Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Because she panders to the white men at the top. She does their bidding. Look how she protects harvey amongst others and is so quick to attack the people they want attacked. She needs an oscar for the best uncle tom.

The British media and tabloids need to have a seat. Right now, the british media is not looking good on how they are treated Megan and Harry and trying to put all blame on Megan. Their bigotry is so apparent. Look even how they did MJ with the name calling. Always want to disrespect people of color/blacks.

Because she panders to the white men at the top. She does their bidding. Look how she protects harvey amongst others and is so quick to attack the people they want attacked. She needs an oscar for the best uncle tom.
Today she want to talk about why she never married Stedman. She needs to sit down and do not try to deflect the issue off what she was trying to do to Russell Simmons and got busted and lies and tactic she did to MJ. People are not letting it go.

She appeals to the stay-at-home mom crowd as well since she had a daytime talk show. I'm sure a lot of women that watched her show continued to follow her work after it ended.

That guy Stedman... To me he is so creepy. And I´ve never understood their relationship either. She didn´t married him because she never liked him, he´s just a puppet, so she can say she has a man.

For her, pandering and doing her bidding to network bosses like Harvey
must be a badge of honor.
Just think, to be invited to his private luxury yacht...
zipping champagne watching LN mockumentary
hot from the heels of Sundance ....even before HBO releases it,
makes her think she's in the inner circle ..
in the upper echelon of the media fraternity..
an admission to the "boys" club, is a sign she's arrived.
She's one of them in the media empire ..a powerful force to be reckoned with.

What made you think Stedman was creepy? That's new to me, so I'm curious on how you got that impression. I always thought that Stedman was used a beard as well. Oprah and Gayle are really lovers, but they can't be out because it's still sort of a taboo subject in the Black community (although I can't speak for the entire Black community). Although Oprah and Gayle are snakes themselves, I believe there's something else going on as well. I hope Tyler Perry watch his back very carefully because eventually, they will turn on him. I've heard some stories about him as well.

Let's keep an eye out on what's going on out there.

Oprah gets on my nerves now;however, I do not agree with this nor do I think it is good to make claims that is unfounded despite her doing this to MJ. That make us look just as bad.

I don't know, I just always felt like that towards him. And I heard that story about them being lovers but I don't know if that's real. If it is good for them. But I always thought Stedman was just for a show.

I agree. I heard that story before but it might be real or not. It doesn't matter to me.

Exactly. i don't care about her anymore. i'm just here for MJ.

Agree! some of media there are racist. even my mother agrees with the thing with Harry and Megan. off topic but they doing it because she half black. everybody knew when she marry him it was gonna be a lot mess afterwards. boy we wasn't lying. it's sad it's 2020 and new freaking decade and stuff like this still exist. if they do move i wish them the best and better life.

that's great news. congrats Michael.

I agree with everything you said but look up the definition uncle tom. actually means a good thing to call not a bad thing.

WHY did she become so big and so important? I dont get it. I hope more and more people see her real face. She abused her power and is now questioned from many sides for it. But I am wondering if any similar powerful person will ever talk publicly about her misbehavior.

A lot people has talked about her. everybody knows she's not good.

You know Joe also made them go to stirp clubs and preform. it's so sad he did that to them. so young. like Michael said he was an "adult" before he was a "kid". i'm so sorry for his trauma. joe should of went to jail. i know we probably would never got the Jackson 5 but that still doesn't give him the right to treat his family this way. Michael forgave him but still.

I hate how they wrote ''Abuse victim'' and not ''Alleged abuse victim'' - What they're saying here that it's a fact Safechuck was abused. It's small things like this that help the media brainwash the general public into thinking Michael is guilty and it's disgusting

‘Leaving Neverland’: Will Michael Jackson doc win at PGA Awards after its success at last year’s Emmys?

HBO’s controversial Michael Jackson documentary “Leaving Neverland” has continued its awards run with a nomination from the Producers Guild of America in the Best Non-Fiction Television category. This comes on the heels of Dan Reed‘s film winning Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Special at the Emmy Awards in September. (Watch our interview with Reed.) This begs the question, can the film keep up its winning streak at the PGA Awards?

While the acclaim and ratings alone seem to give the program a great shot at prevailing at PGA, there’s another interesting connection that bodes well in its favor. That would be the correlation between this category at PGA and the documentary/non-fiction categories at the Emmys. The winner of Non-Fiction Television at PGA for almost every year since 2002 has won or been nominated for one of the non-fiction series awards at the previous year’s Emmys.

..........One last thing to consider for how this might fare at PGA is how the other nominees in the category did at the Emmys. “Queer Eye” scored a win in the Structured Reality Program category. “30 for 30” received a nomination for Documentary or Non-Fiction Series but lost to “Our Planet.” “Surviving R. Kelly,” also about the sexual crimes of a musical superstar, was nominated for Informational Series or Special but lost to “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.” At this year’s News and Documentary Emmys, “60 Minutes” walked away with four awards including the honors for Featured Story in a News Magazine and Story in a News Magazine.

That was a different day and age. Back then, kids could go and buy cigers and walk down the street alone.

Off topic, but it depends which dictionary you are using:

Uncle Tom /ʌŋkl ˈtɒm/

nounOFFENSIVE•NORTH AMERICAN

a black man considered to be excessively obedient or servile to white people.
a person regarded as betraying their cultural or social allegiance.

The Urban dictionary seems to disagree:

Theatrical productions of Uncle Tom's Cabin played throughout the nadir (post Civil War and Reconstruction); but since the novel's indictment of slavery was no longer congenial to an increasingly white society, rewrites changed Uncle Tom from a martyr who gave his life to protect the people into a sentimental dope who was loyal to kindly masters. In the black community, Uncle Tom eventually came to mean an African American who sells out his people's interests and still does today. In my opinion the phrase "uncle tom" should not be used today by black people because it degrades the status of a man who wasn't in fact a sell out but a hero who's name should be used with reverence not disgrace.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Uncle Tom

Pah. The media even tries to get people to claim Don Cherry's racist, but it's them whom are racist.
