there have been quite a few tribute albums but how many do you care about? and have you heard a tribute song that you actually like?

I like the Curtis Mayfield one that was released around 1992 or '93. It has BB King, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Whitney Houston, Tevin Campbell, Bruce Springsteen, Gladys Knight, Eric Clapton, Elton John with Sounds Of Blackness, Lenny Kravitz, and others. Curtis himself even sang on one of the tracks.

I liked the one that was released for Princess Diana had most of the big names on there can't think at the moment.

i haven't come across many tribute albums but Herbie Hancock knows how to celebrate the greats.

both of his successful tribute albums are a couple of my favourites: A Tribute To Miles and River: The Joni Letters.

also Marvin Gaye's tribute album to Nat "King" Cole.
