HISTORICAL DATES


1970 - I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 enters the UK singles chart where it will peak at No 2. It was No 1 in the Billboard US Top 40 singles chart and went to number one on Billboard's Black singles chart. And this was only the beginning.

1976 - Michael Jackson attends the American Music Awards with Katherine, Janet, Randy & LaToya. He accepts the award for Best Soul Group on behalf of Gladys Knight & The Pips. and presents, together with David Soul, the award for "Favorite Soul Female" to Aretha Franklin.

1977 - Michael Jackson attends the American Music Awards at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, CA. Michael and Lola Falona present "Favorite Pop Group" Award to Chicago and the Jacksons perform Good Times.

1983 - Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA.

1988 - Michael Jackson continues rehearsals for the BAD World Tour's second leg at the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, Florida.

1993 - Michael performs a medley of Jam, Billie Jean, Black Or White and Heal The World at the Superbowl Halftime Show in the Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena Ca before an audience of 100,000 in the stadium and 133.4 millions on TV. Michael addressed the crowd: "Today we stand together all around the world joined in a common purpose, to remake the planet into a planet of joy and understanding and goodness. No one should have to suffer, especially the children. This time we must succeed. This is for the children of the world."

2004 - Santa Barbara's County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant of Marc Schaffel's home in relation to their Michael Jackson case. Computers, business files and contracts were seized.

2005 - In Santa Barbara, CA, Michael Jackson's trial began.

2006 -"Maximum Michael Jackson: Innocent" was released. The audio CD recounted details of the events that led up to the Jackson trial and the case itself.

2010 - Michael Jackson is honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd Grammy Awards, held at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.

Michael's Super Bowl spectacle gives me goosebumps every time:bow:
I loved the way he made the audience in the stadium to participate by making them to put up coloured papers to form images of children.

I love the Superbowl Halftime show performance! I can't believe that was 20 years ago exactly today! One of my favorites, Michael during the Dangerous era.

It was also the last Superbowl held at The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA.

3. The dancers.

5. The hat flip.


6. The moonwalk


7. His guitarist's hair.

10. The inflatable globe that sprang up in the middle of "Heal The World" that would have ended the Cold War if it hadn't already ended.
