I hate that! :(

Insomnia? I guess...I dunno.

This has been going on for some time now and it really s.ucks.

I've tried exercise, reading, watching T.V. and simply just lying there
but I still can't sleep. Counting sheep doesnt help either, lol!
I dont have trouble falling asleep, it's STAYING asleep until my
alarm clock goes off is what the problem is.

I hate it when suddenly I find myself staring at the ceiling
at 3 something in the morning with work in a few hours
and I'll probably be no good at all. :(

Anybody else have sleep problems? What do you do?

Awww I#m sorry for you Silouette!
Fortunately for myself, I have no sleep problems but I can't fall asleep if I don't watch tv!

I hope you will sleep soon! :flowers:

I'm an insomniac tonight too. What do I do? Well come to RT lol ... listen to an audio book or podcast on LearnOutLoud.com and clean a bit - that's what I'm about to do now ...

edit: well get sidetracked from that and work on a lil short story I'm writing then get back to the other stuff then hopefully pass out for a few hours ..

.. hopefully make up for this lost sleep tomorrow night

I would go and see your doctor. They will be able to give you some advice or maybe give you something to help you sleep. There are also herbal medicines you can take. My sister was taking herbal Nytol and they really helped her.

have u had this problem before ? coz it could as well be nothing serious. try to get more tired during the day and see if ur able to sleep at night. if not then maybe u should go to a doctor.

Thanks you guys.

Nova: My Dr. suggested sleep aids but I rejected that! Flat out!
S.O.S: Sounds like you're very creative and busy!
Roxy: I notice that when I make myself stay awake longer, I sleep longer.
I still may wake up during the night, but at least it's not as many times.
It's so random too. Some nights I wake up 2 or 3 times and I'm
awake from at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.

My friend had a few suggestions :ph34r:but he was just ribbing me
cuz he says he sleeps like a rock. Lol!

I hope this passes soon.

In the meantime, not to worry!
MJJC will keep me company when I have trouble sleeping!

Silouette Im an insomniac a lot of nights myself
sometimes I need to not have any activity or
stimulation before going to sleep. Like the computer
or tv and dim the lights or light some candles
and read a good book? That sometimes makes
me very tired. Or take a nice long bubble bath
beforehand? Avoid eating or drinking anything
with sugar. It helps to meditate too sometimes.
At least for me it does. I make everything quiet
before I lie down. :) Hope some of these hints help?
Have a good day Sil HUG Good luck!

Hi Poe. Those all sound good.
But for me, every since the things I've gone thru in the past 6 months,
it's been very hard for me to sleep without at least my TV going.
I have the volume low but Its like I have to have something.
I've tried a few of the things you have named but it doesnt help.

Like I said I dont have trouble falling asleep, its staying
asleep til morning is where the problem is.

Haha! I know Ian, I know.
It'll be OK. Sooner rather than later.

So what time is it in Germany? I thought you were in France...no, ummm, UK?
Dang, where are you Ian for real?!

Insomnia sucks! :weeping: I feel for you SilSil.:heart:
I know what it's like to suffer from insomnia. I despise it. lol

Bah! That sucks. I never have trouble but I feel for you.

 Yeah, I currently live in Germany 'cause I'm here for a placement for my studies! :p But for real I live in France! I will be back in France in 4 weeks now! :)

Aaah! OK. I try to keep up with my peeps, ya know?

Good luck with the placement thing.

I got about an hour and a half before I need to prepare for work.
Imma give this thing called "SLEEP" another go.
Peace out y'all....more to come.

For some reason milk before bed usually helps a little. Or if ok from a doctor, use a sleep aid? They have some safe over counter ones that I sometimes take when I can't sleep. If you try, make sure to take them safely. But always ask a doctor first!
It sucks not getting enough sleep! It can lead to stress, fatigue, moodiness. You can get ill if you don't get enough rest as well. Hope it gets better.

Lol

Thanks and get well soon Silouette!

Thanks Ian. :)

Cyberjackson, I cant do milk and sleep aides scare me. Lol!
I tried 1/2 of a melatonin tablet for 3 nights back in January.
It seems that I felt better when I woke up for the 3rd that day.
So in other words I didnt sleep straight thru the night like I hoped,
I just felt more rested by morning. Odd.

Yeah, How do you manage to get through work with so little sleep at night? :(

Do you go to bed early? Maybe try going a little later and you might sleep right through? :)

Well.....I go to bed at different times. Sometimes it'll be around 10 or 11. Sometimes a bit earlier like 9 P.M.
If I wake up when the alarm goes off instead of before, I would have like 7 to 7 1/2 hrs. sleep. But thats a rarity.
But since I wake up during the night after only 4 to 5 hours sleep I feel tired, yes, but amazingly, not every time.
I guess since I can fall back asleep after being awake for up to 2 hrs sometimes, I tend to get a few extra winks
before its time to get ready for work. And then I running late! :eek:mg:

It aint easy but I'm managing. I just dont like waking up like that.
It never use to happen before...just within the last, uuuummm, year or so maybe? Off & on. Yah.
