Attorneys for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death say they want to talk to nearly three dozen people described as hostile witnesses before an upcoming trial.

Attorney J. Michael Flanagan told a judge Wednesday subpoenas had been issued for 35 witnesses, including all the members of Jackson's security team who were at the rented mansion where the singer died in June 2009.

Houston-based cardiologist Dr. Conrad Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

The case reconvenes on March 16, when jury questionnaires will be discussed. Jury selection is scheduled to begin March 24, with opening statements scheduled for May 9.
 
what do they want to talk to the hostile witnesses for?

seems that all of their witnesses are going to be hostile except for Murray's patients if they are even allowed to testify. I hope they won't be considering his patients are totally irrelevant to what Murray did to Michael. The only way I can see his patients testifying is if he gave them propofol and sedatives at home and left them alone to pee or talk to his girlfriends. If that didn't happen then they don't need to be testifying
 
Wonder if any of those 'hostile witnesses' go by the last name 'Jackson' or are close friends of MJ? It just makes you think though, over a year and a half has passed and still they have'nt talked to all the people they need to, why ask for a speedy trial then?
 
why would they ask people not related to the events? Murray doesn't have anyone on his side. Murray has no witness's. He has no WITS.

wouldn't be surprised at all.. we called that already when Ms Janet and her siblings were talking crap knowing MJ was killed and knowing that his autopsy said he was fine and healthy. If they are called as hostile witnesses, that's what they get.
 
It is not a good idea to fill up your witness pool with too many hostile witnesses. The defense certainly need to get going on a more viable plan. The one they have now is not working too good, but what do we expect from Murray. He cannot provide the defense with information to prove his innocence, because he is guilty, so the defense is left scurrying around looking for any information that would confuse they jury.

yep... Murray has already lied to them probably so they don't know which way to go. I really do wish Mike's security team would've been there or at least had some idea of what the hell Murray was doing to MJ. If the security would've been there 911 could've been called right away.
 
Murray and his team are full of crap... Just a few weeks ago they wanted a speedy trial, so now they all of a sudden want to speak to 30 hostile witnesses? How can this be speedy if they hadn't even interviewed witnesses yet?

guys "hostile witness" can be used for someone testifying against you. such as for example if Alberto Alvarez is saying that Murray collected evidence then from Murray's perspective he'll be "hostile witness". Especially if the witness is not cooperating with them and answering to their interview requests.

but you are all right. they said they were ready but they haven't even got around to interview people.

I guess it was a way to create an impression that they were confident of success.

Of course. As the evidence is so overwhelming against Murray, all they can do is to use PR tricks and seemingly "strategic" moves like this.
 
I quickly went through the transcripts of march 2nd and march 9th, they are on teammichaeljackson.com

march 2nd

Chernoff met Walgren on march 1st, and went through the evidence, with a police officer.
Walgren gave Chernoff the photos (we don't know which photos)
the defense has another medical expert (a "medical examiner")

the defense has a financial expert, walgren talked to him, chernoff doesn't know yet if he will get this financial expert to testify.

The defense got the fingerprints, they are doing an analysis, there could be another expert about the fingerprints.


march 9

the defense gave the prosecution 2 medical reports, one from Dr White, another one from Dr Hasfratzi (he is presented by the defense as an addiction specialist, pharmacologist)

the defense has 2 other medical experts : there is a coroner from Galveston, and possibly an expert in canada, who can not give opinions because they need evidence from E Fleak, and she is not returning the defense calls. (that was actually funny : the judge suggested that maybe Ms Fleak is away from her office for some reason, so the defense should maybe try to call someone else at the coroner's office, Walgren offered to help make the call ! :D)

Walgren said he had not received reports about 80 witnesses, so he didn't know what they would talk about. Walgren said he knew about 9 character witnesses, 2 medical reports, leaving 80 witnesses he didn't know what they were about.

The defense answered that they donot intent to call them all , and that the prosecution already knows them : 50 are in the police report.
the defense subpeonaed Lindemoot and Fu (from the coroners office) and Mr Romo from the Santa Barbara sheriff dept
the defense said they subpeonaed 35 persons, most of them hostile.
they are trying to subpeona all the security people in the house on 25th.

they talked about the surveillance cameras, it was confusing :

Walgren is still investigating. Cameras were monitoring the exterior of the house, LAPD downoaded the clips where you see Michael and Murray arriving, nothing else. Walgren is still investigating to find out if there actually is anything else (the defense wants the whole night and morning).

At one point (I think march 2Nd, but I'm not sure), Chernoff said that one of the medical report , White's I think, took some time because some information in the prelim transcripts was not correct.

This is going to get ugly.

And, as in the 2005 trial, I am unclear as to why a financial expert may be needed.
 
mj was broke needed to do the shows caused him to be ill put pressure on him did whatever it took ti get through the shows. thats about it. or they will use it to show someone else came in the room and did it. cause they want the sony/atv etc
 
Thanks EW. I had not thought of that.

It just saddens me that people always need to rummage through Michael's pocket either to prosecute him or defend themselves against him.
 
I hope Michael's children won't be involved in this sickening trial. Like it wasn't enough they were robbed of their father, they're subpoenaing them now to submit them to more emotional abuse? ...... No way can that happen, how cowardly of these people if it does.

havnt seen any evidence they are.pros said they wont call them if they dont have to and there were others there such as alberto that can testify to the same thing

oh ok, thanks elusive, I didn't either.. just thought something changed and I missed it or something.
 
Totally irrelevant.. Why didn't Murray know his patient was under pressure and was getting ill.. None of this makes a difference because it proves Murray didn't care. If he saw MJ getting ill, pumping him with propofol was not the answer. Murray has no defense
 
i wonder if murray is classing these 35 as apart of his witness list number. or they are just subing them so they can try and see if they can get anything out of them that maybe of some use. after all if they have the pros witness statements from them then why sub them. are these 35 from ppl that they dont have witness statements for
