Considering the Memorial is in 3.5 hours time at the Staples Centre, it looks a little un-crowded. I have got that right haven't I ? 6pm UK time and 10am US time?

A large area (several blocks) around the Staples Center have been blocked off by police so people can't get close to the building. In fact they can't even see it from the perimeter.
I presume that's why it doesn't look like many people are there. The 17000 people who are allowed to enter the area will probably filter in slowly. Unless the news crews film the perimeter fence/blockade then we won't see any crowds at all.

I am gutted that the police have taken the decision to handle the memorial in this way because it will lessent he impact. I wanted to see massive crowds of people surrounding the center!

Large black SUVs can be seen entering and exiting the Jackson family home in Encino in preparation for a private service at Forest Lawn. After the service, Michael Jackson's body will be taken to the Staples Center in downtown L.A.

Michael Jackson Memorial LIVE Stream

I thought there should be a thread started to show where people can watch the
MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL LIVE STREAM

I'm going to record this on my TV, but wanted to be at my PC since my twins will be watching their shows. Many of even our local channels are going to pre-empt shows to cover this. Like for instance this local channel pre-empting regular shows to show this Memorial on KOIN Local 6 (Portland, Oregon)

Rival social networking Web sites MySpace and Facebook have announced they will stream this week’s Michael Jackson memorial free to members.
The live stream from the Staples Center in Los Angeles starts 3am AEST Wednesday, and will also be broadcast on local television stations ABC1, 7, 9 and 10.
The MySpace live stream is provided courtesy of AEG, and Facebook's by CNN Live.
"The memorial will be streamed real time, free, and people will be able to comment or link over to Michael Jackson's profile," Sarah Joyce of MySpace Music told AFP.
Since the announcement of Michael Jackson’s death on the 26th of June, almost 200,000 Australians have visited his MySpace profile .
On Facebook, The King of Pop has jumped from 80,000 fans prior to his death, to 6.7 million, making his fan page the most popular on the social networking site.
Guest performers taking part in the 90-minute memorial include Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Lionel Richie.

Live streams from Holland:
RTL 4 will have live streams of the ceremony. From 19.00 CET (18.00 GMT) their news program will stream the live feed directly from sattelite on:

The streams are already available, but you only get a color bar right now. There's no GEO block on it, so you can watch whereever you are.

They made these decisions based on safetly and we have to respect that. It's not just Michael Jackson's Memorial it's thousands of people in that area that aren't effected by Michael and have to carry on with the normalacy in their own lives.

10am in the usa is not 6pm uk time. I believe uk is 5 hours ahead of the East Coast but everything is on the West Coast with is an additional 3 hours different from here. So UK should be 8 hours ahead of the memorial. I think that's right.

They handled crowds with Elvis and Obama! Its a conspiracy and I cant believe fans are falling for it! The LAPD do not want bigger crowds than Elvis. If they expected a million people at Elvis funeral, trust me they would of embraced it.

Im so angry and sad I feel sick.

i hope he dont go to Staples. Venue full of hangers on, taking pics to sell on ebay etc.

theres a ticket on ebay at mo for $99,000 imagine selling a used ticket for a memorial.......so someone is going with a ticket then selling it after the memorial.

:smilerolleyes: So they should jeopardise the safety of other people just because you want there to be lots of 'fans' outside so you can say to people, 'look, he was so loved'?

Elvis and Obama would not draw the crowds Michael would. Thousands of people in one place = people getting hurt.
