Your favorite albums to greatest to least in your opinion.

1. Invincible (VERY UNDERRATED)
2. HIStory
3. Dangerous
4. Xscape
5. Bad
6. Off the wall
7. Thriller
8. Got To Be There
9. Michael (just the ones michael actual sang)

This is alittle weird for me since I listen to all of his music from every album but if I had to choose that would be it :)

It’s hard cause I love them all! :)

But HIStory is a very special album, it resonates with me and the world’s current situation very well.

Off the Wall is in no way bad, but I feel you have to be in a certain mood for it. I prefer MJ’s later, more introspective work.

Why only list one Motown album though?

1. Dangerous
2. Thriller
3. Bad
4. Blood On The Dance floor
5. History
6. Off The Wall
7. Invincible

1. Bad
2. Dangerous
3. Off The Wall
4. HIStory
5. Thriller
6. Blood On The Dance Floor
7. Invincible

This was so difficult, a lot of my list is forever changing , this is the list today. The only constant is Bad is always top, Dangerous is always a close second and unfortunately Invincible is always bottom of the list

1. BAD
2. Thriller
3. Dangerous
4. HIStory
5. Off The Wall
6. Invincible

This is just my thoughts today because at the moment I really hear BAD and Thriller albums a lot. - half a year ago I heard Invincible all the time, so back then Invinceble would propably have been 1... - But for today - this would be my list. - ever changing.

I'm really surprised to see OTW ranking so lowly in many lists. I can't grasp it :p
Perhaps most fans here are rather young and grew up with Bad songs? Perhaps the album sounds dated for younger generations?

I think as we get older some of our favorites do changes. so i think that's pretty normal. sometimes our least turn into our favorites.

Based on the number of times that I have listened to each album in the past year, my favourite MJ albums are as follows:

1) Off The Wall
2) Thriller
3) Bad
4) Dangerous
5) Invincible
6) BOTDF / History - These two albums feature songs that I find very depressing to listen to. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to them.

I have noticed that as I get older, I find myself enjoying Michael's later work less and his earlier work more and more.

I am not ranking MJ's Motown albums, because I am yet to listen to them in their entirety. There is a lot of Jackson 5 / Early Michael Solo work that I am yet to discover.

I don't think age has something to do with this type of ranking but just personal taste. They are all great so to me it doesn't really matter when I see other's people lists. It's just good to see what you all like. Except for OTW, that's harsh  :D

1. Off The Wall
2. Thriller
3. Bad
4. Invincible
5. Dangerous
6. HIStory

Another ranking would be 1. Bad/Thriller - 2. Invincible/Off The Wall - 3. Dangerous - 4. HIStory

Five year re-ranking:

Bad
HIStory
Thriller
Dangerous
Blood on the Dance Floor
Invincible
Off the Wall

About BOTDF, I see the majority adding it to their list. Does this means you actually listen to those songs?
I have never seen it as a studio album as 2/3 of the album are old songs in a new jacket, a jacket that Michael himself didn’t make.
I haven’t listened to any of those songs since probably 1998.
If a remix album with old songs is seen as an album that can be listed then why doesn’t anyone list number ones or the essential?

Also if Michael and Xscape are listed, then why is there no place for farewell my summer love and looking back to yesterday?

It has five new songs on it.
