Exclusive interview with Paris Jackson on growing up with Michael in first issue of @eventukmag tomorrow!

'He was an incredible father... He wanted us to have what he didn't, which was a normal childhood': Paris Jackson on growing up with the King of Pop
By CAROLINE GRAHAM
PUBLISHED: 22:00, 13 April 2013 | UPDATED: 22:00, 13 April 2013

He was the most iconic pop star of the late 20th century. Now Michael Jackson’s daughter, who was just 11 when he died, gives an unprecedented insight into her extraordinary life

'He wanted the best for us,' said Paris Jackson of her famous father, Michael Jackson
Paris Jackson wants to see part of her father’s billion dollar legacy used to restore his Neverland estate for sick children to enjoy, she has revealed.
The schoolgirl has spoken of the happy times she shared at the ranch with her father who died when she was just 11.
She made an emotional pilgrimage to her childhood home two years ago and was dismayed to see its famous Ferris wheel had been removed.
‘I cried and cried,’ said Paris. ‘It’s beautiful there. It still has good energy.'
She said it should be restored for the benefit of less privileged children.
Paris said she plans to start the project as soon as she is an adult herself.
Her declaration will stun the superstar’s millions of fans around the world who have seen Jackson’s dreams for a place of eternal childhood fall into decay.
Paris, now 15, also plans to pay tribute to her father by having the words of a loving note he wrote her tattooed on her wrist when she is old enough.
And until recently she kept a ‘shrine’ to him on the wall of her bedroom in the sprawling home where she now lives with her brothers Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, in the hills above Los Angeles.

Her ambition is to be a heart surgeon. 'I want to help people, that's its,' Paris said (pictured for Event magazine in the living room of the Jackson family home in Los Angeles)
The youngsters are cared for by the Jackson family matriarch Katherine, 82.
‘I have lots of memories of my father,’ says Paris.
'He was an incredible father. We all loved him to death.

Paris has inherited her father's passion for music and revealed that he used to give her dance lessons
'He’d try to educate us as much as he could and was always looking out for us. He was very protective.’
She explained why Jackson made his children wear masks when they were out in public.
‘He didn’t want anyone to see what we looked like.
'That way we could have what he didn’t, which was a normal childhood,’ she said.
She spoke movingly of her father’s attempts to give his family an ordinary childhood even when he was on tour.
This included turning hotel bedrooms into home cinemas with a portable projector and a bed sheet
The adoring anecdotes cast new light on the singer’s complex private life and underline the depth of his devotion to Prince and Paris, who were born to his ex wife Debbie Rowe, and Blanket who was by a surrogate mother.
The teenager is funded by the Michael Jackson Family Trust which pays out on landmark birthdays and settles family expenses.
It also pays for 15 full-time staff, including bodyguards, a personal chef, two nannies, maids, maintenance men and gardeners at the $26,000-a-month home. Neighbours in the heavily protected, paparazzi proof complex include Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.
Despite her wealth and family name, Paris has started attending an ordinary school, she says: ‘I want to have a normal high-school experience.'

She has been a cheerleader and played women’s football, and has also dabbled in photography.
She has inherited her father’s passion for music and revealed that he used to give her dance lessons. But she has no plans to follow him into show business.
Her ambition is to be a heart surgeon.
'I want to help people, that’s its,' she said.
Paris spoke to Event as the Jackson family prepares to bring a staggering $40 billion wrongful death civil lawsuit against AEG, the promoter of the Thriller star's ill-fated ‘This Is It’ concerts in London’s O2 arena.
In court documents Katherine Jackson accuses AEG of ‘putting its desire for massive profits from the tour over the health and safety of Michael Jackson’.
She and her elder brother are expected to take the stand to reveal further details of their father's private life when the case comes to court.

I saw on facebook another picture of the magazine:

Well, the children exposed.... I wonder what Michael would think about it.... :( *big sigh*

Someone knows this magazine Event? I've never heard.

That's how people should talk about Michael. I wish though she was a little older doing interviews. I am sure Neverland looks sad to her. If this is true about being a heart surgeon then she can change her mind what she wants to be. She is only 15.

Ohhhh good God. Now I know what this is about. A few days ago I think the photographer posted a pic of her and said that it was great working with her. So this is what it turned out to be ha. I like her jacket, looks like balmain:happy:

I have to admit that I hope someday when they get older they can bring Neverland back to life. It was their home but also a place that was beautiful from pictures we have seen. It was suppose to be a happy and positive place and it was turned into something ugly that broke Michael's heart. I know Michael didn't want to live there anymore but he never completely let it go either.

Wondering when the exploitation of this poor kid will stop.

I don't like this and I don't care if the interview is nice about Michael. Now MJ's children are giving interviews to the very tabloids who did nothing but trashed and exploited Michael all his life? Now the Daily Mail? Next is the Sun and the National Enquirer?

How much got the Jacksons paid for it? (We know that tabloids tend to pay big bucks for stories...) And to be honest fans are just feeding it when they buy these papers and celebrate such interviews.

Paris is just a kid. She has no name of her own, she is only famous for being MJ's daughter. Nothing to see there, sorry. She's being exploited, even if she enjoys the attention. But that's what adults in her life would be for - to properly guide her. But instead they just keep exploiting her hunger for attention. So sad. Michael would be shocked to see her daughter giving an interview to such a trashy tabloid.

Such a close up of her face...WOW! o_O But, beautiful girl! It was a nice interview, I hope she can make Neverland for the children! It's always great to read that MJ was a great dad and for the public to know that with all the B.S being said still about him and kids SMH.

Although these random interviews are just...confusing? But, good for her she wants to be a surgeon now? Hmmm....really?! Well that's 100 times better then Hollywood, that's for sure! We see if in the future if it actually happens though, she likes the spotlight and attention so it's hard to believe.

What happened that dream of becoming an actress!? It seems odd, she loves the cameras and the attention....

She is only 15, and don't all teenagers love attention?
I remember, at that age I wanted to be cruise director (after watching love boat:)), ballet dancer, singer, veterinarian and many more. I can tell you, I'm none of above, but teenagers minds changes daily. In given time, Paris will find out what she wants to do.

Btw, love the jacket she is wearing in one of the photos:clapping:

Seeing as every newspaper has written negative stories about do we call them all tabloids? Strictly speaking the Daily Mail is not a tabloid IMO.

It's tabloid and part of the Murdoch tabloid empire.

It IS a tabloid. ( http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Daily_Mail But it's clear anyway when you read it.) If it is not a tabloid, then I don't know what is. One of the nastiest ones at that. One that has always been particularly cruel to Michael. One that had people like Ian Halperin write for them claiming that MJ was gay or that he had Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency and he was in need of a lung transplant, couldn't talk or walk etc (all BS). (I'm not totally sure but I also think they were the ones who quoted extracts from Victor Gutierrez's book just days after Michael's death and acted as if that was fact.)

Yes, it's a sad thing that even so called serious newspapers turn tabloidish when it comes to Michael (and I have often seen so called serious newspapers quote tabloids about Michael - which makes them just as tabloidish), but it doesn't change the fact that the Daily Mail IS a tabloid and a particularly nasty one.

I just don't like this tendency of fans suddenly giving a pass to nasty tabloids, just because they are hungry for gossip about Michael's kid. Sorry to be so blunt, but that's how I see it. I don't think Paris needs to be in any newspaper at this time of her life, giving interviews, making photoshoots. Not even in a serious newspaper, but definitely not in a nasty tabloid that hurt her father so much.

I think these days we are going to have to give our tabloids different grades because I wouldn't class the mail in the same category as the national enquirer for example.

I won't say anymore for fear my sarcasm will offend.

It doesn't matter how you personally rate the Daily Mail. It's officially considered a tabloid. It has the tabloid format too, so they do not consider themselves anything else either. And the Daily Mail has always been VERY nasty towards Michael. That's the bottom line.

To be blunt it's hard these days to find a newspaper that hasn't written nasty stories about Michael. I don't like any stories or articles about the children but I posted the preview for everyone else on here who enjoy reading these things, saves the clicks on the site. I was just taken a back that the reaction was 'oh it's just a tabloid piece' or words to that effect when I see people jumping up and down with joy over a TMZ rumour.

I consider people jumping up and down over a TMZ rumour sad as well.

Whatever happened to Michael's message in Tabloid Junkie?

For me the real nasty ones are the sun and in particular the mirror. I think the term tabloid has evolved over the years, it used to just mean the quality and size of paper. But anyway, it is what it is and at least this headline speaks highly of Michael.

I tend to agree with last tear, the daily mail in the uk is considered a midmarket tabloid, and is seen as less ridiculously sensationalist than the sun/star/mirror. If we're going for the worst tab stories for mj, it's the sun/notw and the mirror handsdown. And actually i find the uk broadsheets as snide and negative towards mj as some of the tabs.

This article looks like it's been set up by latoya. I posted an article in the aeg section for bubs about thome a day or 2 ago about latoya's big reveal just after mj's memorial about mj being murdered. It was by caroline graham who also did this piece, she told larry king that she and latoya had a relationship.

The interview is clearly designed to highlight the upcoming aeg trial - all paris's interviews are used to promote something or other, they're never random - eg heal the world, lundon bridge etc. The article is portraying all the plaintiffs in this lawsuit in an extremely rosy tinted light - a loving family unit, probably to counteract the wildfire of madness last year which seems to have been only hinted at.

@ashtanga This magazine, event, is a new venture for the mailosunday and was heavily advertised on the net and tv this last week.

So far I have only read the preview I posted last night, no surprise if this is designed as a prelude to the trial, there had to be some benefit to the Jacksons to allow Paris to do this article.

I remember articles that the Daily Mail wrote about Michael and they were anything but nice and true. Just because there are worse that doesn't make them any good. The article is nice to Paris (and MJ), because now tabloids are in the process of building Paris up. Wait until they decide time has come to tear her down. You will see their true nature then... Paris just should not be allowed in this situation and she should not be in any newspaper at this time of her life, IMO.

I agree with you on Paris, I have thought and said the same thing, but when that does happen the fans have to take responsibility as well, she is placed on such a high pedestal by the fans for just being Michaels daughter, the fans are the ones making the demand for everything PP&B. I've said this and more over and over.
