Michael had more meaningful, deeper and superior lyrics in his 90s albums and not just because they were darker and more complex. He proved he wasn't naive as many people perceived him and had important things to say that it's a shame many don't stop to listen and reflect about it.

Although he could prove Michael had lyrics with quality and were personal meaning something to him since the Destiny days. I love both Destiny and Triumph albums but I prefer the lyrics on Destiny.
