The small moments you love

Michael eating popcorn in 'thriller' - it would be gross if anyone else chewed with their mouth open, but somehow he made it work, ha!

the unexpected closing of 'startin' somethin' - the tension builds to the point where the bottom falls out completely  'hee! hee! hee!' to be a fly on the wall when that was going down..

the guest spot at a james brown concert in '83 :) :
someone mentioned that he actually took off his glasses and put them back on before, and after the spin. he was moving so fast that I had to slow it down, or watch it multiple times to see what he actually did! he whipped the crowd into a frenzy within seconds! a 'small' moment that made such an impact :)

I love that moment from Men in Black!

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but there's a video out there where Michael is performing Another Part of Me and notices that his pants are unzipped, and while fixing it, he sings "we're zipping up a major love" instead of "we're sending out a major love!" It's adorable.

The big grin MJ had during I'll Be There at Wembley 1988, right after he says "'you're beautiful", it always makes me smile and gives me joy knowing he loved what he did

I think you can see a lot of his personality when he is doing public speaking events - eg I am looking into his speech at Exeter City Football Club in 2002 - he improvised about England winning the world cup. Nice to hear his spontaneous laugh.

In 'Will You Be There' Michael and the dancers perform routine between the final chorus and his spoken word section. At the very end of the routine he and the dancers do a rhythmic hold and pull.....before coming to rest. It's best illustrated in the Dangerous Bucharest (HBO) concert.
Always takes my breathe away.

Consolation prize to Michael breaking character in the 'Say, Say, Say' video when Paul surprises him with shaving cream.

When I remember that performance I think of how far he had fallen by that point. So sad.

To be fair, the 30th anniversary shows wasn't exactly a highlight of his career. But a moment I did love from that show was the proud look on Katherine Jackson's face when The Jackson's were about to perform together.

There was a funny moment near the end of the 1996 World Music Awards when Michael was joined on stage by a music industry executive who gave a speech warning about music piracy. When he uses the word 'pirates' Michael chuckles and quickly composes himself. It was clear that his child like mind had led him to think of the classic image of pirates.

" I LOVE THIS SONG" the meme always cracks me up.
When he complained about people not clapping strong enough lmaof

I like when Michael starts "tsshing" right before Human Nature in his concert at Wembley in the Bad Tour. I also like his slight head turn under his umbrella in the trial footage.

^^^ I've always loved Moonwalker's intro. Did he really spin clockwise ? Or was it some type of video editing trick ? The first spin in the Moonwalker "Man in the Mirror" performance also makes me wonder.

I love how in every Another Part Of Me performance, Michael signals to the band how many hits he wants to have at the end of the song.
In early U.S shows he usually shows 2 fingers, then 3 and then the song ends (at 2:07):

During the European leg it was usually: 1 hit, 2 hits, 3 hits and then the song ended (3:15):

The dance he does at minute 3.52 in the "in the closet" video. Why is there no GIF of this?

Yeah I love that moment too. Mike looked so cool and fresh in that video, even the way he moved looked new

I love moment during WDAN live in Copenhagen when Michael starts locking and then can't stop himself for like nearly 10 seconds. It was great, around 1.05 of WDAN

I love this thread by the way, so glad it's made a comeback

I love this too! The three hits during the european and 2nd american leg are the best.

I really love this bit (4:16 and onward) of the Billie Jean performance in Basel 97, one of the most energetic and best enactments of the second verse of the song to the eye. Heck, this performance is one of the best of the HIStory Tour, a truly underrated show

The way Michael comes out this spin. Like his body rolls and then he frames it beautifully with his hand. The man's movement was divinity in motion.

“they talk about me like I’m some kind of an idiot who would just be dangling his baby over a balcony” with his index finger and thumb pinched together like how you would hold a string toy for a cat emphasis on the word “dangling” - LWMJ

The magical note at 4:34 caught me off guard. I can't remember him doing that in another performance. It reminds me of what he does at the end of the song called "Invincible".

I love that (I never much enjoyed IJCSLY, but that note IS magical, like you said). He does something similar in This is it at 4:20 onwards. Much longer. Love. I adore Human nature on This is it as well.
