Today in Michael Jackson History January 15th
1973 The Jackson 5 recorded Melodie, for Motown Records in Detroit. The song
Melodie" remained unreleased until it appeared newly mixed on Michael's album,
"Farewell My Summer Love".
1997 Michael stayed two weeks in the Tower Suite at the Montreux Palace in Montreux
Switzerland to complete work on his album Blood On The Dance Floor. The news spread
very quickly, and fans from all over Europe came to Montreux. They would gather at the
entrance of Montreux Palace day and night hoping to see him or for a photo or autograph.
2003 Michael Jackson attended a priivate funeral for Maurice Gibb's, who passed away
on January 12. The service was held in Riverside Funeral Chapel, Miami Beach, Florida.
An hour after the official service Barry Gibb & Michael who were close friends returned
to privately pay respects to Maurice one last time.
2004 Michael Jackson's video "Number Ones" was certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA.
2005 Michael Jackson was admitted to the hospital with flu-like symptoms which delayed
the start of jury selection for his trial. Jackson was hospitaized overnight.
