Descendant of Louis XIV fails to stop 'disrespectful' exhibition in Versailles - A French descendant of Louis XIV has failed in his last-minute attempt to ban an exhibition by pop US artist Jeff Koons in Versailles, which he claimed disrespected his royal ancestors with "pornography

Since September, half a million visitors have flocked to the Sun King's palace to view 17 major works by the "king of kitsch" in its gardens and gilded galleries. These include an inflatable lobster, a porcelain representation of Michael Jackson and his chimp Bubbles, as well as Split-Rocker, an 11-tonne stainless steel dinosaur-rocking horse sculpture made from 90,000 live flowers, which is in the Orangerie garden. The show has proven so popular that it has been extended until January 4....

Local radio station switches formats
Posted by Sean Piccoli on December 25, 2008 at 3:17 PM

The smooth jazz station Love 94 (WLVE 93.9 FM) went off the air at 10 this morning, replaced by a rhythmic pop station called 93.9 FM-MIA whose tagline is "Move to the music," Clear Channel Radio Miami/Fort Lauderdale announced today. "The station will feature popular up-tempo music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today," said an e-mailed Christmas Day press release. "To celebrate the launch, 93.9-FM MIA is airing commercial-free music from artists including the Bee Gees, Madonna, Prince, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez."

The release quotes Brian Olson, President/Market Manager for Clear Channel Radio Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, saying that Love 94's smooth jazz format will be revived on Clear Channel's high-def digital radio network, at 93.9 HD2. A letter posted at the new station's Web site doesn't specify a date for Love 94's return in HD but says listeners should check back after the holidays for more information.
I tuned in this afternoon, 3:45 - 4:15 p.m., and the station played The Spinners' Working My Way Back to You/Forgive Me, Girl, Ace of Bass' Beautiful Life, TKA's One Way Love, a song I couldn't identify, Gnarls Barkley's Crazy, Human League's Don't You Want Me, Shaggy's Angel, CeCe Peniston's Finally and Michael Jackson's Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground).....

Tragic death of 'Mr Friday Night'
Friday, December 26, 2008, 09:30

A dad known as "Mr Friday Night" has died suddenly, leaving family and friends heartbroken.
Paul Mann, 45, who was a well-known face around Leicester, died following a heart attack.
He lived with his younger sister, Nisa Herrod, in Balmoral Drive, Braunstone Town, and the two were inseparable. The self-employed kitchen and bathroom fitter got the nickname of Mr Friday Night for going out and enjoying himself on a Friday. "Whenever Michael Jackson's Billie Jean came on, he would kick off his shoes and do the dance. "He was always full of life and could turn his hand to anything. And he was a perfectionist. "He had his little nicknames for everyone and had a great sense of humour. We miss him and I know he'll certainly be missed by a lot of people on Friday nights."

SPARE CHANGE/Jim Gillis
Another year bites the dust

While I notoriously hate New Year’s Eve (auld l’anxiety), the end of 2008 is worth celebrating, whether you head to Times Square and drink enough to help beef up the profits of the Anheuser Busch folks or wander down to First Night Newport and support the local arts. ......
But I’m in good company. Like me, Michael Jackson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Joan Jett, Madonna, Alec Baldwin, Prince and Kevin Bacon all joined the half-century club in 2008. And reassuring is that I feel relatively mature and stable compared to the one-time King of Pop.

Less reassuring is that a magazine this year noted that heartthrob Pfeiffer is now being offered “matronly” roles. What? Playing Mrs. Garrett in a “Facts of Life” remake?.......

Schaffel Case Closed

A dismissal order has been filed in the Schaffel vs. Jackson case on December 23, 2008.

One more case has gone.

2008. december 26.

Michael Jackson's Licensing Issues

Updates to my December 6th, 2008 post regarding Michael Jackson's licensing business issues:

- Jackson's original licence owner company "Triumph International Inc." (TI) has been suspended for sure both in California and Delaware. However in the very same year someone registered "Triumph International LLC" in Delaware. It's still unclear if the second company does belong to Jackson.

- It seems that "TI" is still the sole licence owner of Jackson's merchandising rights worldwide, however "TI" sold these rights in Europe to "MJ Licensing LLC" (MJL) until June 2012. Jackson most probably has a 75% stake in MJL.

- Jackson has established "MJ Marketing (Asia-Pacific) PTE LTD" (MJM) through "TI" back in 2002. The company is still active and handles Jackson's merchandising businesses in Asia ("MJ Japan", the Japanese clothing line, the new Thriller figures all does belong to "MJM").

- I have reported about another merchandising company of Jackson's called "Michael Jackson Mystery Holding Ltd". The Hong-Kong based company once responsible for the "Mystery" drink has been suspended this August.

- "MJ Company LLC" is still a mystery for many reasons. The company is still active in California, and was responsible for Jackson's touring plans after the "HIStory" era.

There is still a lot to do with Jackson's merchandising businesses. It seems that the star and his people has to negoiate with third parties to resolve these matters.

thank u Ms. Snoop

lol...interesting..'shake your body' is by the Jacksons..but i ain't mad at em for thinking it's by MJ alone..he has that star power,,lol

that reporter who referred to MJ as unstable, fresh off the storm we just weathered...i swear..let me get certified to be whatever MJ is, mentally, as opposed to whatever that reporter is, mentally. what is it like to spend your life hurling unsolicited verbal darts at someone for no reason? MJ could spend years out of sight, and the darts keep coming. have you ever known it to keep up, this long? i think these people hold the world record, for how long this ish keeps coming out of their mouths toward Michael.

Thanx for the news y'all...Good job Ms Snoop :cheeky:

They have no shame at all I mean they can't call him "Jackson" it's mostly "J.acko" or at times "W.acko J.acko" and in a time where you don't seem to need to be talented to be in hollywood you just have to look good or dress well (kardashians, paris hilton, The Hills cast) and you'll always get praised and maybe get yourself a reality show on E!
