Throughout the year, the Facebook fan group Jackson Québec has been raising funds for OPERATION ENFANT SOLEIL, a non-profit organization that raises funds for the development of high quality paediatrics and to contribute to social health projects for all the children in Quebec, Canada. By supporting organizations, regional hospitals and the four major paediatric centers across Quebec, Opération Enfant Soleil improves the quality of life of children and their families.

Starting in June 2011, we, Jackson Québec group have raised 743,45$ via activities, spaghetti dinner and participating at the Montreal 2011 Thrill the World! OUR GOAL IS 1500$ so we still need 760$. Altogether I believe we can do this before the beginning of June 2012.

From APRIL 25TH to MAY 25TH, we ask you to donate money to OPÉRATION ENFANT SOLEIL through the direct link provided for online donation. The money goes directly to them, it's easy, fast and safe!

Hi again,

So, we never stop :) Our WALK FOR LUPUS ended and we started another project, and this one will be HUGE!!

Jackson Québec Facebook group (MJ Fans in the province of Quebec, Canada) will do AN ENTIRE YEAR of raising for an organism that helps kids called "Opération Enfant Soleil" (could be transletd as "Operation Sun Kids" or something like that!)

Opération Enfant Soleil has been helping sick kids in the province for 25 years now. It is the most important organism in the whole province and everybody here knows about this organisation. Every year on TV, they do a "telethon" that raises millions of $$ each year (2011's Telethon raised 17,221,000$!!!!)
The money goes to main kids hospitals in the province so they can buy kids size furniture, high tech machines to heal the kids and other material hospital desperatly needs to heal and cure sick kids.

So, for the first year and for the 25th Telethon that will take place on June 2012, Jackson Québec and all the fans will be doing activities and raising money to give to Opération Enfant Soleil.

We do have a signed contract with Opération Enfant Soleil for the whole year so it's all legit and all for L.O.V.E.!

We already started raising money! Promotionnal items from Opération Enfant Soleil are being sold, we recieved our first order on Tuesday and on Wednesday half of it was already sold, so I had to send a second order right away to get more promo items!!!

We also asked the fans who'll be there at our Drill routine performance and at the Worldcry on June 25th to bring their 0.01$ they'll have collected to the event, it may sound little, but you could be surprised at how much we can raise with just 0.01$ people keep!

We already have couple of other activities we're working on and they'll be publicised as soon has everything is well planned.

We think we could get around 1500$ for Opération Enfant Soleil from June 2011 to June 2012!

This will be a LOT of work, on a long term basis, a whole year of working hard for the group and the fans to raise as much as we can to help those kids and help Opération Enfant Soleil helping them!

Hi!

After 20 days, we are ready to send a first check of 200$ of what we've been able to raise until now.

The money comes from cash donation, Paypal donation, our 1st activity which was to bring our 0.01$ on June 25th and from promotionnal Opération Enfant Soleil items selling.

This 1st check will be sent to Opération Enfant Soleil this week, and we hope this will not be the last check we'll send them!!!

Even if most of you won't be able to attend the event, I'm telling you anyway ;)

Our 2nd activity will be a Spaghetti lunch/dinner on Octobre 2nd, right before the world premiere of The Cirque du soleil show Immortal World Tour in Montreal!

This event will take place in Montreal from 11ham to 15h00 and tickets will be sold for 10$ to attend. 8$ out of the 10 will be donated to Opération Enfant Soleil. The 2$ remaining will be given to a very generous friend who offered her house and her cooking skill for the event!

We hope to have as many people as the house can contain!

For those who can't attend (cause not all the world lives in Montreal right? ;) ) donations can always be made through Paypal at jacksonquebec@hotmail.com

Our 1st check of 200$ did arrive at the charity!
 
We have 8 people for our spaghetti diner for the moment!
We hope to get more, the more people we have, the more money we can give to the kids in need!!

Hi again! Couple of updates on the Project!

So, because of a scheduling problem we had to cancel the spaghetti dinner (it was taking place during the Immortal weekend in Montreal and we had just wayyyy toooo much activities already!

BUT!

We associated with Thrill The World Montréal (organised by my friends ;) and we danced at La Ronde, which is a very popular amusement park in Montreal, and since they especially open during October for Halloween, it was already decorated, employees disguised as zombies and all... and we asked the people coming to the park for donation...

We raised 440$ :D

For those of you who speak french and like to cook, we have a new way of raising funds!
Opération Enfant Soleil (the charity we are raising for) just published a gorgeous book of recipes commented by actors and artists from here sharing their memories of good food and some of their favorite recipes. For every book sold (at the price of 29.95$ CDN, 15$ is given to Opération Enfant Soleil!!

Just to keep people updated, last weekend we had a spaghetti dinner and for this activity, we raised a total amount of 130$!

So with the other money sent before, and the money to be sent with the remaining promo items sales, we're at a total of 743.45$ raised for Opération Enfant Soleil foundation!

This was most probably the last activity for the fundraising that started in June 2011!

I thank every single one of those who participated, in person or by making a donation via Paypal.

The Telethon Operation Enfant Soleil was held this weekend in Quebec city! They raised a total of 18 267 912 $ !!!!

As for us, we will soon have the final amount raised but we got a little more than 1000$ GREAT! :D
