Michael Jackson Scream - The Album

Michael would of welcomed being made animated to highlight his unknown gems to the general public.

The estate should release threatened as a new release and promote it with a cool spooky video.

It would be amazing if the fan community could of made this no1 for Halloween in honour of his memory for that night.

I agree with this - They really should release Threatened to promote this and do it right.

They better do something to promote. I was just browsing the U.S iTunes Store and its not even in the top 200 albums. Not a surprise to me but I thought it would hang on longer. Maybe the cartoon will get it going again. I like the collection but I already own all the songs not going to buy them again. I did buy the mash up and the Thriller remix so I did contribute to the cause.

I've got the Album.

Awesome artwork and decent selection of songs.

But I'm still puzzled some songs were omitted. Songs I would have included are:
1. Is it Scary - everyone can agree on that
2. 2 Bad
3. Thriller Megamix - it's rare to find it on CD but it's an awesome track.
4. Behind The Mask - a outstanding song that should have been the focus of the Michael album
5. Smooth Criminal
6. Scared Of The Moon - Quite different from the Halloween theme but could also be the title of the album.
7. A remix or two from the classic maxi singles from the 90's (probably Ghosts) - most haven't heard them and some are quite good

I think they should use the "collection" album to showcase some songs that are currently out of print for a physical format. A lot of the stuff on maxi singles still cannot be found on digital.

Maybe there will be a 'Scream II'! (I don't think 'Scared of the Moon' would be likely to make it onto a dance album though).

'Scared Of The Moon' would have worked perfectly. It can be interpreted in many ways. All of which are dark :(

'Little Susie' is another.

Did they specify whether this was a dance album?

What about 'Mind Is Magic?'

I've always considered 'Somebody's Watching Me' a Michael track. It was sampled by another artist later on - only Michael's parts. I'm glad it's getting some love! :)

They could have even done something with 'Off The Wall' with the first 'halloween' intro. Or even 'The Boogie Man' by Jackson 5 if they want to go way back, ha!

^They did specify it was a dance album, yes. So Little Susie and Scared of the Moon wouldn’t fit with what they were going for.

Even if the album wasn't dance-oriented, Scared of the Moon doesn't fit the Halloween bill whatsoever. Same with Off the Wall.

Little Susie and Is It Scary most certainly should have been included. Those are easily the darkest songs in Michael's catalog.

nooooooooooooooooo "michael " tracks!!!!!!

I bought this today. It did not cost much, will listen to it eventually. I heard the remix on it sounds dire, given the standards of other remixes - Thriller 25, Xscape, Bad25 etc, I am not expecting big things.

nooooooooooooooooo "michael " tracks!!!!!!

Behind the Mask is definitely one of the better tracks on that album - I'd include it amongst those that deserve to be re-approached and re-released.

Did anyone win a prize from the contest yet? I entered but haven't heard anything. I'm speaking of the Scream album contest that the Estate had. I only got an email saying that they received my entry.

I stand corrected. It's a dance album. However, that still doesn't change the fact that the songs are listed are still within the dark/horror realm. If not lyrically, musically.

'Scared Of The Moon' - 'She pulls up the covers and shivers in fright' 'The moon hits the enemy twisting her soul'

I'd end up quoting the whole song. There's so much you can go with that. In fact, I'd say it's like a predecessor to 'Little Susie', and just as dark in it's own way.

'Off The Wall' - Musically set the tone for 'Thriller' with the intro - which returns in the middle. There's a reason it was used for the 'Making Of Thriller' montage. It fit perfectly. Just like 'Thriller', the horror is played for laughs. The 'ghosts' are the Party People disturbing the peace. At least that's one way to look at it..

'Mind Is Magic' - More mysterious in nature, but still uses darkness to convey that message. From the abrupt, stop-and-start intro, to the lower register vocals, and the building of suspense. 'So be it!'

'The Boogie Man' - Is talking about relationships. However, it still uses frightening folklore to get that point across. The deep laughter.. It's actually hilarious!

I would even throw 'Eaten Alive' in there. Although Michael makes a briefer appearance than 'Somebody's Watching Me'..

How are the ones I listed not suited for a horror themed album, yet songs like 'Unbreakable', 'Leave Me Alone', and 'Scream' which are angry anti media songs, are worthy of making the tracklist?

I think he features more heavily on Eaten alive, especially on the extended mix. If they turned the volume up on his vocal and edited it slightly differently, it's almost a duet. He has at least two lines in there. (I prefer eaten alive over 'watching me')

Can I just ask who hosts these "Scream Album Release Party" events? I mean, is there someone from Sony present, introducing Thriller3D/Ghosts and welcoming the fans or how does it work?

In London there was a 'media host' (Kevin Hughes), who introduced the event from the stage. If anyone from Sony was there, they didn't identify themselves or speak publicly.

Michael Jackson SCREAM Debuts #3 Current And Overall On Both R&B And Pop Album Charts & Top 10 Physical & Overall Albums

MICHAEL JACKSON SELLS ALBUMS! - SCREAM IS AN ESSENTIAL PLAYLIST FOR EVERYONE'S OCTOBER PARTY AND KICKS OFF THE MICHAEL JACKSON'S TAKEOVER OF HALLOWEEN FOR YEARS TO COME

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Jackson SCREAM, a collection of 13 of his all-time most electrifying and danceable tracks including Thriller, Dangerous, Blood On The Dance, Floor, Ghosts, Torture, and Dirty Diana, debuted on the album charts at #3 on Current and Overall Pop and #3 on Current and Overall R&B and #8 and #10 for Physical and Overall Album sales, respectively. It also debuted in the top 10 landing at #9 in the UK. SCREAM is the essential playlist for the Michael Jackson takeover of Halloween, which also includes Michael Jackson's Halloween, an animated special which premiered at Comic Con last week, and will have its official premiere on October 27 on CBS.

The choice of tracks for SCREAM reflects The King of Pop's affection for this time of the year and its themes of costumes and disguise, darkness and light, character transformations and surprise. It's the perfect soundtrack for Halloween/October parties. Consequence of Sound wrote, SCREAM is "a collection that usefully corrals the man's darkest and spookiest fare into a convincing and sonically fluid totality of its own." The album will also be available on October 27 in glow-in-dark vinyl. CDs and vinyl each containing a poster unique to the format. Fittingly, the poster and cover art conceal the first-ever AR (augmented reality) experience created for a Michael Jackson project.

Each track on SCREAM is remarkable in its own way. For example, "Thriller", penned by Rod Temperton, was the seventh of an unprecedented seven Top 10 singles from Thriller, the biggest-selling album of all time; "Dirty Diana," was the fifth consecutive No. 1 song from the album Bad which shattered records for consecutive chart topping singles off a single album; and the Top 5 hit "Scream" is the only duet between Michael Jackson and his sister Janet. Also included are fan favorites from The Jacksons' albums - "Torture" and "This Place Hotel" (the first single to be written, composed, and arranged solely by Michael); and, making its first appearance on a Michael Jackson album, "Somebody's Watching Me," the international 1985 hit by Rockwell featuring an iconic hook sung by Michael.

SCREAM is available on iTunes now: https://MichaelJackson.lnk.to/SCREAM_itunes. SCREAM is also available on AMAZON: https://MichaelJackson.lnk.to/SCREAM_amazon and on collectible, glow-in-the-dark 2LP vinyl (which will be released on October 27): https://MichaelJackson.lnk.to/SCREAM_VINYL.

Fans are invited to Official Michael Jackson SCREAM Album Celebrations this fall. The first of these celebrations took place in London and Sydney. Paris and Berlin are hosting events this week and the celebrations in Los Angeles and Tokyo will be later this month. The events will feature the full-length 40-minute Michael Jackson's Ghosts, rarely seen following its initial screening at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival and "Michael Jackson's Thriller" in 3D. An after-party will follow each celebration.

That video edit is top notch. Some of the clips look like alternate takes or views? Or is it just filters.
I'm so glad they put the video of botdf "everything was on my side" to sync the mash up. Love that part. Well done estate.

The video is great but couldn't they have released Threatened as a single for Halloween with this video? It would give Threatened that much needed exposure that it deserves.

My stance may not be popular but... As we know most future releases will have computational clips from various MJ videos. Since it could get redundant very quickly, why not save it for something more "important" than a remix of old songs? IDK it's just me.. There are several actual songs of Mikes that deserve attention over a remix...

just my opinion
