HISTORICAL DATES



1974 - Dancing Machine by The Jackson 5 enters Billboard Black Music Singles Charts

1983 - On Skid Row, east of Hollywood, Michael begins filming a short film for 'Beat It' in which he unites two rival gangs through song and dance. The video is directed by Bob Giraldi and choreographed by Michael Peters, who also appears in the video alongside 25 dancers and 50 actual Los Angeles gang members to give the video an authentic look. The cost of the video is estimated at $150,000.

1993 -Michael wins 3 Soul Train Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for Best R&B Soul Singer, Male ('Remember the Time') and Best R&B/Soul Album, Male ('Dangerous'). He is also presented with the Humanitarian Of The Year award by Eddie Murphy. A short film tribute to Michael, narrated by Eddie Murphy, outlined a few of Michael's countless efforts to help children and make the world a better place. Michael, who twisted his ankle rehearsing for the show the night before, performs 'Remember The Time' seated in an elaborate gold chair and surrounded by dancers.

2001 - Michael Jackson departs from London where he gave his Oxford Union Speech on March 6th. Rather then fly back to Los Angeles right away, He has decided to spend some time in Europe

2004 - Michael Jackson The One is released on DVD. It is a release of a CBS special that aired in January 2004. Released by Epic Records, it includes interviews with other celebrities about Jackson's influence on music and pop culture, and also contains clips from Jackson's previous music videos and concerts. It was certified Gold in the US five months after release, with shipments amassing 50,000 units by that point. The certification body of the US—the RIAA—recognizes the DVD as an official Michael Jackson production. It was also released on Video CD format, in several Asian countries such as India and Thailand.

2007 - Following his VIP Party on the night before, 1,000 fans crowd into a Tokyo nightclub to spend time with Michael at a 5 hour Fan Appreciation Party. Michael has inviting fans to attend a “Fan Appreciation Day” event in Tokyo. They watch a gospel choir and impersonators perform while Michael watches the show from a VIP room upstairs. There is also a fan art contest where Michael picks the winners who will get to dine with him in private. Michael was very relaxed, happy and interacted with the fans with singing hugging and even kisses.

Oh the fan day has really a warm feeling to it. I like the way he enters the stage turning around, & that girl in the red & white kept saying Michael. I loved what the major said about him spending time with them, when he could have been making money. It seems she got what Michael is all about.

I really like how Michael performed Remember the Time sitting in the chair. He made it interesting and fun. I really like this song and wished he did it on tour.

Michael looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL in 2007...it's hard to believe that just 2 short years later he would be gone. If the rest of the world only understand the pain we fans carry around in our hearts. . Michael was truly a remarkable man

That DVD The One is really great. The CBS special was supposed to air in 03 but due to the allegations and arrest, it was postponed til after Michael did the Ed Bradley interview, and shown in 94. It was also supposed to have the video of One More Chance, but since that was never finished due to the search by 70 thugs, only the song played. The One has a lot of wonderful comments by other musicians and critics.
