Burned tonight

I just burned a book in the stove.
Ok it´s not tabloidburning but in the book there was a man who had had an accident with his face and hadn´t much nose left.They called him Michael Jackson.
It was only a few lines about it but it was enough for me.

I use to recycle and I give books I don´t want to secondhand shops.
I suppose I could have burned the cover and left the rest to the recycling,to end up as toiletpaper.
That had felt good too.
I wonder why an author write these kind of things,I understand tabloids want to sell more numbers but I don´t understand the purpose to write about it in a book.
