I now want to experiment a bit, my dilemma is should I use original "Slave" or the new Timbaland mix?

The new one the beat makes you get up and dance it is more uptempo then the org one imo.

why ain't there 15 tracks? lol.. if we were to put both albums together then i think Hold my Hand should be the lead track..

Omitted "The way you love me" because Michael already released it when alive. Regarding the first track, I can't see "Hold My Hand" as an opener. Besides it has an optimistic goodbye feel and is the perfect follower to "Much Too Soon", which, although melodically strong, is a very sad way to end an album.

Why don't you like Xscape as lead song Zakk?

Michael was planning to release the way you love me during his comeback in London, Neff-U was working on a final mix just days before Michael passed! just because it was already released doesn't mean that it should be disregarded.. i'm fairly sure the mix we have is from the last time it was worked on during Michael's lifetime! plus i think the phone intro is from 2008.. beautiful song, and it was obvious that Michael loved it..

Also, i just think with the opening string's and Michael's soulful voice guiding us through a story.. i think it's the perfect opener! plus, it was said to be the first single from his next album, following with his plans i think it should be what he desired his project be like. I just hope we get song's such as 'Silent Spring' & Shut Up And Dance etc. in the future! would be great to have a compilation of the tracks he was planning to release in the most complete state that would be possible, from all the tapes & multi's they have!

I like the new mixes as a stand alone release just fine. But as far as the original mixies go I really do adore them, the unreleased tracks from the Invincible era are gems to me. I'm not sure if the rumor of MJ holding back better tracks until he go out of his Sony contract are true, but some of these songs really were better than some selected for the final tracklist.

Has anyone else put together a tracklist that compiles what "might" have been a 2003/4 album?
Currently I've been mixing up an Ipod tracklist with these songs and I've found a tracklist that works for me. Trying to stick to not including rough demos which is why WHE/TWTYLM is the only song from The Ultimate Collection included. I tried including Fall Again, Beautiful Girl, In The Back Etc., but the unfinished nature took me out of the Illusion of a complete album. Sure a good deal of these tracks were not given the final mix or stamp from MJ, but they are close enough to be enjoyed as a whole.

1. Xscape (Original Mix)
2. Shout (2001 B-side Cry Single)
3. We've Had Enough (2004 Ultimate Collection)
4. A Place With With No Name (Original Version)
5. Hollywood Tonight
(Michael Version, would have liked one closer to MJ's original but this is the best of the "finished" versions)
6. She Was Loving Me (Original Version)
7. Blue Gangsta (Original Version)
8. The Way That You Love Me (The Ultimate Collection Version)
9. Another Day (Michael Version, would have liked one closer to MJ's original but this is the only one available)
10. One More Chance (2003 Single)

My take would be:

1. Hold My Hand - (I would make a version with more MJ, maybe even a SOLO version - or a duet with a girl)
2. Hollywood Tonight
3. Best of Joy
4. Love Never Felt So Good (I would make a solo MJ Timbaland version!)
5. Do You Know Where Your Children Are
6. Blue Gangsta
7. Behind The Mask
8. Loving You
9. Another Day
10. Slave To The Rhytm
11. A Place With No Name
12. Chicago
13. Much Too Soon
14. We've Had Enough
15. Xscape

My take would be:

1. Hold My Hand - (I would make a version with more MJ, maybe even a SOLO version)

They would too. They used all the vocals he recorded. It was supposed to be a song for Akon's album.

I thought there was a SOLO version out there? A demo or something??

But then anyway - I would still make is a duet with a woman. - Maybe Beyonce... Or Adele - she's a great singer and sells well, and her voice is actually great!

There isn't. It was Akon featuring Michael Jackson song meant for Akon's 2008 Freedom album. They used all MJ vocals they had. Of course they would use more if they had it.

My tracklist:

-1. Behind the Mask
-2. Love Never Felt So Good w/ Justin Timberlake
-3. Chicago
-4. Hollywood Tonight
-5. Blue Gangsta (2010 Mix)
-6. (I Can't Make It) Another Day
-7. Slave to the Rhythm (Timbaland Mix)
-8. Do You Know Where Your Children Are (2010 Mix)
-9. A Place With No Name (Original)
-10. Hold My Hand w/ Akon
-11. Best of Joy
-12. Xscape

Bonus: Loving You (2014 Mix + Demo)

That's how my tracklist would look.. Much Too Soon would be a hidden track at the end of the album.
