bang their heads or whatever. THAT would be boring, but not seeing a sea of people clap their hands at the same time to Radio Gaga or sing the verses to Love Of My Life with Freddie just standing there.
With that said, it's a whole different story on Michael's concerts.

Hi there, I contacted Pepsi UK (Britvic) to see if these cans would be available in the UK and it's bad news for UK people.
Here is there reply:
"Thank you for your e-mail. I can confirm unfortunately these cans will not be available to buy in the UK. I hope this information is useful. Kind regards"
Not cool

That's true, but even in Michael's concerts I can recall songs like Human Nature which involves audience as well. I think there must be some other songs as well, but can't recall at the moment. Even when Michael is doing ''hee hees'' and ''auuch'' before the songs he involves audience similiar way Freddie did. Anyway, the audience as whole is better IMO in all situations and songs rather than watching on one individual. That doesn't give hype for me but I wish to see Michael at that point and skip that shot. Audience shots from above look very great and aren't boring for me at least.
I love the parts in songs live where song meets it's one of culminations, before that light is turned down and then suddenly goes bright and shows epic crowd. Something like that is in MITM as well :)

I agree. Crowd shots are important and some are very cool. Just not the excessive close ups of random screaming girls or people fainting. I don't care about that stuff. I just wanna see Michael dance.
Shots of the whole crowd and stuff like that are cool though. They show you how big and important MJ's concerts were.

MJ never recorded with RUN D.M.C. It was a project only.
And regarding some tracks you mentioned like Scared Of The Moon, We Are The World, Eaten Alive, they're closer to the Thriller era than Bad era.
IJCSLY (French version) is poorly translated, too bad.

Why would people expect songs they never heard any word of, except a title of it online, and not expect a track like Don't Be Messin', which Bruce Swedien has specifially mentioned a couple of times and vaguely described it. I have yet to see someone mention it in their wishlist, yet songs may not have been recorded (for all we know) and songs that have pretty much nothing to do with the Bad sessions (Eaten Alive demo, Get It) are being mentioned. I just find that a bit strange, that's all.

After meeting and discussing a demo called "Crack Kills", however, Run DMC's concerns (or posturing) dissipated. "He's the best man in the world," Rev Run gushed. "He's an incredible human being. We ate soul food at Michael's studio last night, and it seemed like he was in touch with God. He's so calm, so content, and I'm going to go into the studio to do a tape with him. It'll be an anti-crack song... The whole thing was just great..." Unfortunately, the collaboration between the Kings of Hip-Hop and the King of Pop was never realized for the album, though there are existing demos. Joe Vogel
Scared Of The Moon, We Are The World, Eaten Alive are from 1985. For me that is the start of the Bad era. Early version of Smooth Criminal was written in 1985 too. Liberian Girl even earlier than that. For me Thriller era is 1981-1984. Bad Era 1985-1989.

Bad sessions/project started in 1986. But it's true that MJ had some ideas before that date. Anyway, I find the style of We Are the World, Scared Of The Moon, Eaten Alive, closer to Thriller style than what we got to hear on BAD album.

I
I JUST CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU
written by Michael Jackson
Recorded in 1987 with Quincy Jones protege Siedah Garrett after Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand turned the song down. Siedah didn't even know Quincy wanted her to do the duet until she came to the
actual recording session.
The spoken intro was recorded while Michael was laying in the bed. It was later edited from later pressings
from the album and compilations.
The lead single from Bad. Released in June 1987, went to #1 on the Hot 100 and the R&B charts, making it the 3rd
best selling single of 1987. It also peaked at #1 in the UK for 2 weeks.
Many fans believe that "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" was the song that replaced "Fly Away"
Performed live with Sheryl Crow on the 1987-89 Bad World Tour and the 1992-93 Dangerous World Tour.

BAD
written by Michael Jackson
the title track of the album
Originally intended as a duet with Prince
"Prince was excited to have been asked" said Susan Rogers in Prince Bio "DMSR", "But he said to me,
'I just don't do that stuff' and I think he felt Michael was going to make himself look better.
The idea for the video was to have the two megastars take turns singing and dancing, in order to determine who was
the "baddest".
The entire idea fell through so Michael recorded it alone. Before the song was complete
with lyrics, The working track was titled "Pee", then became "Who's Bad", then "BAD"
The short film was loosely based on the story of Edmund Perry, a young black man shot to death when
he returned home to Harlem New York from a private college.
The short film was shot in late 1986(months before the album was completed) was directed by legendary
director Martin Scorsese and co-starred a young and then unknown Wesley Snipes.
It was shot in Harlem New York and was the first film shot for the BAD project.
It premiered in August 31, 1987 during the
CBS TV special "The Magic Returns".
The second single from the Bad album. Peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 for 7 weeks, #1 on the R&B charts
for 3 weeks. Charted at #3 in the UK.
Performed on the 1987-89 Bad World Tour, and on some of the first dates on the 1992-93 Dangerous Tour

the concept. That following Sunday, Siedah Garrett, who worked with Ballard, stopped by his house with the song.

somewhat the hard rock version of 1982's "Billie Jean", it was cited as Michael's favorite song on the album.
Guitarist Steve Stevens, Billy Idol's lead guitarist, made a special appearance on the song and in the 1988 video
The fifth single and fifth to hit #1 on the Hot 100, giving the album a record 5 #1 singles, a record
that has yet to be broken.
also charted at #5 on the R&B charts and #4 in the UK.
It was Michael's first live video. Filmed in Long Beach California by Joe Pytka and premiered on April 14, 1988, while
Michael was performing in Atlanta Georgia at the Omni during the USA leg of the Bad Tour.
Various performances of the song were aired on TV from the tour in Kansas City, New York City, and Rome
Quincy Jones likened the song to an uptempo version of Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly and liked
the theatrics in the song.
In 2003, Jones also said it was "one of those songs you just can't mess with because you can feel
it's coming from a deep place in his life."
Ben Liebrand's remix of the song includes samples of the 1981 live version of Rock With You, Beat It
and State of Shock.

LEAVE ME ALONE
written by Michael Jackson
Originally included as a the bonus track on the CD release of Bad in August 1987
Released as the eighth single from the album, charting at #2 in the UK, not released in the U.S
Shot in mid 1987 along with "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Smooth Criminal", "BAD", and "Speed Demon",
the animated short film was directed by Jim Blashfield and Paul Diener, was first released as part
of Michael's 1988 film, "Moonwalker."
The video was a sarcastic look at the stories written about Michael in the tabloids such as his bidding
on the bones of the Elephant Man and marriage proposal and personal shrine to longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor.
"I worked hard on the song, sticking vocals on top of each other like layers of clouds," said Michael "I'm sending a
simple message here: Leave me alone! The song is about a relationship between a guy and a girl, but what I'm really saying
to people who are bothering me is leave me alone."

A song Michael passed over for his Bad Album was La Isla Bonita by Patrick Leonard who worked with Michael on the Victory Tour. Leonard composed the song with Michael in my mind but it ended up being recorded by Madonna who wrote the lyrics to the song. The song went to No. 1 on the UK charts on 25 April 1987 for 2 weeks. La Isla Bonita peaked at no. 4 on the US Billboard singles chart. "

I just hope they don't ruin the BAD25 project by involving some current singers to mix and sing MJ's songs from BAD as it was done for Thriller25.
I can understand MJ's choice when he was alive to re-launch the hype with other artists such as Will I am and Akon on Thriller25, before dropping his own bomb, but now as MJ is dead we don't need anyone else's voice than Mike's and the artists who originally performed and collaborated back in 1986 and 1987.
It's really a shame though that we didn't get Victory Tour video with Thriller25.
For BAD25 it would be a good idea to include a special blu-ray edition with Victory tour + pepsi commercials and Bad tour + pepsi commercials.
p.s. Quincy Jones said that MJ had 66 songs ready for the BAD album. Those 66 songs were ready in one shape or another. Probably not completely recorded. Nevertheless I hope they include those 66 projects on BAD25 in the state they were back then, be it lyricks, some demos, melodies, hummings, whatever. I just hope they put the whole thing on BAD25 in order to get an idea how BAD was conceived and born. What difficult choices they had and what kind of compromises they were facing.
For example BAD video and song was initially supposed to be sung in duet with Prince.
T9ZN9nKQqe0&feature=related
p.p.s. Now a crazy idea. Just to quote what MJ said, 'when the whole world says "no", you say "yes" '
It would be great if actually they release a bonus CD with initial project and call Quincy Jones and Prince into the studio and if they finally recorded that duet for the song BAD!

Warner didn't used the original 35mm film master for the bluray release. That's why they cropped it.
The original 'moonwalker' film reels were found not so long ago. That would be at its original aspect ratio.

If prince could record the Bad duet...the media will shit bricks. It would make news, and is good for promotion
He didn't want to record it back when Michael was alive, so why should he do it now? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
I'm personally not a fan of the idea anybody (Prince or not) to come and sing on one of his songs now that he's gone, but that's just me.

Now is different than before for the simple reason that they were both much younger and full of energy. No matter what he says in the interview there had always been some kind of competition.
It wouldn't be hypocritical, but just as a sign of good old times. A little wink ;)
Also, I wouldn't agree anyone else to put on that song except Prince. If anyone has to do it it must be Prince, because that was the initial plan.

So he didn't record the track because he was afraid Michael was gonna be the 'Badder' one in that song and he'd sort of 'lose', but now it's okay, considering Michael is dead and it's no longer a competition, therefor he can't technically 'lose'. What if Michael was alive now, running the Bad25 project, asking Prince to do that duet now. You think Prince would accept now? Doubt it. Or even better, would Michael even bother asking Prince to do it now, after all those years?
I guess you're right, it doesn't sound hypocritical, it actually sounds like he's just a coward. Then again, I'm not really a big Prince fan so that might explain why I have this attitude towards him.
In all honestly, I'm just afraid that he'll steal the spotlight on this project. Something which he couldn't have done when Michael was alive (see my point?). This should be about celebrating Michael, his music, the Bad album in particular, that era, etc. Not about Prince or not about anybody else...
So it might help Bad25 sell better, but that's not he point. There are more important things than just making sure this sells a lot.

It's not a question of marketing or sales.
Even if MJ was alive today, I'd so love to see them both performing.
I dunno if you are a kid of the 80s, but back then it was MJ and Prince. Separately. Seeing them together is a challenge. A dream come true. It's like fire and water.
I would just find it very exciting and amusing.

I assume that implies liking both (at least to a certain degree). I just happen to like one of them, and it's not Prince.
Still, other people might like to see this happen so who am I to say no to that? I just wouldn't be a big fan of it, doesn't mean it would appall me like having Justin Bieber do it or anybody else who not only completely sucks, but has nothing to do with the Bad album in the first place.
I might not like Prince, but he's still a WAAAAAAAAY better choice for this, not to mention way more relevant, than having some unrelated, non-talented artist coming in and doing this.

Now you got my point.
I am not a Prince fan at all, but I have much respect for him as an artist. We cannot deny when someone is a genius, even if we're not his fans or even if we do'nt necessarily like his art.
James Brown paid respect to both of them, and he was right. I bet James Brown would have loved to see them both MJ and Prince perform too.
What would be awesome though is to see a trio: James Brown, MJ and Prince. Too bad they never recorded a song together.
SBkp-2k3_Vo&feature=related
p.s. I love how Prince threw his glove into public at 2.20 and then all of sudden you see someone throwing it back loooooooooooool
p.p.s. And I am actually surprised that MJ, who loved James Brown so much, never recorded a song with him.

Many films are sold on Blu-Ray and DVD in the same box, and for a reason. People who travel don't need blu-ray, as DVD quality is equal to blu-ray's on smaller screens (well to the human eye). I don't see why they couldn't press it on dvds as well.

Nothing official is confirmed or anything.
BUT - The Estate (or SONY) released the BAD25 logo, so something regarding BAD25 is in the works for sure. - But so far no official statement what so ever.
We do not know if they will release a Live CD, a BAD concert or a BAD25 like T25. - Maybe they just re-release the 2001 BAD edition again - you never know.
But we expect a LOT more than that - but thus far it is all only speculation.

We do not know if they will release a Live CD, a BAD concert or a BAD25 like T25. - Maybe they just re-release the 2001 BAD edition again - you never know.
But we expect a LOT more than that - but thus far it is all only speculation.
Sony better not re - release the 2001 BAD edition. That would be a waste plus I want something new.

I think Sony should just ask the fans what they want straight out.

So if the Bad tour is in the works which date would be most likely the show that gets released? Anybody have any idea??
Well since they're going to release the second leg of the tour when he performed at Wembley. Then they should release on July 14th because that's the first time he performed there.

:rollin:
theres hundreds of hours of recorded footage of MJ never There would definatly be enough to keep releasing new footage for the rest of all our lives..
I'm excited...yet sad for this Bad25 album cause it hurts that MJ won't be doin the promotion like he did Thriller 25. The Bad era is when I became an MJ fan so it's special for me. And it sucks that he isn't here to do this himself. Would have been awesome to see what would have been his ideas for Bad25. This is and will be so bitter sweet....atleast for me. *Sigh* =,(
I dont think MJ did any promotion himself for Thriller 25 - he mentioned it once saying he was working on it when he recieved and award in france. But I agree the fact he isnt here behind it the scene conducting makes it sadder
SONY and Pepsi did most the promotion for T25 far as I remember _ With the Thrillicious add for Super bowl. Then Dancerswould appear ivarious NY locations with the Thrillicous Truck giving away the product and dancing to Thriler. Pepsi/ Sony Sponsored some fan event and flash mobs. SONY redesigned all of MJ official social network sites and added more like MJ myspace. put out the "Thriller Cast" audio snippets on MJ .com from those who were involved or worked with MJ during Thriller. SONY Placed Adds all over the internet Music sites Youtube etc etc _ Adds on all major TV shows - Will i am Akon did lots of promotional interviews live and internet. but no sign of MJ .. He contracted SONY PEPSI to do that.
This is one of may favs promotions at various locations in NYC

True Qbee MJ did more behind the scenes for Thriller 25 which will be missing for Bad 25. But, he did promote Thriller 25 too. Let's not forget the 2007 Ebony magazine he appreared on which talk about 25 yrs after Thriller. Far more better promotion it can not have been then from the man himself. ;)

And imagine a video to that. With today technology it would be possible.
Not long ago I saw what some fans can do with amateurish equipment. Imagine a company like SONY? They'd be able to do marvels if only they put their hearts into it.
Look for exampel what a fan made for MJ's Threatened. I find it excellent!
KgnCtTM4rPk
that's phenomenal. but i dont think sony COULD make something that amazing. this video was clearly made in love. i don't think sony gets it. the stuff they've put out doesn't have any heart. I'd rather watch this fanmade video a hundred times than watch the video they made for hold my hand or hollywood tonight.
A fanmade clip with Michael dancing in sync with the music is very rare...:D. Really really well done.
For example 1.59 (wow!), 2.10 (nice!) and 2.44-2.45.
oh and...2.23 ("Neverneverland, that's the place"..:D).

Well I guess some may be obsessed with Zakk too .. he's BAD :) He rules in this thread and as MJJLatvia says just simple fun passing the time in the thread untill an official announcement is made.

His posts are so different one from another and extremely rich in different pieces of information that it is impossible to single out only one of his posts. So I thought that quotiong the compilation of his diverse posts would reflect the best the content of this thread to Staffordshire Bullterrier who had apparently missed the whole discussion in this thread.
All other posts are poorly detailed and quite insignificant, that's why I did not include them in my summary to Staffordshire Bullterrier.
p.s. I don't know why, but every time I write Staffordshire Bullterrier I feel like barking.
Just seen the new BAD25 pic which sais "BAD25 KEEP CALM AND WATCH BAD TOUR" hopefully this means a BAD World Tour 1988 DVD & Blu-Ray is in the works I want to see a concert from 88' so BAD.

Disagreed. Some of Dangerous tour performances were better. SC obviously - THE LEAN :D Dangerous tour is the best Billie Jean IMO. About MITM, not really comparing to DWT, but DWT MITMs (at least some of them) were GREAT. My personal fav - Monza 1992 July 7 :D
