Zac Efron: Most Wanted Celebrity of 2007

A recent poll has named High School Musical actor and singer Zac Efron as the “most wanted” celebrity of 2007.
The 20-year-old beat ‘Thriller’ star Michael Jackson to top spot in the ‘Contact Any Celebrity’ poll in West Hollywood.
Efron will be America’s most powerful celebrity according to the poll, attracting the most autographs and being worth the most in merchandise. So, it seems that some of the big companies might be signing the star next year.
“Even with his less-than-stellar image, Michael Jackson is number 2 and would probably be number 1 if it weren’t for Zac Efron’s immense popularity this year with his roles in High School Musical, High School Musical 2 and Hairspray,” Contact Any Celebrity’s founder and president Jordan McAuley said. “Interestingly, the public wants to get in touch with Michael Jackson more than any other star except Zac Efron which is probably temporary…we’ll have to wait and see.”
This is a minor award in Efron’s collection, but this ultimately proves his place in America’s heart, and his celebrity status has shone since his early High School Musical days. The innocence of the young star has mirrored onto others.

The room's rust-colored walls are decorated with album covers such as Wham!'s Make It Big and Michael Jackson's Thriller. A figure of Queen singer Freddie Mercury, a favorite of Whitlam's, tops a set of shelves. ''I said, 'Wow, that can go right down in your studio,' '' Christina Whitlam recalled with a laugh.

JMU's Dancing Machine

Ask C.J. Sapong about dancing and he relaxes and rolls his shoulders.

"I do what I can," he said, smiling and leaning against the cinderblock wall in the cellar-looking bottom floor of James Madison's Godwin Hall.

Sapong, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound son of Ghanaian immigrants, is a freshman on the JMU men's soccer team. This fall, he channeled his inner boogie - inspired by Michael Jackson's "Thriller" period - to win a "dance-off" at the annual athlete social in the Festival Ballroom.

Salinas' Serengeti: Wild Things part B&B, part home to box-office beasts

Just about every animal at Wild Things has a movie, TV commercial or magazine spread on his resume. The undisputed star is Josef, a 26-year-old African lion with a huge, luxurious black mane. The model used by Disney animators for the Lion King film, Josef is also the Dreyfus lion and has appeared in a couple of Michael Jackson videos, the "Tarzan" and "Born Free" television series, the "George of the Jungle" film, "The Postman" and "Naked Gun 3," among others. In the animal world's version of coals-to-Newcastle, he was once flown to Africa to shoot a Lowenbrau commercial. Unlike the local beasts, Josef could be counted upon not to eat his co-star.
