‘Will You Be There,’ the eighth single from ‘Dangerous’ released on May 24, enters the charts at number 11 peaking at number 9 and remains on the charts for eight weeks.
Michael’s ‘Dangerous’ album is certified Multi-Platinum. Billboard Online report “the ‘Dangerous’ album has just been certified 7 times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).” Michael becomes a key investor and partner of HollywoodTicket.com Inc. HollywoodTicket.com is a new celebrity funded and supported interactive entertainment site, designed to bring fans top-of-the-line entertainment access. The company has plans to join with leaders in the entertainment industry in order to bring fans this exciting and innovative new website.
The new project, which is headed up by Derek Rundell, President and CEO, will center around a website that offers interactive film production (where fans get to vote online about script concepts, actors, costumes, even the film director), "Dream Sweepstakes" (where fans can win prizes like hot concert tickets, movie premier tickets, or even lunch with your favorite celebrity), insider Hollywood news, merchandise and auctions. HollywoodTicket.com will cover all the major outlets of entertainment (i.e., television, Internet, music, sports, books and movies).

Michael and Sony/ATV announce that they have acquired Famous Music LLC to add to their existing music publishing portfolio. Famous Music LLC includes 125,000 songs, from classics to contemporary hits from stars like Shakira and Eminem. Still in London, Michael waves to fans from his hotel window. The sale of Jackson family memorabilia begins at the Hard Rock Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, and bids for thousands of items are expected from every corner of the world. The items were seized as part of a bankruptcy settlement when a Jackson family business failed. The memorabilia has been insured for £100 million and ten percent of the proceeds are to be shared between five children’s charities in America. Universal Express, who are auctioning the items, have also been encouraging celebrities associated with those charities to act as auctioneers, hoping to increase the bidding.
