it starts at :43. I  that song!

Jem!! Ah, those were the days.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. Cartoons used to have heart and soul, positive and uplifting messages. That was all lost in the 90's and especially 2000's. I'm so glad I grew up in the 80's. :)

Let me take it straight to adult contemporary thang here.

The Colors of the Night - Lauren Christy
a theme song for the movie Color of Night
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2RB_zytp1M&feature=related

Back when I was in middle school, the song played quite often during the lunch breaks. I could never understand the lyrics, my English wasn't good enough just to make out words, let alone phrases or sentences. But I do remember I would stop and pay attention to the melody several times, among the noise of my classmates.
It was some years later that I came to learn the song is for the movie and saw portion of the lyrics.

(Fast forward to 2010...)
I went and found the song again.
Now I can understand the words and even appreciate the meaning behind them :D
I'm older now :)
