#TopicOfToday is #SongAppreciation. Today, we put the song "2000 Watts" in the spotlight. It is indeed a #LoveOrHateSong. So, are you ready to come with me on a quest to discover what the song is all about. Hidden inside #MJJCBlog I'll give you a 'pathway' to share your thoughts on this #IntriguingSong. #LetsGo.
"Bass note, treble, stereo control, how low you go... Just enough to make your juices flow... Press play, don’t stop, rotate, too hot... You feel I’m real... I’m everything you need, so tell me what’s the deal... 2000 Watts, 8 ohms, 200 volts, real strong... Too much of that, fuse blown... Be careful what you say don’t overload... 2000 Watts, 8 ohms, 200 volts, real strong... Too much of that, fuse blown... Be careful what you say don’t overload... "
This is the 'quite strong' 1st verse of "2000 Watts" yet another one of those 'groundbreaking' and 'innotative' songs that was let loose on the public back in 2001 with its 'daring' lyrics. Though the beauty of this song is the 'hidden' meaning behind it. MJ still holds on to his dignified reputation while he ventures in the 'adult material' stuff. The 'catch' behind it is that it's so 'wrapped' into some sort of lingo that only 'adult' brains will grasp its 'true' meaning while youngsters will focus more on the beat and rasp in MJ's voice.
I'm sure they will 'wonder' and maybe discover it all by themselves and then go 'WOW'. Yep, you always 'learn' something from MJ if you're willing to find it though. I simply think it's a 'perfect' song that is well 'nestled' in the album of "Invincible" as I previously chatted about how 'grown up' the whole album is somehow and '2000 Watts' however you hate or love it, belongs to that album.
I love the song even before the 'adult' material stuff 'snapped' into my brain as it has a different and quite 'entertaining' raspy voice of MJ that almost 'raps' through the whole song. Okay, I admit that I first simply thought it was about the Music you know with all these 'terms' used and then finally it 'snapped' in me and I thought it was so 'cool' to wrap it up so 'geniusly'. So indeed, it is a #LoveorHateSong but that is a 'calculated' risk you have to take as an artist if you wanna to make your mark in the Music Industry and that is something MJ really did.
Okay, now you can follow the 'pathway' here to discuss this #LoveOrHateSong:
"3D, high speed, feedback, Dolby... Release two or three, when I reach I can go ‘til I hit my peak... Compact steelo, chico, D-Lo, highpost lady... Shorty really wanna be there for me... "
