Default Quantum Leap- Dancing the dream

    Quantum Leap

I looked for you in hill and dale
I sought for you beyond the pale
I searched for you in every nook and cranny
My probing was at times uncanny
But everywhere I looked I found
I was just going round and round
In every storm, in every gale
I could hear your silent tale

    You appeared wherever I went
In every taste, in every scent
    I thought I was in a trance
In every quiver I felt your dance
In every sight I saw your glance
You were there, as if by chance

    Even so, I have faltered
Despite the fact, my life has altered
All my doubts were struggles in vain
Of judgments made in memories of pain
    Only now, by letting go
I can bask in your glow
No matter where I stray or flow
I see the splendor of your show
In every drama I am the actor
In every experience the timeless factor

    In every dealing, every deed
You are there, as the seed
I know now, for I have seen
What could have happened could have been
There is no need to try so hard
For in your sleeve you hold the card
    For every fortune, every fame
The Kingdom's here for us to claim
    In every fire, every hearth
There's a spark gives new birth

To all those songs never sung
All those longings in hearts still young
Beyond all hearing, beyond all seeing
In the core of your Being
Is a field that spans infinity
Unbounded pure is the embryo of divinity
If we could for one moment BE
In an instant we would see
A world where no one has suffered or toiled
    Of pristine beauty never soiled
    Of sparkling waters, singing skies
Of hills and valleys where no one dies

That enchanted garden, that wondrous place
Where we once frolicked in times of grace
    In ourselves a little deep
In that junkyard in that heap
Beneath that mound of guilt and sorrow
Is the splendor of another tomorrow
If you still have promises to keep
Just take that plunge, take that leap.

The above reminds me of an old swedish poem from 1796 written by a woman Anna Maria Lenngren
It´s about the innocence of children and how we change when we get older

    The boys
    I remember the delightful times,
    I remember it like yesterday,
    when innocence and peace
    closely followed my tracks,
    when vices were like witchery,
    and grief never lasted,
    when everything except my homework
    I found easy and funny.

Up on my mouth was laughter
    and health in my blood
    in my soul, merriment reigned
I considered each person as being kind and good
    Each lad, cheerful and boisterous,
was immediately my friend and brother.
    All girls were my sisters
every old woman was a mother to me.

    I remember the open fields,
that I crossed running so so many times,
where often I was a hero
    in games and go,
    thousand merry pranks
in the brisk wind of summer
    with butterflies in the Hat
    and rosy cheeks

    By deceit and betrayal
    I did not know yet,
    in each playmate
    I saw a faithful friend.
    The treacherous, protracted strifes
    were unknown to us
with the cuff on your cheek
the fury also ceased to exist.

    In those days
I did not consider differences in rank
    peasants and barons;
all were the same to me
In joy and frenzy of the game
    the one of us children
who throw the hardest stroke with the ball,
    was the most distinguished fellow.

We did not hesitate to truthfully praise and blame alike
a strict impartiality was used at the most trifling game.
To the child dressed in the worst rags
    we awarded the victory
when he fairly and squarely beat the king
and the earl missed his mark.

How loud was our complaint heard
    our tender hearts were smarting
    at the scolding and punishment
    that any playmate suffered
How happy we were to retrieve the joy
    that the rod wrecked
I shared my last cookie with the poor wretch.

    But,my friends of youth
    the times have changed indeed!
I do not know you any more
    neither do you know me
    They now are government employees
    The former lads
    contending for the privileges
    and for titles.

With a load of forty years
    they laborously struggle
    up the hill
where the temple of Success is rumoured to be found.
    Who is then this maiden
    so eagerly sought after
A cold heart underneath the covering of decorations
a sallow complexion, and fancy ribbons.

I think Michaels prose and poetry is part of his legacy and more people should know about it.

When I was a young girl I worked in a home for older people.Once my workmate said something like it is best you get clothes on before the boys are coming to an old woman.
The woman heard "the boys" and responded oh, do you know that poem too?
She was 60-70 years older than we but we had learned the same poem in school, different times.
I wish that Michaels prose and poetry should be spread from generation to generation too, and teachers could use them in school
