Munich Air Disaster Anniversary - 6th February 1958

Currently reflecting on the Munich Air Disaster which was 54 years ago today

The last lineup of possibly one of the greatest Manchester United teams ever!


On the 50th Anniversary 4 years ago (I was in this stand but just out of shot in first tier)


Geoff Bent (25yrs), Roger Byrne (28yrs), Eddie Colman (21yrs), Duncan Edwards (who dies 15 days later from his injuries), Mark Jones (24yrs), David Pegg (22yrs), Tommy Taylor (26yrs), Liam Whelan (22yrs). Not forgetting Manchester City legend Frank Swift who was working as a Journalist at the time. Also 2 crew members, 3 Manchester United staff, 7 other Journalists & two passengers.

All footballing rivalry ceases for the day as we remember those who lost their lives 54 years ago.

R.I.P I watched a documentary on MUTV, It's a real shame. Those boys had such amazing talent.

RIP all the people who died on that plane and let's hope the other people who didn't died, but who had bad injuries, are doing well...
