I couldn't find any information on this posted anywhere on the forum, but if it's there and I've missed it, then just close this thread.

In Norwegian media, there is news today about Michael meeting up with Stargate ( Norwegian producers, having previously written songs for Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Beyonce, Nas and several more). There are several articles about the meeting, however they are all in Norwegian.

All the articles states pretty much the same. Michael had lunch with the two producers, they have given him songs, but no recordings have been made yet. The songs are said to be very melodic, with Michael's vocals being the central element. Michael was - according to the guys - very talkative, and they were both amazed to finally meet him. "We had a nice lunch with Michael for a while back, where we spoke about music and songs for the new album", Tor Erik Hermansen said to the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen.

Do the articles state where the meeting took place?

These guys have done songs such as 'Dont Stop The Music', 'Irreplaceable', 'Beautiful Liar', and done a few songs for Ne-Yo, they make a lot of hits.

If true then some good news that he's still working hard :D

If he's still looking for songs and producers to work with it's going to be a little while yet hun, at least he's actually working on putting togther an album :)

well one of the producers did say it was "a while back", so i don't think this is recent.

I couldn't find a date (or place) but it say a while back, last year, and after the meeting they sent several songs to Michael but haven't heard anything yet. The article also claims the goal for Michael is to release a new album this year.

a couple of months maybe, I can't imagine it being any longer.
well we don't know - remember Ne-Yo submitted stuff to MJ more than a year ago now and he still talks about having 'submit new songs' but no recordings or studio work done.

probably all around the same time when Mike was fielding for musical directions. i hope he's found it and well on his way by now, which could mean he probably shrugged off the likes of Ne-Yo and Stargate. but anything's possible..

just what i was wishing for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure their style would suit mikes way of singing!!!

I remember this from around last year also. I think it was the earlier part of last year though. I like some of their work so it would be cool to see if any of it will be used. If it's going to be melodic with MJ's voice as the central piece I'm all for it. Bring that baby on! hehe

Thanks for posting. :flowers:

Ain't Ne-Yo and Stargate like partners in production/composition anyways?

Stargate got their breakthrough in the US with "So Sick", a collaboration with Ne-Yo, which happened to be was his first #1 as well. They have later continued to collaborate with Ne-Yo on every studio album he has released so far. Despite of that they are not partners in that way. Stargate continues to write hits for a large number of other artists as well, like Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher, Chris Brown and Mariah Carey. And, hopefully, our own Michael. ;)

Yay! Finally actual news about something music related. I'm getting tired of hearing about him in bookstores and on the toilet spewing out singing turds. Thanks dude.

Nah, nah I'm sure Ne-Yo and Stargate collaborated on other projects together. They did co-write Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" and Jennifer Hudson's "Spotlight", I'm sure of it, lol. Maybe they have done outside work without Shaffer (Ne-Yo) but I know they did work together on other projects.

Yeah, that's true. ;) What I was saying is that both Ne-Yo and Stargate are still operating individually and are not part of a team or a group together. Stargate does most of their work without Ne-Yo, but obviously they have collaborated with him on other artist's projects as well. ;)

We had a nice lunch with Michael for a while back,
wonder how long ago this actually was. we seem to hear alot about mj talking/working with every tom dick and harry but never anything futher. i hope those fans were correct when they said mj told them he was in the stages of picking the tracks because this has gone on forever and a day and working with god knows how many other pl hardly helps with the flow of an album.especially when its a ppl who are here today and gone tomorrow. it would be sad if mjs juices have dried up that much when its his songs that he creates himself that give him the success and the mj sound. not songs that sound the same as every other artists out there.
