Celine Dion's Reign Over Vegas Comes To A Close

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 14, 2007) – Celine’s heart may go on, but her show is about to come to a stop.
The sun is about to set on Celine’s record-breaking “A New Day” concert in Las Vegas. The songstress has belted out the hits (along with a few chest poundings) for five years to sold-out audiences.
Celine took some time out from her show to talk to Access about her groundbreaking spectacle coming to a close.
As it turns out, she thinks “A New Day” is coming to an end at just the right moment.

“I think it is time. Because we have done this show for five years and I think we have done pretty much everything with that show possible. But what is going to be hard is to say goodbye to the family that we became,” said Celine.
She has worked with some of her current musicians for the Vegas show for almost 15 years. She plans to bring them on her up-coming world tour.
Celine reflected on just how much has happened in the five-year span of her Vegas show, saying, “Between all those songs and shows there was a life. We have lost people along this journey and we’ve given birth to some children as well.”
Whereas some performers would turn their nose at the thought of a five-year run in one venue, Celine welcomed the stability of staying put in the Nevada desert oasis.
“I had this stability, this comfort zone, every single night. Not only as a mommy, as well as a performer, to feel and to know that my cast, that the dancers and the musicians were there to support all of us,” Celine told Access.
Celine’s last Vegas show will be December 15, 2007.
But fear not, Celine can live on forever on your DVD player. To commemorate the historic event, Celine will release an astounding five-hour double-DVD, ” Celine Dion - A New Day: Live In Las Vegas.”
And if that wasn’t enough Celine for you, she will launch a year-long, five-continent, “Taking Chances World Tour” on February 14, 2008 in South Africa. The tour is scheduled to end on January 30, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale.

I saw her show in Vegas. It was the best performance I've ever seen live, hands down. The woman has an other worldly voice. I've also got tickets to her upcoming tour, so I can't wait. Her new album is amazing, I recommend it to anyone who admires great vocalists and I've also got her new DVD of the Vegas show. They're showing it in theatres for one day some time soon I believe. I recommend that as well to anyone. Celine rocks my socks, you go girl!

I asked Santa for her CD & DVD too! :D Wish I could've seen her Live!

Did anybody know that in her book: "Celine Dion For Keeps" a page in the "A New Day section shows a picture of a board or wall that all kinds of celebrities signed after they saw her show!! INCLUDING MICHAEL!!! He wrote "You're a Goddess, Love Michael Jackson"!!

In fact, didn't Michael & Celine take a picture together at her show? If anyone has the pic, can someone please post it?

I agree with him too, I know she must've been happy after reading that! I would be screaming at the top of my lungs if I was her!
