HISTORICAL DATES
1979 - The Jacksons perform first of two nights of their Destiny World Tour in Geneva, Switzerland.
1980 - Michael Jackson's single "Rock With You" was certified Gold by the RIAA.*
1985 - Michael Jackson helps with the delivery of Valentino, a baby deer born Valentines day to his pet deer, Prince and Princess at Hayvenhurst in Encino. The event is said to be video taped.
1989 - Michael’s publicist Lee Solters announces Michael and his manager Frank Dileo, will part company. No reason was given causing the media to speculate. Dileo managed Michael's career from March 20, 1984. He was the executive producer for the full-length movie Moonwalker, wrote and executive produced three Pepsi-Cola commercials, and eight music videos including the Grammy winning video "Leave Me Alone". DiLeo managed Jackson family's Victory Tour and Jackson's Bad World Tourr. Jackson and DiLeo would partner up again in 2009 for Jackson's This Is It.
1989 - Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Rock With You," and "Beat It" were certified Platinum and "Off The Wall" and "She's Out Of My Life" were certified Gold by the RIAA.
1994 - Michael Jackson testifies in a Denver Court against accusations from Crystal Cartier that the title track of his 1991 album "Dangerous" ripped off her 1988 tune of the same name. Michael wins the case
2001 - Michael Jackson made an appearance at New York's Carnegie Hall to launch the Heal the Kids Foundation, whose purpose is "promoting nurturing relationships between parents and children and fostering programs that help all children gain the love, attention and quality time they deserve." He co-founded the organization with Heal the Kids' President Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Michael welcomed the participants and the audience with the following words: "I would like to welcome you to Carnegie Hall, the world's most famous concert hall to hear an entirely different kind of music, a loftier melody. It's a more eternal song." He is scheduled to speak On March 6th, at Oxford University's famed Oxford Union Society debating hall on "child welfare" and to further explain the Foundation's goals.
2005 Trial: Michael goes to court where Jury selection resumes after a break due to Mesereau's sister death.
