Man, what is up with all the recent dead celebrities? Man, all the dead celebrities in one year is a real high toll and is way too much in just a year. 2009-2010. it's scary. it's alarming.

7.Simon Monjack, Brittany Murphy's Husband
8.Gary Coleman

Those are all the deaths I can remember that happened 2009-2010 right now.

Ed McMahon, Natasha Richardson, Lynn Redgrave and her brother, Ted Kennedy and his sister Eunice, J.D. Salinger, Walter Cronkite, Soupy Sales, David Carradine, DJ AM, etc etc etc...

I don't know that it's necessarily more celebrity deaths than usual. I think we're just more attuned to it now because of Michael.

It seemed that 2009 had an awful lot of celebrity deaths, a friend of mine commented at work that during the summer he ended up stopping watching the news as it just got too depressing. I guess I'd been lucky before in the fact that no one I had loved a lot had died. Unfortunately that all changed last year.

I wouldn't really call it a "surge" in celebrity deaths...like it's some sort of movement.

People die every day...2009 hadn't really differed from any other year...maybe like someone said, being more attuned to it because of Michael.

Sadly, we lose many high profiled people ever year...I don't think 2009 has been any different to other years. Just looks like more when you put a list together.

Yeah but I can't even say to ya'll on MJjC right now because right now 2009-2010 is been A very depressing year for the celebs like Birttany Murphy, Micheal Jackson, Gary Coleman, DJ AM, Ed Mcmon & so many more celebrites that I can' even name them right now.

I hate to be disrespectful, but that Is the truth, some were also of advance ages like in thier 80's and even 90's or that we knew were going to die due to illnesses and stuff. I think there are a couple I can name that were preventable including Michael's (I just wish that the doctor was smart enough or was not a greedy POS.)

That's how I feel too. Last week there were three deaths. I only remember Gary Coleman, and Dennis Hopper. Then there was someone else who I'm too young to be familiar with. My mother grew up knowing him. I can't even remember his first name. And now as someone already posted, Rue McClanahan.
