SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The undead danced in unison during multiple Michael Jackson tributes across the globe and throughout Santa Barbara County on Saturday and Sunday.

Jackson's iconic song "Thriller" has become an unofficial theme song for Halloween.

On Saturday, World Dance for Humanity organized a performance at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens with hundreds of zombie dancers performing for a huge crowd. On Sunday, the group again planned to dance at Neverland Ranch, Jackson's former home in the Santa Ynez Valley.

More dancers filled the Apple Store on State Street in Santa Barbara to show off their ghostly dance moves.

Similar "flash mobs" and parties have been held throughout the nation as the calendar draws closer to Halloween.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) &#8211; Despite the chill, some Lexintonians had a thrill Sunday night. They came out to watch the annual thriller parade.

The festival added new attractions this year. There was live entertainment throughout the day in addition to the traditional seasonal arts and crafts vendors.

Of course, the parade is always the big attraction and it ended as always with the thriller reenactment during which several hundred zombies &#8220;grooved&#8221; there way down Main Street.

More than 700 wild-eyed, bloody, spooky zombies &#8212; there aren&#8217;t too many other kinds &#8212; grunted, groaned and danced in downtown Lexington Sunday night in the city&#8217;s 16th annual &#8220;Thriller Parade.&#8221;

Accompanied by other scary creatures, the walking dead wowed an estimated 8,000 on-lookers for the cold fright night spectacular that USA Today calls a Top 10 Halloween destination in the United States.

The &#8220;bootiful&#8221; parade was a re-creation of Michael Jackson&#8217;s Thriller music video. The 13-minute video, voted the most influential pop music video of all time, premiered on MTV on Dec. 2, 1983, and has become a cult favorite.
Six Michael Jackson imitators led the army of &#8220;zombies&#8221; down Main Street in 36-degree weather.

I saw the Los Olivos and Neverland performances via Instagram Live. They were beautiful.

Dancers Groove to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' in Annual New York City Halloween Parade

Dancers at the New York City Halloween parade on October 31 moved to the beat of &#8220;Thriller&#8221; as part of the annual festivity in Greenwich Village.

Seen wearing a variety of costumes, dancers launched into a choreography of the popular Michael Jackson song as passerbys and other parade attendants watched from either side of the street. The dance is a tradition that has taken place every Halloween since 2004.
