1971 - "I'll Be There" by The Jackson 5 hit #4 on the UK Pop singles chart.The most successful single ever released by the Jackson 5, "I'll Be There" sold 4.2 million copies in the United States, and 6.1 million copies worldwide. It replaced Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" as the most successful single released on Motown in the U.S
1988 - "The Way You Make Me Feel" reaches No# 1 in the Billboard US Top 40 singles chart. The song is the 3rd single from his BAD album. The song also charted at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles Charts and Dance Music/Hot Club Play Singles Chart. The single spent four weeks at the top of the Black singles chart. TWYMMF became Michael's 7th #1 solo single of the 80s. This broke the record for the most #1 hits in the 80s. Michael Jackson was now the most successful solo artist of the decade.
1995 - Michael Jackson spends the last of four days in Los Angeles playing host to King Nana Amon Ndoufou IV, ruler of Sanwi on the Ivory Coast, Africa.
2002 - Michael Jackson's single 'Cry' was released in Japan. The Tracklist: Cry, Shout, Streetwalker and the
Cry (short film). The Japanese version includes the lyrics of the song 'Cry and Shout as well as the Japanese translation of these lyrics.
2004 - The judge in the Michael Jackson case sealed 82 pages of documents and refused to lift a gag order
