How Does Michael Jackson Inspire You?

This is really random but I try not to kill bugs unless they are huge house spiders (sorry spidey it's me or you) because I can hear Michael's voice saying "careful don't kill it" in my head. Thank you Michael for guilt tripping me lol.

Much the same as many others. He made me who I am today. He made me a kinder person, spiritual, looking for the good, beautiful and love. He inspired me to pursue my dreams. He helped me through my childhood and my hardest times in life. He is and always will be at the core of my soul.

Love you so much Michael. Miss you forever.

Inspiring new generations...

I don't think you can request any songs, but on the morning of the operation, what came on the radio? 'another day has gone, I'm still all alone, how could this be. that you're not here with me?'. That's right it was 'you are not alone', obviously by Michael Jackson. It took fourteen days to get over the operation, but as you can guess, it wasn't only the family and careers that helped me get over it, it was like Michael in spirit. No more songs came on, except for the one that Mum did request.

Michael's influence on my life has been massive.

I am 28 years old, have two kids, I work as a nurse and inhabit this Earth. Trying to navigate between all these very different roles was quite difficult as I hadn't had any role models to look up to while growing up, so I kind of raised myself and figured things out by myself too.

I felt stretched thin like a paper leaf because of the demands of those roles and I didn't know how to center myself, so to speak. And every day there are news about the horrible state of this planet, mortifying acts of abuse done by humans to other humans or animals, or I just happen to see abuse and neglect around me because of the nature of my job and even just walking down the street.

So I found comfort in listening to Michael's songs, knowing he was worried too, and he did something about it. He raised awareness and gave so much back, huge amounts of money to better the lives of others. And he himself was good to the core. That's what HE could do. And that is what I strive to do. There is not a single thing I can do, as an ordinary person, other than try to be a good person.

It takes only one person to influence everyone they come in contact with. I try to give my all to my patients. MJ wrote in Moonwalker that one should strive to be the best they can be at what they do. So I am constantly reading up on latest research and finding out what goes on in the medical field so that I could be a really good RN. I give to charities when I can, because every little counts. And somebody might see me donating, making them donate too, out of inertia :). I also try to be the ray of hope to people around me, in the street or at a store or wherever. I try to never judge. Keeping in mind that a kind word from a stranger can do a world of good, I try to be as polite and caring as I possibly can to everyone around me. Because that is what I can do.

It is not always easy, I admit it. It takes constant work to remind myself to not succumb to used patterns and keep an open mind, and to go on and keep educating myself. But I can already see how I have grown doing this. I have Michael as my phone wallpaper to always remind me to do my best, to be kind. And I am considering maybe getting a ring made with a message on it, so that it would always be in my sight to strive to be as good as I can.

One last thing, adopting this kind of mentality and reading huge amounts about Michael now that I am an adult (I grew up listening to him, as a kid I made a big banner for my room saying "I (heart) Michael Jackson" and with all his song titles written on it, and I also hung it up in my dorm in uni. And even in this remote corner of Europe, I still had to defend MJ so much), has given me a sense of purpose and with that has eliminated all fear.

People are just inhabiting this earth as best as they can, some are better at it than others. But as long as each and every one of us tries to be good and kind to everyone and everything around them, we truly could heal the world. And I am doing my part as best as I can and I am teaching my children to do the same. Because that is what I can do.

So, thank you, Michael Jackson, for being here and giving your all so that others could be inspired to do the same. Your message has been heard and people are doing good in this world every single day, even when it is difficult to see in the midst of so much hatred. Always be kind.

through Michael I've learnt that age is just a number, and you can always have wholesome fun :)

that it's our differences and 'quirks' that make us special and unique as people :)

he represents endless possibilities through perseverance and imagination.

Michael made me aware of those in need from an early age

I first experienced magic through his illusions and special effects

he taught me to embrace people of all colours

I relate to him - even though we never met or spoken to each other. I felt a connection

UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi sends crowd, internet into a frenzy with perfect Michael Jackson themed floor routine

You don't need to know a whole lot about gymnastics to appreciate the floor routine that Katelyn Ohashi dominated over the weekend. Hell, you don't really need to know anything.

The UCLA gymnast has become a viral darling thanks to the routine that earned her a perfect score in meet against the University of California on Saturday. That routine featured a collection of jaw-dropping floor moves set to a medley of Michael Jackson songs (with a few seconds of Earth, Wind & Fire mixed in).

The crowd in attendance absolutely loved what they saw and they let Ohashi know with a pretty thunderous response. Her UCLA teammates could barely hold back their appreciation as well.

As of Tuesday morning, the video from UCLA's official gymnastics account has more than 150,000 retweets and over 33 million views.

This isn't the first time that Ohashi has gained some viral fame from one of her routines, either. She had another impressive M.J.-themed floor routine (featuring a moonwalk!) that helped her tie for first place during the Pac-12 Championships last year, but that routine scored her a 9.95 out of 10.

This time around, she left no room for improvement, at least not on the scorecard.

Indeed, those are the major factors of WHY Michael

I especially relate to the last one ‘ I felt a connection ‘ It’s tough to explain this ‘spiritual’ thing I have with Michael. It feels like we are from the same ‘soul group’ :)

What Michael taught me and how he inspired me was to ‘be yourself’ in a world where you’re judged for being ‘different’

one thing I respected about Michael is that he never publicly attacked another artist. even if he felt a certain way behind the scenes. he always carried himself with dignity and class. :clapping: that's rare to come by especially these days..

he made me appreciate nature and animals. even though i'm terrified of the latter, ha!

Mostly Michael inspires me to be strong in the face of cruelty, adversity, and the dark sides of human nature. To be honest, I'm a very delicate person; I'm overly sensitive and easily hurt, I care way too much what people think and I get severe anxiety at the possibility of criticism and conflict. I dislike this about myself and I wish I were strong, more secure in myself. Michael was the biggest Gryffindor lion who has ever lived on this earth. I cannot think of a stronger person. I would like to develop that same determination and courage.

this song has lifted my spirits - especially today. I know that all is well with Michael, and will always be. forever :)

I cannot really say that Michael himself has ever 'inspired' me in any way, as I have never really looked at my favourite musical artists as any kind of role-models. But I will say that the music itself has the power to influence my moods greatly. I Aston feel happier, exhilarated, and often, nostalgic when I listen to his music. His music played such a role as the soundtrack to my childhood that listening to it always brings back all those great memories.

Re: MJJC Legacy Project: How Does Michael Jackson Inspire You?

As a travel blogger, I like to visit places where Michael Jackson has been. I've also seen his statue in the Manchester football museum which used to be in front of Fulham stadium. I've visited several stadiums around the world where he performed great concerts. I even visited Salvador, Brazil where he made his short video, They Don't Care About Us. The band OLODUM perform live concerts throughout the city just as they did in his video. I will be writing many more positive articles about MJ in the future!!

In my younger days I found a lot of inspiration in Michael and his music... now I mostly focus on the music and also connects MJ with a lot of emotions in connection with growing up, and living my life. MJ is without a doubt one of the artists that I have the most memories connected to.. A lot of his songs are a part of the soundtrack to my life.

+1 I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago, with a fly and a butterfly stuck at the window trying to get out and i heard the same thing in my head, "Dont kill it!" that Michael said during the History Tour in Munich. I ended up getting them both outside free again :)

So yea, Michael keeps on positively affecting us in what we choose to do!

Oh, goodness... where to begin?

His music got me first. Then his dancing. And his smile.

But my true fascination lay in who he was as a man. That’s what has kept me coming back after all these years.

I wrote fanfiction about him when I was in high school, and that allowed me to hone my craft as a writer. A lot of the ideas for stories which came to me while reading about him or listening to his music or watching his short films carried over today.

And now that I’ve joined this fan forum, maybe I’ll revisit those old stories.
