On June 25, 2009, Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni was discovered! In 2016/2017, it had its own place in an exhibition.
Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni is back on Tour in the Natural History Museum Maastricht starting tomorrow until August 30!


A group of paleontologists discovered a new family, genus and species of fossil hermit crab – one that lived 100 million years ago in northern Spain.

The team made the surprising discovery on the 25th June 2009. Later that day, the group saw on TV that Michael Jackson had passed away. The paleontologists decided to honor the “King of Pop” by naming the new species after the late music icon: Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni.

The concept of the exhibition is pretty cool: Showing fossils or reconstructed fossils named after pop/rock stars and learn more of those fascinating animals who ruled the Earth. And also learn about those who gave their names to the discoveries…
Not to mention the exhibition will take place during June 25 and August 29 so what a great (and educative) way to celebrate the King of Pop!

The Estate is pressuring the California Appellate Court to cut the Quincy Jones Verdict of $9.4 Million!

To recall, Jones was rewarded the $9.4 Million in 2017 for his Royalty damages for his work on “Off the Wall”, “Thriller” and “Bad”.

The Estate’s Attorney Zia Modabber from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is arguing that Jones’s interpretation of the contract for remixed recordings is not valid and conclude Jones was not owed anything for them at all.

It seems we are up for another long court battle again as the case was raised by Jones in 2017.

If the Estate does manage to get it through, this will mean they will be able to rework/remix/repackage the 3 albums without Jones’s approval or say. (not to mention they will save $9.4 Million!)

I'm pretty sure we all love and miss Michael laugh. if you listen to Prince went he laugh he sounds so much like him. what a nice hashtag. ^ ^

I got into a MJ mood late last week and I was watching a couple of his vids before I started to teach. Some of the students came in and saw what I was watching and he reported this week that he spent the whole weekend watchng MJ's live performances.
 
Here is Barbados Michael was never cancelled. His music is played daily.

On a personal level, my students still show him mad respect. When I am about to lose my patience with them, they start chanting his name and sometimes they sing HTW.

What can be said about Michael Jackson's groundbreaking sixth studio album Thriller—and its classic lead single—that hasn't already been said?

At the 26th GRAMMY Awards in 1984, the Quincy Jones-produced album received a record-breaking eight golden gramophones, including Album of the Year. Single "Beat It," meanwhile, won Record Of The Year. Its lead single also won Best Pop Vocal Performance, and in today's edition of GRAMMY Rewind, you can watch the King of Pop charmingly accept that award.

Bringing sisters La Toya, Janet and Rebbie onstage with him, Jackson thanked Jones, his family, and even Steven Spielberg. He then told the audience that he'd made a deal with himself that if he won a seventh award ("which is this one"), he'd take off his shades (which he did).

Jackson, who passed away in 2009, won 13 GRAMMYs over the course of his career and was nominated for a whopping 38. He was also named a GRAMMY Legend in 1993 and Lifetime Achievement award winner in 2010.

A year ago, to fight against the so called Documentary “Leaving Neverland”, the MJVibe team decided to stream Michael Jackson’s song “MONEY”. The song was selected back then from many fan suggestions on social media.
Day after day, the team has streamed the song and counted every single time we streamed it and in a year we have streamed MONEY 103,674 times!

Our goal was to put the song in the charts to show the world that Dan Reed’s movie is just all about… MONEY!
Unfortunately, we did not succeed to put the song in the charts but we have contributed to the huge increase of Michael Jackson music streaming and we would like to thank not only the team but also all the fans who have streamed any Michael Jackson songs during this difficult year! We have kept Michael’s artistry at the top and his music has been listen more than any artists even after the fake documentary was aired!

But we are not ready to give up on the idea to bring “Money” into the charts! We will need obviously your help as we cannot do it on our own!

Like last year, we will ask the fans to stream “Money” from 6-13 March 2020, a Friday to Friday basis as all the charts are counted from Fridays.
