The music he did especially in his hay day was great. It is still on jam. :)

His album 'Don't Be Cruel' is FIRE!! He's on this season of Celebrity Fit Club..

I think he was at his best when he did the Don't Be Cruel album. I also like the song he did w/Baby Face Tender Lover. Two Can Play that Game was good too.

My dad who is deceased loved Bobby Brown, so he will always a special place in my heart despite his BS with Whitney. I love Don't be Cruel album. It brings back a lot of memories.

I love Two can play that game, We have something in common and the Beautiful duet he did with Damian Marley a few years back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBGYRtVqVSM. I also thought New Edition was cool as well, all of them tryin' to compare themselves to the J5 and all lol.

I saw the Behind the music episode dedicated to him about a couple of months ago and i was very happy to see him get his life on track. It may not have worked out for him and Whitney, but i think it's very easy to judge from the outside; as long as they are both doing great right now and their daughter, Bobby Christina, whom Whitney hosted so beautifully on My love is your love :) enjoys both of their company, i guess all is great.

It was soooo funny to see Bobby with that cowboy hat and stuff; wasn't it also in the docu a part about NE getting back together, at least partially? They showed them performing together. In any case, it's good to know he is in a good place in his life right now, all sober, with a child on the way/new born and with a new marriage. God bless them all - Bobby and his new family, Whitney and their daughter, Lord knows they deserve peace and happiness.

This song by After 7 reminds me of the song Bobby did for Ghost Busters 2,
which is another song of his that's one of my favorites:

Bobby Brown has been one of the most compelling American artists of the past thirty years, a magnetic and talented figure who successfully crossed over many musical genres, including R&B and hip hop, as well as the mainstream. In the late 1980s, the former front man of New Edition had a wildly successful solo career—especially with the launch of Don't Be Cruel—garnering multiple hits on the Billboard top ten list, as well as several Grammy, American Music, and Soul Train awards. But Brown put his career on hold to be with the woman he loved—American music royalty Whitney Houston. The marriage between Brown and Houston was perhaps the most closely watched and talked about marriage of the 1990s—a pairing that obsessed the public and the gossip industry. Now, for the first time, the world will be able to hear the truth from the mouth of America’s “bad boy” himself. Raw and powerful, Every Little Step is the story of a man who has been on the top of the mountain and in the depths of the valley and who is now finally ready to talk about his career and family life, from the passion and the excess to his creative inspirations and massive musical success.

On the process of writing this book, Bobby says, “Right after I signed on to write my story, I went through one of the most agonizing traumas I had ever experienced with the death of my daughter. But I was surprised by how therapeutic it was to work on this project, to look at the entire arc of my life and to realize that although there has been considerable pain, I have also been incredibly blessed. I hope my fans and other readers of this book will be entertained by this trip into the crazy, exciting, fascinating world of Bobby Brown. And I hope they will feel that I have been as honest and open with them in these pages as I have tried to be my entire life.”

Thanks for posting this Duran. Sounds interesting.
I'm glad he found some sort of therapeutic value through writing his story.
Even thru all his "stuff" I have always liked his music and I have a couple of his CD's as well as New Edition.
Hope I get to read or listen to the book when it hits in June. :)

:giggle:@his little picture. Cute.

It was a good interview. It kept my interest.

Access Hollywood has a 2 parter on Bobby on his time with Whitney and the affects of the deaths of his ex-wife and his daughter.

Wednesday June 15th at 6:30 P.M.

Its so sad to see what has happened to Bobby Brown over the years. Yes his tell-all book is full of crap. But once upon a time he was an amazing performer and I loved Don't Be Cruel and Bobby albums.

Well, that's cool. Didn't know Tom Joyner was doing that. Fun to see him still so active in the biz.

Tom's been presenting those cruise concerts for years. Sinbad (the comedian) used to have concerts featuring old R&B and funk acts too. I don't know if he still does them.

Bobby Brown

I didn't know Bobby was such a "David Ruffin" character in the group.
Well, there was a reason Bobby was out of the group. :D He was on the 3rd album and the Christmas album, but had already been let go before they were released. On TV shows and music videos, Ricky lip-synced Bobby's parts. Kinda similar to when the Jackson 5 were promoting the Moving Violation album, after Jermaine had quit the group and Marlon did Jermaine's parts.

BET has greenlit new projects that will tell the stories of Grammy winner Bobby Brown and legendary hip hop label Death Row Records in addition to two new “Lip Sync Battle” specials, the network announced Thursday at their upfront presentation in New York.

The Viacom-owned network is looking to capitalize on the success of “The New Edition Story,” the three-part miniseries which drew over 29 million total viewers and was the number one cable biopic of all time in the ratings. As such, “New Edition Story” writer Abdul Williams and executive producer Jesse Collins have signed on to “The Bobby Brown Story,” which will chart the singer’s career from the founding of New Edition to his success as a solo artist. It will air across two nights, with each part being two hours long. Collins will executive produce through JCE Films, a division of Jesse Collins Entertainment.

“Death Row Chronicles” will be a six-part documentary series, exploring the rise of the genre-defining record label. While it boasted the success of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and Dr. Dre, the chart-topping and record-breaking sales came at a bloody, controversial cost thanks in large part to co-founder and CEO Marion “Suge” Knight. The series will examine the myths and legends that have sprung up around Death Row, as well as celebrate the groundbreaking music it produced and how it influenced some of today’s biggest hip hop artists. Entertainment One (eOne) and Creature Films will produce.

From humble beginnings in Philadelphia, iconic 90s R&B supergroup Boyz II Men skyrocketed to stardom with their signature “Mowtownphilly” sound, topping the charts and defining a decade. Before graduating high school, the Boyz were signed by New Edition’s Michael Bivins, who molded their preppy public image and launched their career. From Platinum albums to Grammy Awards, the poor boys from Philly were suddenly rich young men with the world at their feet - but the brotherhood they exemplified was strained. “The Boyz II Men Story” is a rite of passage story, following the rise, fall - and struggle to rise again of the bestselling R&B group of all time. From personal rifts to hidden ailments to struggles with fading fame, this is the story of the group that everyone knew but never saw. The movie is executive produced by Debra Martin Chase.

Finally, “Lip Sync Battle” will produce two one-hour specials for BET tailored to the BET Hip Hop Awards and the Soul Train Awards. LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen, the hosts of the Spike series, will lead both specials, which will feature song choices tailored specifically for the awards shows as performed by celebrities. The specials come as Viacom, which also owns Spike, looks to leverage their most popular properties across their different networks under the leadership of new CEO Bob Bakish.
