pronounced as (Michelle-lay) lol and all this time I thought it was just simply Michelle. The hits she brought out in late 80s early 90s such as:

Nicety
No more Lies
Something in my heart


those 3 where particularly my favorites:p for awhile I use to think that Paula Abdul song "nicety and no more lies" they sound more up her alley.

oh btw that tiny voice she speaks in in between songs (no more lies and nicety) is her real speaking voice, surprisingly is'nt it.

Her and her Dre datin ass. Lord, did ya catch her on the BET awards in like, 91 or 92. MESS.....loved no more lies though.

oh i think Paula Abdul's songs are not as good as those. that Michel 'e can sing like a mo fo..but...i don't think i wanna be goin out with Betty Boop.

i really love that song by Shriley Murdoch....go on without you :)
 
Never heard of her. :unsure: But then again, I was a preteen in the early 90s. :lol:
 
I liked her, although at the time I mostly stopped listening to R&B, lol. New Jack Swing was popular at the time and I didn't like it really as a genre. There were some New Jack songs that I liked, but in general I couldn't dig it. But she got pop station play though. She made a comeback album a few years ago, but I didn't hear anything from it.
 
her bybrid style of R&B with Dre from the Hip-Hop world was a pre cursor to what Mary J. Bliege gets credit for creating and doing. I dug "If" and I still have her debut album. she ended up marrying Suge Knight and was rocking the death row chain 10 years back. i think they done split up now but that was a trip 10 years back.
 
I always found the difference between her singing and talking voices way out. It was if Barry White's speaking voice was like Mickey Mouse's. :p
 
^^^ We always thought she was faking it. i remember she did an interview on BET with Shari? (was that her name) and she was telling her 6to stop having that fake voice. I think Michel'le ws offended. She gave this look like she was ready to fight. LOL
 
I don't think it was fake. If she was going to use a fake voice, why would she choose to sound like a chipmunk on helium?
 
I don't think it was fake either. But when she first came out and was on TV, to hear her speak for the first time you would think it was fake. That is why the interviewer gave her such a hard time. But she set her straight. that's the end of that story.
