Michael absolutely adored the High School Musical trilogy. He even went to see the concert with his children and met Corbin Bleu and Drew Seeley backstage.

Mike also adored Charlie Chaplin, who wouldn't? He was a freaking genius!

If you haven't seen any of his movies, I strongly suggest you to watch:

The Kid
The Circus
The Gold Rush
City Lights
Modern Times (he composed Smile for that one)
The Great Dictator
Limelights
Monsieur Verdoux

I'm pretty sure Michael loved all those, plus The Tramp's short films.

Other actors/actresses.

Shirley Temple, I haven't watched any of her movies but I guess many of you are aware how much he loved her.
Katherine Hepburn, they were friends, he really admired her. I've just seen 2 of her movies, Suddenly Last Summer (with Liz Taylor) and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner with Spencer Tracy. I loved those.
Gregory Peck who was also friends with, I've seen Cape Fear, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Omen (I guess Mikey couldn't watch that one, it's a horror movie.)

Since he bought its Oscar for best picture, watch Gone With The Wind. One of the best classical love stories IMHO, it's not cliché, you love to hate Scarlett O'Hara. It's worth the 3 hours you spend, trust me.

Pretty sure he liked Titanic. He invited Leonardo DiCaprio to some party at Neverland in 1998:

Well, according to Frank Cascio's book, he loved "Enter The Dragon". I believe him because, it's vague in my mind, but i remember reading a magazine article which said that Michael had bought Bruce Lee dvds. This was a long time ago, maybe a decade, i can't remember what magazine it was. :)

maybe I'm overlooking but did no one say Charlie Chaplin yet?

Of course Michael was just an overall fan of classic old movies!

Also I don't think mentioned two movies that influenced Michael so so much..
Staying Alive, West Side Story

I saw Fred Astaire have just been mentioned, but there was another great dancer, Gene Kelly.
Michael cant have missed Singing in the rain

He also apparently liked the transformers franchise.

He did. Apparently one of his associates came to his house and he was watching the third one with his children. It's kind of adorable when you think about it :)
awww this is so sweet. thanks so much for the info.

He loved the three stooges. And Jurassic Park.

oh cant forget about the harry potter movies. I wonder which harry potter movie was his favorite. unfortunately he was only able to see up to order of the phoenix.

I heard he got a special viewing of The Dark Knight when it first came out. Some say He enjoyed Arnold Schwarzenegger films

A favourite superhero was Morph from the X-Men. He took a tour through the Marvel Studios with Stan lee in the early 2000s

^^^Oh, yes Michael was a comic geek! :giggle: From DC Comics, he loved Batman and Superman. I bet he enjoyed Tim Burton Christopher Nolan Batman movies and Christopher Reeve's Superman ones.

If you're interested, the best Batman animated movie, according to the critical acclaim and it's kick ass indeed, Batman: The Mask of The Phantasm. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker.)

Talking about Tim Burton, since Michael bought the Edward's Scissorhands, I assume he liked or loved the movie. I wonder if he loved Nightmare Before Christmas.

Maculay's movies, I'm pretty sure.

^Tim Burton Yes I can see Michael enjoying the Nightmere before Christmas ...Did he like Charlie and the Chocolate factory ?

yes, I almost forgot about mac's movies.

I remember Michael saying on several occasions, even in the Jackson 5 days, that he loved James Bond movies. Michael was given a DVD of Casino Royale to watch in his room on the day of the premiere. I really got a kick out of that because the James Bond series is one of my favorites.
