Wasnt quite sure where to put this seeing that it covers 2 different
aspects about MJ.

Smokey was on The Tavis Smiley Show and one of the things he
talked about was Michael's rendition of his own song,
"WHO'S LOVING YOU", one of my favorites re-made by the J5.
Lol, he really does sing it better than Smokey! ^_^

Now Michael sang that song when he was 11, and when I first heard it,
I had to play it again. (Laughter) I said, "Wait a minute - this boy's 11.
-William 'Smokey' Robinson-

Gawl, I hope this isnt posted somewhere already.
Search came up with zilch.

J5 version is the best...actually never heard of Robinson's version.
Michael was too cute :)

how couldn't we fall in love with that talking part of the song:

Michael talking to audience

I'd like to talk to y'all tonight
About the blues
One of Michaels Brothers:The blues?
Yer the blues
Dont nobody have the blues like i have
I may be young but i know what its all about

And this is how it went down
I met a girl at school one day
Yer in the sandbox
Brothers:sandbox?!
We toasted our love during milk break
Brothers:aw man
I gave her my COOKIES!
Brothers:Come on Mike!
We fell out during singin' plan
So one day, I stepped up to her and i said.......

Thanks for the interview, it was really great - I really like Smokey!

BTW, he's done a cover of "I Want You Back" on his latest album, but it's absolutely horrible - I was so disappointed! :(
But the rest of the album is quite good!

Thank you so much for posting this! I love the interview with Berry Gordy. When I see Berry, Smokey and Gladys talk about Michael since his death, you can just see how much they loved him and what he meant to them. I can only imagine how Diana would be if she ever did an interview talking about Michael. Diana was the closest to Michael.

Man, I wish we could rip these Tavis interviews!!!

I looked on amazon and I didn't see "I Want You Back" on the tracklist on 'Time Flies When You're Having Fun'. Is it on this album?

Oh, no wonder you didn't find it:

On August 25, 2009 Robinson released "Time Flies When You're Having Fun." A self produced and written CD of mostly new material on his own RobSo label. The CD includes a cover of the Norah Jones hit 'Don't Know Why'. Special guests on the LP include India Arie, Carlos Santana, and Joss Stone. The Joss Stone duet "You're the one for me" was performed on American Idol. The CD also contains a homage to early Motown and Michael Jackson with the hidden bonus track "I Want You Back."

I'd like to hear that. Interesting choice.
Smokey's good and all but I wonder if he can do to IWYB
what MJ did for WLY. Lol!

Also, I love how Smokey refers to Michael as his little brother.
You can tell that he really cares for him.

Thanks for replying guys. I just thought that this would make for good viewing and reading.
