Our colleague, Michael Gombos, Dark Horse Senior Director of Licensed Publications, shares this story of meeting @therealstanlee. ・・・ “I know Stan meant a lot to many people, but I wanted to share one of my experiences. I was at NYCC 2007 having a meeting with Mike R. and some folks from Japan, interpreting as I usually do, and had a short break as Mike went to chat some people up and our client got coffee. I hear someone say, “I have to ask you, are you really interpreting or just making stuff up because neither side can tell?” Turning around, it was Stan, grinning, and while I was momentarily star-struck at having met him, he sat down in one of the seats and talked to me, a comics industry greenhorn at the time. I explained what I was working on and he listened and asked questions, and after Mike and my client returned, he pointed at Mike and said, “Can you believe this guy? He wants to start a comic company!” and they had a laugh. As Stan departed he turned to me and said, “Good luck with the whole manga thing, but I have a feeling you’ll do okay,” and gave me a knowing wink.” #excelsior #ripstanlee #stanlee

Me and my brother Caleb had the pleasure of seeing Stan Lee pass by us back in 2015 at the WB booth at San Diego Comic-Con. So sad to hear about his passing today. Condolences to his family. #RIPStanLee

Sad news. He was 95 so I knew this day would come but I didn't expect it now. Legend. RIP Stan.

    This was great:

It's worth saying that Stan Lee didn't create The Fantastic Four until he was in his 40's. He proved that dreams don't have deadlines

I was saddened to hear this, aside from the huge impact hed had on our culture, I'll even miss the small things like wondering how his cameos will be snuck in within each marvel film.

Stan, you brought alot to this world and I am glad you knew how large your impact was when you lived..

    he knew he did good!

He was also hilarious. People should check out his Q&A Panels and interviews, and I love how he was never afraid to make fun of himself. His appearance on The Simpsons was great.
