Who is Going to See Janet Jackson in Concert?

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

I am planning to see Janet Jackson on Dec 1. This will be my first time seeing a Jackson in concert.

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

I sure am!! I saw her on the first leg of the Unbreakable World Tour. I'm hearing that the State of The World Tour will have some different elements and new merchandise.

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

I'm going in September

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

I haven't decided if I should get tickets or not. They aren't sold out here so I'm still thinking about it.
Maybe after the tour begins and I see/read about some feedback.
I love her, but she was here a year or two ago.

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

Hope everyone enjoys their shows!

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

Went to the concert last night!!

I'll say this, she put on a good show - was entertaining.. She still has her Janet Jackson stage presence and still got some moves on her.. Sounded good too! Now on the other hand it is much lower budget to her previous shows, staging could have been better and though she still got moves - I'll have to say it's not ALL there.. She pulled it off well but you can tell she reserved her energy in areas she would usually go "all out" etc. I mean she is in her 50's now and has been out of the game for a while (and just had a baby) so all considered she did great!

A Definite contrast to my first and last Janet concert I went to way back on the Velvet Rope tour but I will say it met my expectations.. She is still Janet Jackson!

Re: Who is seeing janet jackson

I just saw Janet on October 14th at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Vegas (where I live). It was a spectacular show and she of course paid tribute to the victims of the tragedy that occurred just two weeks prior at the hotel/casino.

I saw her in September and ended up getting interviewed after the show, I suppose because of my getup and being towards the front of the stage. Still haven't been able to find it, whatever it was for. Anyway, plan on seeing her again this July. :)

just to put my opinion in several months after going to the show.. looking back!

If you've never seen Janet live it is worth the show.. If you have seen her in one of her big production tours, it could be a let down. (depending on how big your janet fandom is)

I'll have to admit looking back, I wish Velvet Rope (which was my first janet concert) was THE concert I saw and I would have honestly probably skipped this last one. Just dampers on the full aspect of what a Janet Show could/should and used to be.

Boy am I glad this thread exists so I can just go all out instead of annoying my friends in real life lmao. (they're all really happy for me though). I'll just warn now, this may get lengthy...

I've never seen a Jackson in concert/person. Ever. Back in 2009 I was 20 years old and I remember being so disappointment that I did not have a job to pay for a flight from the States to England to see This Is It. I remember the rumors were going crazy at the time and there was one that said he was planning on eventually touring Asia and North America (which was apparently true). I remember promising myself that I would see him no matter where I would have to travel to in North America to do so. This would literally be a "this is it" for me because I likely would never get that opportunity again! Unfortunately we all know what didn't happen and why.

Fast forward some time to Janet's "Unbreakable" tour. She was scheduled to come into my backyard of Hershey Pa and I remember being on the fence about it. I have never been to a single tour of anyone...ever. I'm 29 years old and I am able to say that. I always said that because I couldn't see the best (Michael) then why the hell would I bother? Some may see that as a bit much and petty, but its what I've stuck with. I've never gone to a single major artist's show. I love Janet and there are a ton of songs that I enjoy of hers but I wouldn't say I'm like a "Die hard" or anything. Well, this was the time she ended up getting pregnant so she had to cancel the rest of the tour and she never made it to Hershey anyway.

In recent times I have been saying that I really just want to see 1 Jackson in my lifetime. "The Jacksons" are on tour right now in europe (I believe) and their ticket prices are a bit ridiculous anyway so that isn't much of an option to me. I would also feel a bit cheated not having Michael there. That pretty much leaves Janet. Well she recently extended her "State of the World" tour and she is indeed coming to Hershey in July and I viewed it as a sign. This literally might be my only opportunity to see not just a Jackson, but Janet who isn't no spring chicken herself. Honestly the opportunity to truly experience her is starting to go away and I decided that I do not want to regret not going to see her 10 or 20 years from now.

A buddy of mine's father works for Pepsi and he was somehow able to get a huge discount on the show. Basically in total I am paying 20 dollars to see her....yes you read that correctly TWENTY DOLLARS. That isn't something anyone can turn down with a straight face so I am happy to say I will be seeing her in July. I've watched her older concerts in the past but I understand they won't be anything like that. Heck, the stadium where she will be playing at is outdoors and not the greatest so I truly expect it to be kind of....I guess, low-budget? Theres a decent size indoor arena right beside it, but for some reason shes going to be in this much smaller outdoor thing, so I don't expect much.

I'm honestly just looking at it as an opportunity. I will be able to say I not only saw a Jackson in my lifetime but the Queen Jackson. Sure it wont be like Velvet Rope Janet or anything but it will still be Miss. Jackson. It is kind of like a closure thing for me. This is literally the best thing I am able to do in 2018 to come anywhere near not just her but Michael. I am looking at it as an opportunity to not just experience the greatness of Janet, but on some psychological thing I am seeing it as a way to kind of bridge some of the gap of pain I feel every day of not being able to experience her brother live. I will be wearing my Michael shirt singing and dancing along with Janet and just totally embrace the moment for what it is. All of my friends have lost their mind (in a good way) for me knowing that I am seeing her. Heck, even an ex girlfriend of mine of whom I had a bad falling out with showed some love my way when she saw it because she knows how important it is to me to somehow bridge this impossible gap in my soul.

This one's for Michael, and I can not wait for it!
